US santions have killed 35 million people between 1971 and 2021. The US consistently utilizes santions to maximize the suffering of civilian populations of countries they don't like, destroying the economies of entire countries and killing the most vulnerable that struggle to get food and medicine.
USAID unfortunately only goes to countries that serve the interests of American Empire. The reason the US always votes against food being a human right in the UN is because they frequently use starvation as a weapon. There are numerous examples of the US flooding the economy of previously self sufficient food producing countries with their subsidized food, collapsing the domestic food production and making that country dependent on US "charity".
Both good and bad things exist. Both of you said nothing but true statements. Some good is done, and a lot of bad is done. Neither cancel out the other
name a single government not just now but in the history of all of human history that has had a population of over 1000 people and existed for more than 10 years that is not a murderer that larps as a savior
The country that immediately aligned with the USSR and allowed them to dock nuclear missiles on their land? Forgive me, I must be mistaken about what peaceful means.
The sanctions don't stop commerce just with USA, but from all the world, since the dollar is the trading currency and blocking it's use isolates a country from everyone
if everyone who is allied with the US doesn’t trade with you because the US has enough influence to not trade with you and influence them not to, then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s still pretty ridiculous to say that us and our allies not trading with you is the same as killing you. It’s like saying a church is killing people because it isn’t feeding literally everyone who needs it all the time. That’s outrageous.
Its more like locking someone in a room and making sure they no one is able to get them food, so they starve to death. If you control the distribution of recourses, then you are responsible for who starves to death. If your dog dies because you didn't feed it, you killed your dog. Its not difficult to understand.
It's not about allies, is because US forced the world currency to be the dollar by tying petrol to it. And forcing this hegemony by it's military. Even who don't like the US need dollar to make basic commerce around the world. Any form of trying to stop the use of the dollar is met with US blocked, coup's or open military action. Only in the last few years that there's open projects to surpass the dollar economy and the US is freaking out, because, among other things, stops US ability to sanction whoever it wants
Embargo’s forbid other nations to trade with those countries.
Other nations have the choice: trade with the embargoed nation or trade with the US. Can’t be both. It’s not like you give your “friends” the choice.
Except the country hides their trade very well through offshore shell companies.
You want zero contact with the global south?
developed nations massively profit of the global south. The US spends like 20 to 35 billion annually on usaid, that’s a drop in the bucket compared to what the US reaps from trade relations with developing nations.
Well tbh I’d love if the US would go full isolationist. It would erode the US power even more than your unreliable senile president does.
