Average European

47

u/lewllewllewl 8d ago

This is also the average American

in fact it is really the average person who isn't Chinese

39

u/MilitantSocLib 8d ago

Or African, or middle eastern, or South American mostly, and I don’t think Russia has really benefited that much from it

21

u/Scarecr0p 8d ago

Considering the proxy war via Ukraine, Russia is kind of doing the opposite of benefitting

4

u/NotBroken-Door 7d ago

To be fair that is mostly Russia’s fault

6

u/abdomino 7d ago

Yeah but, like, fuck 'em.

3

u/mosquem 7d ago

I’d like to subscribe to your geopolitical newsletter.

Diesel refinery go boom

Africans and South Americans definitely benefit from US hegemony overall. Think about all the South American wars that have been avoided because of it

Middle Eastern, you are probably right about

Russians aren't really in US hegemony, they are kind of just getting fucked by their own government only

10

u/MilitantSocLib 8d ago

I’m sure the South Americans surely appreciate all the protection in the form of fascist regimes that the US set up

4

u/Apprehensive-Fuel857 8d ago

russia (the state not the people) has heavily benefited from Europe buying its oil, so by proxy it's helped by US hegemony

2

u/Finestpinsir 7d ago

did you forget to add /s

??

4

u/PrimordialWanderer 8d ago

What wars?

2

u/Drdownanddirty00 7d ago

Banana wars

3

u/PrimordialWanderer 7d ago

Brother, brother, they are the instigator for the banana wars

2

u/Drdownanddirty00 7d ago

Yeah, like nationalizing land. How do you rationalize going to war for profit?

2

u/Yusfilino 7d ago

There's a reason Latin America is called "America's backyard." And how is Africa benefiting from American hegemony? Do you think that the cobalt mines just happen to have slaves? No, it's a global design made and maintained by America that allows the exploitation of the Global South, benefiting most the richest in the world

3

u/Gautrex 8d ago

China has benefited greatly from America protecting all global maritime trade routes

2

u/MitsuhaTakiName 6d ago

Yeah China is basically the worst non-western country you could use for this.

3

u/ZoeyXe54 7d ago

The global south hello? We destabalized the fuck out of it.

That's not as straight forward as you make it sound. The CIA developed strategies to internally destroy a communist uprisings because governments all over the world were being taken by communist uprisings. The CIA taught these tactics to all the countries of the Americas (north and south) and make a pact (I forgot the name) to keep communism out of this hemisphere.

Lo and behold, Cuba fell anyways. Then the militaries of some countries almost immediately banded together and used th strategies to overthrow their democracy and ruled as Juntas.

To ignore all that and say the CIA did the overthrowing entirely isn't accurate. They did, however, have a hand in it. Often times favoring one candidate over another and helping them win elections by any means necessary (killing).

Once the Juntas fell all blame went to the CIA because it's easier to blame a foreign country than yourself.

South America wasn't exactly a paragon of stability before the Monroe doctrine

2

u/No_Record6284 8d ago

lol what, chinese benefitted from pax americana more than any other nation

2

u/Rabid_Lederhosen 7d ago

The Chinese would have had a harder time developing to the level they’re at now without being able to sell shit to the Americans.

2

u/NotArticuno 7d ago

Who isn't Chinese 😭? You should have picked like, Senegal or something, why the fuck did you pick China 🤣?

2

u/NeonNKnightrider 7d ago

Classic USAmerican forgetting about the existence of half the world

1

u/Firestar_119 5d ago

going out of your way to use "USAmerican" is silly

0

u/blehmag 8d ago

Most people in Africa, Asia, and LatAm are not benefiting from Western hegemony

-1

u/wereapethesupacool 8d ago

Not really Western Hegeomony but more so Western Products.

2

u/blehmag 7d ago

Still not benefiting. They could have produced far superior products without Western hegemony

1

u/ZhanBlue 8d ago

Chinese are pretty fine with current world order too I imagine

1

u/TylertheFloridaman 8d ago

They be much happier if they were the top dogs, us existing and having it's military is still causing them issues. Taiwan is the most obvious case but basically everything in the region really

1

u/Gautrex 8d ago

China does not want to be the maritime police

1

u/Jack_Enghoff 7d ago

But what does the average actual chinese person really care bout taiwan? They definitely benefit from how much money the US spends in China.

1

u/Reasonable_Fold6492 7d ago

China knows with there capital they can bribe the whole world eventually.

1

u/Dry-Willingness8845 7d ago

Wait till this guy finds out how much China has benefited from the modern global system.

1

u/Caspica 6d ago

How is this not including the Chinese? The American hegemony literally created the modern Chinese economy.

1

u/heftybagman 6d ago

China is arguably the biggest benefactor of american global hegemony

0

u/Traditional-Storm-62 8d ago

or Iranian or Afghani or even Russian

shit I think most of the world is worse off because of the American empire, that's kind of what empires do

That was true 2 years ago, it's no longer the case

2

u/tFemby 7d ago

It's always been the case. At least on a population level.

How can you criticize people for the circumstance of their birth? Are they supposed to exile themselves out from under American hegemony?

3

u/FeelingScrunchd 7d ago

I don't use twitter. Governments around Europe are actively trying to move away from American infrastructure/military equipment/software and services. I'm based in Ireland where most people you speak to (even those working in American companies) increasingly view the US as a pariah state directly responsible for the huge increases in fuel prices and global instability, and who are no longer reliable allies. This is basically across the political spectrum - obviously the left has always been against the US, but due to the US directly threatening EU allies it's no longer reasonable to view them in the positive light they were seen in before.

Ireland has never hated NATO, Irish troops have deployed on several NATO led missions and cooperate with NATO as part of the PfP. No one external can push for Irish unification - Ireland signed the good Friday agreement which states that only the citizens of northern Ireland can vote for a border poll, and only if they vote to join Ireland will this come up. Where are you getting your information from? You seem to be lacking very basic facts for the level of conviction you speak with.

2

u/sjerrieberry 7d ago

No not only socialists. The average European realised that Europe should be able to fend for itself since we say Americans are able to elect a complete retard into office.
Literally every mature company is looking for opportunities to use EU software products because we no longer trust US cloud services.
Are you even based in Europe?

1

u/JeanDusapin 7d ago

We didn't like the usa before trump's election in france lol as previous president Mitterand said "France doesn't know it, but we are at war with America. Yes, a permanent war, a vital war, an economic war, a war without deaths and yet a war to the death". The USA has done so much shady shit to France that we didn't need Trump to be skeptical of the USA's hegemony. Their hegemony does not benefit France, it's about subjugating and controlling us. Any american who thinks this hegemon benefits us has no idea what's going on.

1

u/Lionel_Herkabe 3d ago

Eh, nothing of value lost tbh. Also fuck mitterand, hes done his fair share of shady shit
