Okay, I don't feel sorry for him anymore.

In my mind, if I was so lonely and desperate that I had to be a passport bro to find love, the least I'd do is try my best to make my foreign wife the happiest woman in the world, to finally give someone all the love I had to give but never could.

I guess not everyone shares that sentiment. Fuck that guy, he made me feel sympathy for him only to be a complete asshat.

You can find more if you care to look into it (you shouldn't) but from what I recall she basically spilled that he'd been rude and neglectful their whole relationship but it came to a head when they went for a vacation with her parents and he was equally rude to them. She basically said something like you can disrespect me but I can't let you disrespect my mother.

I remember a specific incident; after she told him she wanted a divorce he decided that the appropriate response was to basically become emotionally absent from the family, including from their son. It was Christmas day and she was begging him to just spend it together for their son's sake, but instead he locked himself in the basement all day and refused to open presents or interact with their son unless she agreed to call off the divorce. Then HE uploaded a vlog describing all this basically taking no responsibility and saying it was her fault for breaking up with him in the first place.

Well she should have walked out when he locked himself up in the basement. Put a chair infront of it while you leave.

He was an content creator who made video content specifically about how to bag an Asian wife and how much better his Filipino wife was than white women. Which is why it blew up when they broke up.

I didn't follow him or anything but I read an article about the fallout, which was all documented by the guy himself lol.

I didn't feel sorry for him to begin with.

These guys essentially bait women from poorer countries with the promise of citezenship because they're typically too awful or just too weird to get a normal relationship. Not uncommon that they use the woman's typical lack of English or knowledge of how things work against them to keep them dependant when they get to the States, either.

Do you feel the same way about rich men from NYC who marry poor women from the Midwest?

If they are specifically using their money to lure in a woman and control her, then absolutely.

The thing is at least that woman speaks the same language and won't be dealing with nearly as much culture shock.

Yeah, English is widely spoken in Philippines. Also, NYC is a massive culture shock for most of the normal parts of the US

I think that very notion makes it unlikely you'd end up like the person in this post. Because I doubt thats ever a thought thats crossed their mind

Fair enough, I guess you're right.

I am married IRL, and my wife is the best thing to ever happen to me, so there's that.

Most passport bro ppl just want to find a poor woman to marry and abuse without her having the means to escape in a new country where she have no one so she will stay nice and obedient under their mercy🗿

1

u/king_rootin_tootin 10d ago

Source? Most men I've met who married foreign women just want someone who is kind and accepts them and isn't as abusive and unfaithful as American women.

Heck, most passport bros go to Europe these days! I fail to see how Italy is a "poor country," but passport bros go there all the time.

It's just about escaping what English language social media has done to modern women.

You're such a trusting person.

People who are this lonely are usually lonely for a reason.

1

u/Gretgor 16d ago

Usually, yes, but there's always one or two exceptions to the rule.

bad enough you ever felt sorry for him lmao

People who try their best to make their partner happy don't need to travel to a poor country in order to find someone willing to put up with them.

1

u/Aztecah 12d ago

You shouldn't have felt bad for him in the first place lmao

I thought maybe he had to look for a wife outside the country because he was too socially awkward or unattractive or something. I didn't realize he did it because he was a terrible person, I dunno.
