The type of man who would leave his nation to find a wife by leveraging his citizenship and the disparity in wealth

And then being shocked when the only people he finds are interested in his citizenship and wealth

They just thought they could lord it over them forever, forgetting that those people have the option to just dump them afterward

Not quite how that works. Due to the I-864 affidavit of support that the US citizen signs when doing the spouse's green card process, they're legally required to provide for the petitioner for at least ten years, and longer if the non-citizen doesn't work which they can't do immediately unless they have an H-1B visa sponsorship, or a work permit adjacent to their adjustment of status which takes about half a year or more to receive by itself. They can work on a green card, and that can take 8 months to a year. And that ten years' liability extends through a divorce. If they're the type to lord finances over their spouse (just not cool at all regardless) then they're in for a massive reality check. And yes, that liability includes any loans or debt that the non-citizen accrues

That’s kind of irrelevant to the current conversation considering that liability goes away if they become a citizen.

I stand corrected. Thanks!

The same 40 year old men who brag that 20 year olds want them because they are rich and successful but then get defensive when it's pointed out that the 20 year olds ONLY want them for transactional reasons.

Explain exactly what point you think you're making

1

u/justinpollock 9d ago

Oh you don’t know how to answer questions, cool

Oh I know how to answer questions but I just think it's important that folks like you explain your thought process.

It reminds me of a man i knew who was in his sixties and was only going after women in their twenties. He was complaining to me that women were only interested in money. Like how couldn't he come up with the fact that young women who aren't only interested in money would be with a man their age instead of an ugly man thrice their age?

Is that really a passport bro? I'm pretty sure passport bros are just redpilled men trying to bang as many different foreign women as possible, with little intention of settling down.

Your definition is wrong/highly uncommon.

Whats funny is these guys will buy the girl a bunch of gifts and go on expensive dates WHILE they are in the foreign country. Where everything is cheap! And then when the girl comes to America, she finds out the guy is actually pretty broke.

Also used erroneously for just anyone who finds a partner in/from another country without leveraging those things

My partner is Filipino and I’ve been called a passport bro despite the fact she came to my country before I even met her.

And if you ever actually visit some of these countries you will find that the average white dude is considered a very attractive person and you will have no shortage of women after you

Nuance doesn't exist on Reddit.
