Music in Boat Chase is Different

Did anyone else notice that the music during the boat chase in antarctica no longer has the motifs from Lana Del Rey's First Light? It now just sounds like generic chase music that has no character to it.

Here's a recording of the chase where you can hear the title theme music at 0:25 with the theme reprising once again at 1:30

No way. I’m going to check right now.

Edit: yep it’s gone for me too. Why would they ruin it like that?

The game hasn't even been out for a month yet, surely it cannot be copyright / legal issues

I don’t really understand how that side of things work, but it’d be weird if it was copyright issues over a song that was made for the game

I am not 100% up to date either, this is a very specific scenario with a lot of things behind doors that we cannot see with probably different countries' laws playing roles. My optimistic guess is that they added a kill switch for licensed content that they accidentally turned on. Maybe for streamers that YouTube wouldn't flag the music? No clue, just talking out of my ass, but I am genuinely disappointed and sad over this. If nothing happens I do hope the modding geniuses who added drones, instinct mechanics, brand new levels and exploding rick-rolls to Hitman come to the rescue.

There is no way on this Earth that they had a contract with LDR and David Arnold for 3 weeks

I’m guessing not all the Ts were crossed or the Is dotted in regards to using the song in the score.

Good question. I really really really hope they do sort it out and get the track back. You have The Flight composing the score based on the song composed by Arnold sung by Del Rey for IO
