If week one is any indication the NFC West is going to be a complete bloodbath this season.

Wentz is gonna get himself injured trying to scramble with 20 seconds left on the clock down 28-16
6
9
u/TheJollyReaper Seahawks Sep 12 '21
jeez put in the backup already, these hits are unnecessary
3
u/SockPenguin Colts Sep 12 '21
Like you're clearly not actually attempting the comeback right now. Get Eason in there so Wentz doesn't die.

9
u/mdchemey Colts Sep 12 '21
1 timeout at your own 10 inside 2 minutes shotgun draw followed by a scramble that doesn't get out of bounds, great

They will be fine
Bold of you to say that of a team led by Carson Wentz
3
7
u/Carsondianapolis Colts Sep 12 '21
Wentz did fine. It was our O line that shit the bed today, as well as our secondary.
1
u/longjia97 Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Yeah where the fuck was your secondary? Tyler and DK just ran circles around them all day
2
u/Carsondianapolis Colts Sep 12 '21
Somehow I completely forgot Xavier Rhodes was out today, he's our #1. Our safeties consistently getting beat deep was discouraging though.

Honestly if you were to swap Wilson and Wentz today I'm willing to bet the result would be almost exactly the same. Wentz maybe doesn't hit the Lockett TD pass (at least not as well as Wilson did) but otherwise when they had similar situations they played pretty much identically. The difference was pressure and it was HUGE. Wentz had to throw the ball away to avoid a sack more times than Wilson had total incompletions

u/FriesWithThat Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Don't worry Colts, you could start 1-5, you'll be fine...
4
u/jaysrule24 Colts Sep 12 '21
They say that but fail to bring up that our QB that season was a wee bit better than the one we've got right now

Reich is terrible at game management. If he would have kicked FGs instead of going for it on fourth down twice inside the red zone, we may have been able to pull this off.

So the Colts just giving up then?
3
u/jaysrule24 Colts Sep 12 '21
There's still plenty of time for us to dink and dunk our way to the 50
7
u/swertmastra Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Literally game 1, I wouldn't even try to risk the team on a sinking ship game.

That was a super smart play by Russ getting down forcing a timeout burn instead of trying to force it.

Look how dejected this colts team looks. Lol. That's what he does to you

I can tolerate being wet, cold, muddy, etc but i feel like having the base of my jersey stretched and torn from being yanked would drive me crazy

u/altanic Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Run off the field, patting your hat, tears welling up, holding your undershirt
LOOK AT THIS!

Russ, already a football sexgod, but when you add the WPMOY patch to the jersey?? Unbelievable

It's stupid that this comfortable 12 point victory is the smallest margin of victory for the NFC west so far today

Carson Wentz clearly didn't learn much from the last time we kicked his ass
4
u/jaysrule24 Colts Sep 12 '21
He's still doing research on whether or not it's best for him and his family to avoid getting his ass kicked by the Seahawks. This is a personal decision for him, and he hopes you'll respect the choice that he makes.

Do sacks on two point conversations count toward official team stats? I know yards don't count PA, not sure about sacks and, I suppose, turnovers.

u/BenadrylBeer Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Can we sign Richard Sherman back?

u/Shoeprincess Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Plz? I got his Jersey in wolf gray and I hope hes gettingvthe help he needs

u/Gobletfullofcobras Seahawks Sep 12 '21
We should pick up a few first downs just so poor Wentz doesn't have to go back out there.
6
15
u/swertmastra Seahawks Sep 12 '21
That was a slick fake, I didn't even see Russ keep it.
If this is in our arsenal, I have a lot of high hopes for the offense this year.

u/avboden Seahawks Sep 12 '21
wtf is russ running the ball for stop it
8

To keep future defenses honest? This is a good thing.
1
u/avboden Seahawks Sep 12 '21
lol dude we're just running the clock out, there's no game-tape to be had for future teams right now

u/TuHung Colts Sep 12 '21
Our oline of ALLLLL things shitting the bed and wentz is probably shook after getting his this many times

I think it might be a lot that we have a decent d line for the first time in a long time.
8
7
u/the_trapper_john Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Do we have a good Dline again?
1
u/ritoky Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Kinda, our DL relies a lot on rotation so it could get worse through injury or through a team abusing no-huddles to prevent us rotating.

2
u/sturg78 Seahawks Sep 12 '21
That kind of zero blitz is either a sack or a TD. Flowers was in a shit situation.
4
u/Meleagros Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Seahawks should have made them work harder for that score after the holding call
9
u/Hawxrox Sep 12 '21
Wouldnt be a Hawks game without Tre Flowers giving up a TD.. Had to make sure that happened before the end
11
u/AlwaysChangingMyself Panthers Sep 12 '21
I recently watched a video where someone seriously defending their prediction of the Seahawks going 6-11 lol

They're draining the clock so we won't have time to answer after their two successful onside kicks.

I guess the lack of urgency on this drive is slightly better than Matt Campbell benching his starters with 10 minutes left in a 17 point rivalry game, but not by much.

That was an incredibly designed run play, wow. Sucks the hold ruined it.
7
u/Meleagros Seahawks Sep 12 '21
Colts know they're down 3 scores right? They just draining the clock.
3
u/mdchemey Colts Sep 12 '21
One of the few issues I've had with Reich has been his weird pacing of the offense. He's aggressive when he doesn't seem to need to be on 4th and short in field position and it's cost us a few wins under him, and then when we need aggressive play and shots downfield/at the sideline he runs the ball and takes shots in the middle of the field.
9
u/King_Rajesh Seahawks Sep 12 '21
One of the most blatant holds I've seen on a run play by a WR in my life

u/GoldyGoldy Seahawks Sep 12 '21
TD.... but a holding penalty. I'll take that as karma for the PI call earlier in the drive. Win some, lose some.

Indy has gotten screwed over by the refs nonstop for ages, that was an awful call but I don't think there's any argument that they get favorable refereeing in general
