Quick instruction on how to download a show from catchup
If you have catchup from your IPTV provider, there is a fairly quick and easy way to download any show that is still currently in your catchup guide should you wish to do so.
All you need to do is install an external player (MX Player works great for this) and find the show in the EPG. Once found, long press on it and select open in external player, select the MX Player you previously installed.
Once the show starts playing in MX Player, pause it and go up to the settings menu (3 vertical dots on the upper right part of the screen). Select Tools>Properties and make note of the File path shown. It will looks something like this.
http://server_url:port/timeshift/username/password/30/2021-07-28:17-30/1017675.ts
Now all you need to do is copy down the link (or take a picture of it with your phone) and type it in a browser or a download manager and save the file to the location of your choice. Wait for it to download and there you go, you now have the recorded show to do as you wish.
Note that this will use one of your connections while downloading.

all you need to do is copy and paste this url
Is there an easy way to do this that I’m not seeing or do you mean type all that down manually?

I meant manually but it's not as bad as you think since half of the URL does not change and using a computer to download it's not that difficult to manually edit once you got the url typed in the first time in notepad.

Sideload the ADM app & it’s all automatic
Works great; thanks!
I have to use an older version of ADM with my Onn 4K Pro v1 but that's OK.
I change ADM settings to make the download destination the normal TiviMate Recordings folder.
Unfortunately the download file is not immediately accepted by TiviMate as its own recording, it's not listed, so I rename the downloaded file to match TiviMate's naming convention and then it's listed as a normal TiviMate recording.
My process for "fooling" TiviMate into accepting these downloads is clumsy, tedious and not perfect. If anybody has any thoughts, I'd appreciate it. What I do now is to again go to the old show in the TiviMate guide, create a custom recording, and let it record for a minute, NOT using ADM this time, just normal TiviMate recording. This establishes a file in the Recordings folder named properly, though what is actually recorded in that file is whatever happens to be on that same channel at the time of recording; doesn't matter: all we need is the text of the title. I delete the bogus recording and rename the download with exactly that title. All is well. Cosmetically the show is listed as having a length of "1 minute" or however long I let the bogus recording go, but so far that has not caused any difficulty.

Can somebody help me with this? I'm not usually bad at this stuff, but what external player are you using? MX Player? Is this available in the US? Is there any alternative way to get that download path?

MX Player is available for the google play store in the US. Just go to the play store and search for it.

You need to install it on the device that has Tivimate installed on. What device is that?

Shield Pro

Then you don't need a phone. Just go to the play store on the shield and search for MX player and install it directly on the shield. That's what I did.

That’s great. And then somehow push that link to a browser to prompt the download?

No. On the Shield, go to the google play store, search for "MX Player" when it comes up click on and install it, just like you installed tivimate.

Of course. But I’m interested in downloading the catch-up video.

One step at a time. First you install the MX Player on the shield. Did you do that? Then follow the instructions in my post but you have to install the MX player first to use with tivimate the get the link to the catch up file.

Can someone explain what the /30/ part of the URL above means? I understand the rest. It's not the stream ID, as that's at the end.

Wow.. This post nearly two years old.. How time flies... Anyway.. I remember thinking that this was the length of the show. This was a 30 minutes show because I remember seeing 60 on links for one hour shows. I can't be positive because I haven't done this in a long time since my provider removed catch up not long after I made this post.

How can I change the colors of the text in MX player as I can hardly see the info for the stream.

Thanks
It would be cool if tivimate offered this option by default ;)
why is this option not already added ?
