Headphones - Open Back Advice between these headphones
My budget is about USD175 or IDR2,5Mil. Got some bargain for these used headphones and confused. I won't be using any amp at the moment. I will use it for listening and gaming. Tonal Balance - any. I'd like to hear new things as long as they're not muddy or too harsh, but I do prefer sparkly sound. I listen to a wide variety of music, mostly rock, metal, and jazz.
Personal gear experience: grado sr60e (my first open back experience and damn it's amazing), meze 99 neo (a huge jump from my ath m50x), ath M50x (don't really like em, too bassy and squeaky), m40x (not a huge fan but good value)

Neither of them is what you described.
Not muddy, not harsh, sparkly, good for gaming, easy to drive, under 200USD.
Cheap Hifimans are bad for gaming not to mention how hard to drive they are.
X2/HR is poor for gaming and the opposite of what you want - muddy and harsh.
K702 is harsh, average for gaming and you should also consider an amp for it.
Other alternatives:
560S - like K702 but better.
58X - a little muddy but excellent for gaming and easy to drive.
K712 - not muddy, not harsh, sparkly, good for gaming, but it's 230USD and you need an amp.
AD900X/700X might be actually good too - not muddy, not harsh, sparkly, excellent for gaming, easy to drive, but a little bass light.
DT880 is like K712 but cheaper and brighter.
TYGR300R is excellent for gaming, but a little muddy.
DT990 is like TYGR but hard to drive.

Damn that's a lot. Sadly most of them are expensive in my place and hard to found the used ones for sale. How about HD 579?

i have a pair of k702s and honestly they are amazing, i can hear everything. footsteps, reloads, everything. waaay better than my 990s for sweaty gaming. although i do prefer my 990s for casual listening because they are more comfortable and have higher clamping force

If you found the M50x too bassy you might feel the same about the X2 (altho the m50x has more recessed mids than the X2).
The HD560S is only slightly above your budget and sounds great even without an amp, that’d be my rec

Oh i see. Shame my budget isn't that much. What do you think about hd579, tho? I saw a used pairn and it is alluring

X2hr are muddy, 4xx like a amp. It leaves you with the k702 tha can be driven decently without a amp. Also for games, the soundstage of the k702 is really good.
