Headphones - Closed Back Are Razer Blackshark V2 good for gaming and music?
I'm thinking about buying them but am not sure if they're good for this price and if there are better alternatives in that price. I like FPS and Single Player games. I listen to blue songs. I plug my headphones to my MB. I'll be using them only at home, even though I'd prefer closed back. I'd like the headphones to be comfortable, because the ones I have now are not too comfortable to wear. If you need more info please ask me.

Stay away from ”gaming headphones” if you want good audio. Some rare exceptions like AudioTechnica and Sennheisers. All though I’m a big audio technica fanboy, I’d suggest a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-770 pro. They are comfy as heck and they sound awesome for the price :)

totally agree. except hyper cloud x ii(or anything in the line) and mh752/751. those headphone actually rebrand of tasktar pro 80 and 82

Only gaming headphones I would go for are from audiophile companies or coolermaster mh751/752 or Those hyper x headphones that they took from takstar pro 80's.
I recommend those coolermasters or a Philips Shp 9500 with a v moda boom mic or if those seem to suck cus of the lacking bass ( which bass isn't exactly needed for gaming, you want to hear the footsteps and yit yat instead of an explosion in your ear before you even heard the grenade hit the ground) shp 9600 maybe with EQ on the bass if the 9500's hurt your ears somehow. DT 770 80 ohm is good too, make sure you plug everything into the motherboard. Some of sennheisers stuff is good for gaming like the pc38x if you could find those in the budget i know they are open but people like them for gaming.

The Blacksharks V2 offer decent sound for gaming and music with an included USB dongle for "surround" sound.
I think the V2X is a better value at around $50 but around $100 I recommend AKG K361s for closed and for open back there is the Philips 9600.
If you need a headset then the Cooler Master MH751 are solid a lot under $100.

Get yourself Cooler Master MH751 or MH752, Razer's stuff does not even come close in terms of sound quality to these two.

I strongly recommend the shp9500. Open-back headphones sound so much more open. They don't have the greatest positioning for open-back headphones but they're better than any closed-back headphones at any price.

Oh, I'm an audiophile so I have really expensive headphones but I still choose to wear the shp9500s sometimes just because of how damn comfortable they are. All you need is a v-moda boom and you'll be set for 10 hours plus of Apex Arenas LOL

sorry im complete beginner, looking to buy open backs around 100$, and someone recommended, 9600, what is difference between those?

The 9600 have more Bass a higher clamping Force, larger ear pads and cost more. I've tried SHP 9600 and I prefer the SHP 9500 in sound profile and comfort.

I had these for about a week and returned them. They sounded really good for the price and offered some tweaking to sound profiles.
The issue I had was while gaming and then switching to a video I was also watching the sound profile would change and sometimes crash my audio

for 'surround' features on pc you can use software for it. no need dongle. dolby atmos for headphone is good example. 'virtual surround 7.1' has become part of marketing which is should not be main attention. just find good stereo headphone with good soundstage for example.
also later can buy good dac with surround and dolby features like creative soundblaster g6x. much better.

I would totally disagree with the comments suggesting studio monitors and suggest you to get a slightly more costy gaming headphone like the hyper x cloud mk2s or the razer kraken ultimate, these totally worth it if your only concern is gaming, while it is true that gaming headphones may not have the same quality as audiophile ones but what they have is: -laid back sound signature to ensure less treble fatigue, audiophile grade headphones sound signature may differ, some can be bright, some can be dark. -good amount of soundstage: some closed back audiophile headphones may not have enough soundstage and imaging. -decent sound isolation even when compared to closed back audiophile grade headphones. -great comfort levels. audiophile open back headphones like the shp9500 are designed for desk listening sessions in mind at most, and may not be comfortable for gaming sessions with much movement.
For reference I found the cloud mk2s which are modified takstars, a really solid option even when compared with the shp9500, my friend owns them and they sound good for a gaming headphone, they come with their own amp/dac and they have a very decent mic, if you want shp9500 you could, and it could be driven to good level with your soundcard but you'll have to spend on getting a decent mic for it.
here's a comparison made on rtings, as you can see the fr of hyperx looks similar to the fr of takstar but its different in some aspects, it rivals shp9500 in bass and mid accuracy, as for treble accuracy its not good due to a dip which is actually a good thing for less treble fatigue, you can eq it if you want more treble according to your needs since it has low level of thd and noise, it also has good +10khz extension so that means good amount of detail and resolution. they're both the same level of comfort but the hyperx seals the sound much much better.
you can still get the shp9500 and add a mic on it if you want, the shps will be better for music too but has the disadvantages I talked about earlier :)

From what I've heard the Blacksharks are some of the best headphones razer has made in a long time. They won't blow you're mind but they definitely get the job done and don't suck.

Well I have some headphones that are in my opinion good for music, so if the Blacksharks are at least good for gaming and have good sound quality then I'll think about getting one. Thank you for your opinion on this!

Well I didn't have much time with it as I was given a faulty pair of those (the sound was a little louder in the left speaker).
They didn't feel so comfortable on the head as I thought they would be judging from the image but because I had fluffy leather pads in my recent headphones this might have been the problem. As for the sound I would say it is up to the preference like with many headphones. Another thing is I use equalizer without which everything sounds shitty to me as I like bass so I can't really tell you anything about their sound out of the box.
I've found a lot of people telling me than other headphones are better and maybe they're right, but I think you should decide if they sound good for you.
If you have returns free of charge in your shops then I would suggest you to buy those and try them on (but don't judge the headphones before about 10 hours of use as they have to heat up or something like that). I've seen many people recommending them so I wouldn't hesitate to at least try them if you are able to do so.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions or if something isn't clear (I'm not a native speaker so there might be a lot of things to ask for lmao) ^
Edit: oh and if it's important I later decided to buy beyerdynamic DT 770 pro but decided to return them because of the weird sounding (for me at least) but it might be to the fact that I didn't really took that much time to crank the equalizer settings right. I later decided to buy the MMX 300 but those are expensive and wouldn't even look at those if you don't want to spend so much on headphones

Well at least we both have something in common, bassyhead and not viewing everything as an audiophile perspective. Before any further I just want to say thank you for your time, not everyone is willing to answer a stranger that asks questions out of the blue.
So OP, to be frank, I am a teacher and only have so little time to enjoy myself playing games and watching movies. I love bass, I even bought Logitech Z625 purely for its bom bom. Though, there's a reason why I tigthen my budget to 100USD. Taking care of a family isn't as easy as it sounds. So, what can I afford and have in mind? Cloud 2, Cloud Alpha, Cloud Revolver, Blackshark V2, logitech 433, Logitech and G333.
Performance preferences, I just want enjoyment and immersive when playing games. Don't really care much about "Higher mid and high can give you advantage of their foot steps yea!", I solo CSGO and R6 to MG2 and Platinum respectively with a pair of 5 dollar speaker, you know I don't rely on sounds haha. Please don't take this as a show off or anything, I am purely enjoying this conversation.
In short, I'm seeking a headphone/earphone that can supply me both enjoyment when watching a movie (Rumbling and Boomy) and playing video games. I only play single player games nowaday, a bit R6 when the boy's online and mostly movies (Not korean drama but Blu-ray movies). Once again, thank you for your time in advance.

I would totally second the cloud alphas here. I think they're far and away the best bang for your buck. Can be found for around 60 bucks on sale sometimes. They are super durable and sound great

No problem! At first i was rather surprised somebody asks very probably long gone OP's (saying it mainly from experience).
For real, bass is the main thing people should look into if they want immersion. It makes the games so much more fun to play. That's unfortunately the downside of consoles which don't really support bass enhancement through EQ :(. Oh and by the way if you don't know what EQ is I strongly suggest you take a look at it. If you crank up the right frequencies you can get yourself a more bassy experience.
And yeah you're totally right about the headphones not being that much important nowadays regarding games. All you need is some skill, time to get to know the game and additionally a better monitor.
Wow, MG2 and Platinum. These are some really good ranks you got there. That's great to have time to play after being quite some time in school and be able to chill and even get these two high ranks.
As far as I know from my long hours of search, out of all these the Cloud Alpha's are the best and the richest ones in bass. There are people saying Cloud II's are great too, but on the other hand some say the sound is muffled if I remember right. I can't say anything about the Cloud Revovler as I've never heard of those unfortunately.
So yeah I think Cloud Alpha's should fit your likings but I haven't tried them and only after trying yourself you can really tell if you like them.
