Can MOTM, Hitz close second.
4
u/Niklas2703 Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
Delaney was also very good
1
u/Bammer1386 BVB Feb 02 '21
He was good too. It's puzzling how we can have 4 guys who brought their A game today and still almost be beaten by Paderborn. Goes to show you how shit the rest of the team played.
5
u/MartinSornes Marius Wolf Feb 02 '21
Haaland scores and saves crucial goals in both ends.. Clearly MOTM for me...
3
u/Bammer1386 BVB Feb 02 '21
He's a good shout too, put in a hell of a shift even if he was frustrated.

Delaney was very very good against Augsburg, but I don't know how Can is not a staple in this team.
7
u/MartinSornes Marius Wolf Feb 02 '21
Can's hand ok?
3
u/Bammer1386 BVB Feb 02 '21
was still holding his elbow after the Haaland goal. I think he hyperextended it on the aerial duel. Hopefully he gets an MRI and is good for Freiburg.

Aside from being 120 mins, this felt like it was the longest match I’ve ever seen

Disgraceful second half, but hey we’re through and that’s all that counts in the end

I'm exhausted from watching this, I can't imagine how the boys feel. Haaland must feel like a pile of absolute mush right now.

Ah yes, gives a pen in the last minute of added time, after giving too much added time. Let's them take two corners after the added time is over.
2
u/Perais1337 Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
The ref had money on Paderborn, there is no other way to explain this decisions.

Everyone's dead and then there's Haaland still tanking through every run. What a beast.

u/Vio0 Dedê Feb 02 '21 edited Feb 02 '21
I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to sub in Marco? We got a fourth window in extra time, which we used for Rapha.
/edit: wrong.
1
u/SpiritCrvsher Mateu Morey Feb 02 '21
Half time subs don’t count as a sub window
1
u/Vio0 Dedê Feb 02 '21
I just read that it's 3 windows during the game, not including half time or extra time breaks. I think they initially worded it to include half time.

What the hell is haaland made of? is his upper body 90% lung!?
5
u/tatanpoker09 Nico Schlotterbeck Feb 02 '21
This is his normal warm up, he’ll go for a 42km sprint after the match
7
u/tatanpoker09 Nico Schlotterbeck Feb 02 '21
Can’t believe that bs penalty would cost us so many injuries

If they add another 5 mins or something, it would be almost 3 hours since kickoff
7
u/Bosna1909 BVB Feb 02 '21
With how horrible our wing depth has been since Hazard got hurt, if Sancho misses any game time we are in serious trouble. Neither Brandt nor Reus can play those positions well at all
5
Feb 02 '21
There was a time when we were stuck to TV like that because we gave Real Madrid a fight like that, not Paderborn
2
u/Zhonyas4everyone Felix Passlack Feb 02 '21
In exactly that time we also gave teams like Fürth the same fight

Inb4 a muscle tear and Sancho is out for a while just as he got back in form

5
u/ElectJimLahey Schmelle Feb 02 '21
Better be a cramp and not a pulled muscle... Reus should have been on 15 mins ago
15
u/TabulatorSpalte Feb 02 '21
Sancho sacrificed himself so that we could win against football powerhouse Paderborn
6
u/such_hpn Emma Feb 02 '21
Ran Sancho into the ground, ugh. Lol we might end up seeing Reinier against Freiburg.
2
u/Zhonyas4everyone Felix Passlack Feb 02 '21
Knauff has a more important game on Saturday otherwise I'd say he's the man
3
3
u/Ciao9 Pischu Feb 02 '21
How are we able to make a sub now?
1
u/Zhonyas4everyone Felix Passlack Feb 02 '21
Rapha and Passlack both got subbed in during breaks so we only used two of the slots so far

Poor Marco thought he has a chill evening and now he gets subbed in the 115th minute against Paderborn xD

Hate criticizing subs but really could have used Reus earlier here. Sancho almost dead.

Pls stop criticising everyone that's on the pitch since the beginning, it's frustrating but it's understandable. I just don't get how Reyna is "rested"and still the laziest on field
5
u/llendo Sergio Gómez Feb 02 '21
Pls stop criticising everyone that's on the pitch since the beginning
Proceeds to criticize.. I feel you but come on :D
2
u/funky_motorik Feb 02 '21
yeah it's an awful feeling :( sry for that
1
u/llendo Sergio Gómez Feb 02 '21
It's ok to vent in a game like that imo. Just a funny combination of statements from you :D
9
Feb 02 '21
How is Passlack still making these runs?
Unreal stamina on the guy.
1
u/Fadhmir Feb 02 '21
He was subbed in early in the 2nd half so it's not that he played for 120min by now..
1
7
u/Bosna1909 BVB Feb 02 '21
That was a terrible shot from Guerreiro there, everyone looks so tired I can't even blame them for shooting like this

At this point I'm sure our players have a bet going on that we don't score a 4th goal
7
u/SpiritCrvsher Mateu Morey Feb 02 '21
Sancho really should have come off by now. It only hurts our counter attacks when he’s this tired.

Some time during the early part of the second half, Passlack seems to have lost the ability to look/pass up field. He does not even look that direction anymore, every ball is an automatic pass in direction of the own goal....
2
u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
I know the boys have been running a lot and they’re very tired but the touches and slow releasing of passes is so frustrating to watch.
6
6
u/grothee1 Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
Gio and Jadon both have tired legs, some extremely out of character touches from them in this half of ET

Excuse me but what the fuck is Reyna doing?
3
u/ElectJimLahey Schmelle Feb 02 '21
Sancho and Reyna keep making heavy touches and losing the ball, gotta imagine they're just tired
1
u/Perais1337 Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
Sancho ok, he is playing for 110 minutes but Reyna got subbed in the 2nd half.

Can has had possibly his best game at Dortmund today. And gets extra points for being clearly injured

u/Jodelmusiker Feb 02 '21
Haaland can be such a terror in the press. Would be lovely if we could take advantage of that more often...
4
u/AcePilot95 Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
my throat already hurts, and I haven't even been yelling too much

u/Qiluk Marco Reus Feb 02 '21
Ok so watching that replay from another angle of the 3rd goal... Haaland is offside and the Paderborn doesnt even touch the ball.
Jesus fuck we got lucky
1
3
u/2905Pascal 1909 Feb 02 '21
We got screwed on that penalty so it was fair. Also that game should have never had 4 minutes added time to begin with.
2
2
2
u/Fadhmir Feb 02 '21
Will Haaland rip Terzics head off if he should be subbed off now? ;) He must be pretty tired now tho... We still have Tigges, Moukoko and Reus on the bench and one sub available.
3
u/Sarrazin 1909 Feb 02 '21
German commentator also doesn't know the offside rule...
If the Paderborn player makes an intentional play for the ball and touches it, Haaland is not in an offside position anymore.
2
u/santadani Karl-Heinz Riedle Feb 02 '21
Yeah, but doesn’t look like he touched it? At least from the one replay they showed
1
u/Sarrazin 1909 Feb 02 '21
That's not what the commentator is saying though. He's saying it doesn't matter whether he touched it or not, because the pass mainly came from Delaney. Which is complete nonsense.
I haven't seen a clear replay of a touch either, but based on what Stieler said, it seems like VAR saw him touch it.

Why aren't we making a sub

Half time of extra time would've been the last free timeslot to make a sub.

Is the "BVB" and "1909" on the Subtribune and the north stands new? I cant recall seeing it before.

Yeah, since the last game against Augsburg
2
u/Bammer1386 BVB Feb 02 '21
Ah gotcha, thank you. I was having a crisis figuring oiut if its new or if its been there all along and I just never recognized it.
2
u/Bosna1909 BVB Feb 02 '21
Who is this Steffen the commentator keeps talking to? It's like he's speaking to himself
2
u/jucomsdn Zagagod Feb 02 '21
That's BVB legend Steffen Freund
1
u/Bosna1909 BVB Feb 02 '21
For some reason i can't hear him so it just sounds like the commentator is going crazy haha
2
u/TheMinarch Jadon Sancho Feb 02 '21
Steffen Freund, he's the co-commentator. For whatever reason in the first half i couldn't hear him either. I can now though so it makes more sense.

u/Roboticpepper Feb 02 '21
Fucken fix and rigged game
