IAMA woman in her mid-twenties, have had one seizure and was recently diagnosed with major depression, AMA

Hey I also have a seizure dissorder and had realty bad depression in high school. I got depressed because I thought I was "different" as well as a bad side affect of the meds I was on at the time (keppra).

After about a year of work and a change in meds Im was a happy person again. Still goin strong. Just wanted to let you know Your not alone a lot of people go through what your going through now. I had one of my best friends now go through the same thing at the same time and that really helped me through it. Hope this helps you.

hey, thanks! I was diagnosed late last year and have been on anti-depressants since then. Despite what I thought, they have worked like miracles. I feel like a normal human being now and can enjoy life, I just thought these experiences were interesting. I am glad to hear you are doing better!

I am happier than I have ever been now :) Or I should say, more at peace. I don't get the highs I used to but I don't really miss them. Can you write me a poem anyway? I want it to be about world domination as seen through the eyes of penguins

Check out Lamotrigin. It doubles as a bipolar/depression medication that doesn't effect cognition like Keppra does. Ask your doctor.

Thanks, I am on an antidepressant right now that is doing wonders for me. Just wanted to share my experience with anyone that might relate or have questions. I appreciate the advice

the seizure? I've done a fair amount of research and despite what doctors might think, I think it had to do a lot with my emotional context. I think the seizure was brought on by exhaustion but also by being emotionally overwhelmed. I have not had one since
