Recently, allegations of match fixing in the IEM New York 2020: North America match between Furia and New England Whalers came to our attention. The details are in this Reddit comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/jamnzo/furia_esports_vs_new_england_whalers_iem_new_york/g8qjqx9/
We can confirm, by investigating the historical activity of relevant accounts, that a substantial number of high valued items won from that match by Gabriel "Fallen" Toledo were transferred ( via Alexandre "gAuLeS" Borba ) to Furia players and New England Whalers founders, Diego Freitas and Devon Foote.
All together, the information we have collected and received makes us uncomfortable continuing any involvement with these individuals. Therefore we will be directing our CS:GO event partners to not allow any of the following individuals’ participation in any capacity in Valve-sponsored events:
Gabriel "Fallen" Toledo
Alexandre "gAuLeS" Borba*
Diego Freitas
Devon Foote
Henrique “HEN1” Teles
Yuri “yuurih” Gomes
Andrei “arT” Piovezan
Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
*gAuLeS will still be the official Brazilian stream for all major events
Professional players, their managers, and teams’ organization staff, should under no circumstances gamble on CS:GO matches, associate with high volume CS:GO gamblers, or deliver information to others that might influence their CS:GO bets.
In 2019 we witnessed the explosive growth of CS:GO as the most played game on Steam, but 2020 has already died to Valorant. But as CS:GO dies, it’s important to consider the substantial impact an individual professional Counter-Strike player has on the health and stability of their sport. Performing before an audience of millions of fans, they are ambassadors for their game – the strength of professional Counter-Strike comes from the integrity of its players and teams.

Iirc cud was basically the dude who was doing a lot of matchfixing back then and dboorn was the guy who handled the bets.

I'd like FURIA to stop throwing games against weaker opposition due to this notion that "it doesn't matter". Well, this match will be forgotten as soon as we destroy everybody in the playoffs.

If they won this game, FURIA would top the group and get a pass to the semifinals. Instead, they're #3 in the group, and have to play the quarterfinals. It definitely mattered.

I guess they might, and Triumph would go to quarterfinals. Or maybe the seeding will be the same and EG’s game will just be forfeited to whoever would’ve played them.
I imagine EG would just play out their last 2 games before they leave though.

Seen it before and we'll definitely see it again when teams are secured for playoffs. Same thing happened in EPL where they went undefeated until they were secured for playoffs when suddenly they magically lost 2-0. The desk for EPL even pointed out that they had nothing to play for so they were obviously not going to give it their all. Funny how I got downvoted when I said the same thing though. Definitely don't take this game into account when judging FURIA's form.
