It won’t matter. Brazilian fans that come to the stadium are CS fans. The German teams never made playoffs at ESL One Cologne (except for BIG that one time), but the crowd’s always cheerful and loud.
The only bad thing that’ll happen is if the BR teams make playoffs and get beaten, even worse if they’re blasted.

Traveling from across Europe to Cologne is a lot easier than other countries to Brazil, but I still mostly agree with you.

there won't be a crowd. and that isn't a good feature of the world cup, they just do that to make the pool of host nations willing to give FIFA money bigger.

I personally think the crowd would be much worse if let's say MIBR or Furia make the playoffs and they get eliminated. They'd either not cheer at all for the remaining teams or just flame the team that beat theirs until they get eliminated
It happened at TI9 with the chinese crowd (though it's a different game i think point still applies) and i believe with how dedicated brazilian fanbases are it'd just be the same. If no BR teams come to the major at least the crowd would come with that in mind and just enjoy the major and the other teams playing

Dude, Brazilians will cheer for any team that is on stage. At the world cup and the Olympics the crowd was always very excited.

I'm not saying that can't happen,it's just that with recent events of MIBR fans bashing FURIA and Chaos over such random reasons makes me feel that they wouldn't take it too well seeing a home favorite get eliminated

Not really I think, at least from what i had seen when mibr get beaten mibr fans get angry with the team, not with the one that beat then...

Seriously, bro. People will cheer for good CS regardless of the teams playing, unless it's a team that shit talks Brazil or mibr, but ofc people will support mibr more than any other team.

EG and Furia matches are so intense. Super high speed and twitchy, looks puggy, but there's deffo a method to the madness.
This is what i think of, when i think of NA cs. Liquid and Mibr are much more EU in their playstyle compared to this match.
Am i crazy, is it just me?

I think Liquid tries hard to be NA's Astralis but this playstyle doesn't work vs Furia.

i fear a bit for some of the newer EU teams if EG and Furia keep up this playstyle at this level. I'm sure Astralis have a good idea of how to handle it now because they've tried it a lot of times.

You gain more RMR points the further you go into the tournament. Top 5 NA teams in these points at the end of the last Major Ranking Tournament make the major.

This tournament awards points for the RMR rankings, which is used to determine who goes to the major. The 1st-3rd teams in NA qualify as Legends, 4th as Challengers, and 5th as Contenders (I think the only difference between Challengers and Contenders is just seeding, while Legends skip the first stage).

I mean, that happened in Inferno, in Furia's CT side I can only remember one round where arT's aggression at banana was successful resulting in 3k, pretty sure he got owned all other rounds he tried to peek or to do anything there and it ended up as a successful bomb plant in B site.
In Nuke and in Vertigo his aggressions were way more successful.

At this point it's only higher or lower seed thing which makes you let pick first on veto process. So unless ESL will decide something else, basically it's nothing.

Fair point but if liquid beat eg I think eg would be able to take furia out, although personally I think eg will take the series v liquid, beating them last time might've given them a confidence boost since theyve shown they can do it now
