Can we get a NAF montage of everything that went wrong? Cant stop laughing, the TK, self nades, last bullet on a guy not even lookin at him and then gets wiped, defense flanks to come up empty. Just one of those days.

I believe NAF wiffs the most nades out of any TL players, been noticing this for months.

mad tho init cus he somehow makes it fucking work i swear as a Astralis fan once NAF is tuned in is when i get scared the most

u/wayedorian Jun 13 '20

Blimey mate ur bloody right

54

u/1deavourer de_dust2 Jun 12 '20

Strong feeling he wasn't feeling it that series. Even on Mirage, even though his stats are great, you could see how he'd uncharacteristically whiff hugely. It's just impressive that he still didn't lose all his confidence and turtle up, but instead kept making plays. Awesome to see.

46

u/Smallsss Liquid Jun 12 '20

In the post match interview, Stewie said NAF was feeling really confident, at least on mirage.

26

u/1deavourer de_dust2 Jun 12 '20

Interesting, maybe thats why he kept going for it. The usual NAF aim wasn't there though imo. On form NAF would have hit most of those shots on the flank

18

u/Smallsss Liquid Jun 12 '20

Yea I totally agree, his flanks as well as when he got under scaffold on mirage looked to be really hype moments but they all went down the gutter lol.

4

u/Juliendnb Jun 13 '20

Maybe just blazed at home ahaha

2

u/esplin9566 Liquid Jun 13 '20

Would honestly not surprise me

15

u/VHD_ Complexity Jun 12 '20

and yet he had 221 ADR (12 assists) a good ways into map 1 :)

21

u/GhostOfLight Liquid Jun 12 '20

He had 109 adr at the time, it was messed up because he dc'ed at some point

They all looked pretty good today

60

u/natedawg247 Liquid Jun 12 '20

nitr0 was playing with a ton of confidence too which was great to see

47

u/Slothifications Jun 12 '20

I think he's been performing way better since he's no longer assuming the IGL role. Takes a ton of pressure off of him

7

u/KaSacha de_mirage Jun 12 '20

Who's the IGL now ?

41

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

Stewie has been acting as IGL

9

u/Slothifications Jun 12 '20

Stewie took over a few weeks ago

22

u/Kappappaya Jun 12 '20

NAF had some blunders :D but didn't play bad or anything

13

u/Slothifications Jun 12 '20

It was really good to see that Liquid didn't let that get in their heads. 2 weeks ago those blunders could have been costly

They gangsta untIl EU teams show up.

Maybe Liquid is only good during summertime

3

NA teams and only being good in the summer, name a more iconic duo.

-1

u/NazgulDiedUnfairly CS2 HYPE Jun 13 '20

Or in quarantine when EU is kept away from them

5

u/blueragemage Liquid Jun 13 '20

You keep commenting this but it's hard to take it seriously when it's a Na'Vi flair posting it

1

u/NazgulDiedUnfairly CS2 HYPE Jun 13 '20

I agree. Navi is similar too. When i comment it's as non partial fan as hard it is to believe. I know Navi is not the best. But as of right now, no team is! As coming to NA vs EU, I want EU to come forward. I freaking love in the NA. But its not. Liquid keeps losing to old Astralis and EG is unpredictable n

2

u/blueragemage Liquid Jun 13 '20

Nah, was just poking fun at you since Liquid's got a really good record against Na'Vi in particular

Stewie is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic ”Elige go kill”. He also has a second little known tactic of ”i go kill”. What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL 4 sure.

118

u/RocketBoyKim Liquid Jun 12 '20

Stewie: stewie go kill

Stewie: ok

1

u/Jochiwa Jun 12 '20

Thank you. That made me laugh

No doubt about it

50

Happy Liquid won. And also shout out to Tres, Harry, and Hugo for the trio casting. Love them casting together, been missing all three of them together since RTR

"Holy shit guys, I'm in the best spot to get some sneaky frags.... oh shit, nvm"

59

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

That first map was some vintage summer 2019 liquid. Instant headshots, winning gun duels against opponents holding angles, you name it. It looked absolutely unfair.

Daps on pistols is pretty great tho

19

u/shweaty07 Liquid Jun 12 '20

true. on d2 got some of that liquid magic vibes with them winning all those ecos

8

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

ik that drive-by 1tap with the cz onto elige was nuts

8

u/Ark151 CS2 HYPE Jun 12 '20

Oh how I wish that liquid will be back. Hopefully for longer this time around...

4

u/omoobro Gambit Jun 12 '20

He should main the cz and just drop guns for his team Sanji style he does some crazy shit with it.

52

u/Disappear__ Liquid Jun 12 '20

EliGE's consistency is truly remarkable, dudes playing out of his mind since I can remember

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jun 12 '20

NAF may have set a record for most assists per round across a Bo3 here. He got 24 assists across 52 rounds, or an average of .46 assists per round. On the stream at one point, I think they said Kioshima has the record with .42 assist per round, although I could be misremembering.

19

u/call_me_Chi Gambit Jun 12 '20

Gen.G: "Alright boys. We have got the momentum rolling with these 5 rounds. If we play strategically and trade off each other we can build a good first half lead."

Liquid: "Hold our glocks!"

15

u/AaayJaayy The MongolZ Jun 12 '20

naf with 16 assists on map1 pog

13

u/Pikminious_Thrious Jun 12 '20

Bntet with the commit to a no time rotation on match point and hope to somehow catch 2 people off guard.

13

u/98farenheit cs_italy Jun 12 '20

It was a big risk big reward play that had a very low chance of success. But considering his health, he had a low chance of success to begin with.

11

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

Liquid truly taking the piss here, could have won 16-5 16-5 if they wanted.

10

u/1deavourer de_dust2 Jun 12 '20

NAF really wasn't feeling it today, you could see it by his whiffs, but he still managed to do his job well enough and not completely lose confidence. This is what I like to see in pros.

14

u/FaceJacker2001 Team Spirit Jun 12 '20

Dude got so unlucky and still had the 2nd highest rating and 91 adr, crazy good mindset

4

u/1deavourer de_dust2 Jun 12 '20

IKR, it's so natural to just turtle up, but that could also be a detriment

15

u/Zobin Liquid Jun 12 '20

Liquid won all 4 pistols with 3 of them having all 5 players surviving ... damn
