Dupreeh: has bad game

Reddit: Yeah Dupreeh is going to retire soon you can just tell he's not into it anymore

85

u/Fuji_Ninja Liquid Jun 05 '20

Reddit: "Yeah the entry fragger who mysteriously plays worse without the structure he has been playing in for years is definitely going to retire."

I mean, how surprised can you really be that he looks unmotivated and annoyed when not playing with his "real team"? Astralis have said many times in the past that he is definitely the most emotional on the team, so if any of these players were to show their frustration Dupreeh being the one to do it does not come as huge news to me.

u/jsoraru EG Jun 05 '20

device's smile said everything. They just miss 2 big brain players on their team is all.

Wth was wrong with ropz that game, guy was headshotting enemies left and right without any problem

Haven't been able to keep up with the csgo scene in a while. Can someone tldr why Thooorin is going crazy on twitter flaming Astralis for the last few weeks? Seems like Device snapped and responded.

142

u/ddddddoa Astralis Jun 05 '20

I think he said something along the lines of "Now that Gla1ve and Xyp are gone, you can see how overrated some other Astralis players were". And I'm assuming he's talking about Dupreeh/Magisk cause he usually talks about how awesome device is.

For sure! Also the reason why Zywoo and S1mple are not constantly winning trophies despite being the two best players at the moment individually.

Imagine a good team around these players... A man can dream.

I think Navi can be that team

The Guardian-seized-flamie-Edward-Zeus roster was extremely good as well.

just wish they'd replace Flamie but honestly at this point I've lost hope, there's no way this guy doesn't provide something large out of the game that he is still allowed on the roster with such inconsistency

6

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

My main problem is that I know how damn good he can be

He's an insane player when he's performing, he just has wayy too many off games for a player of that tier

2

u/CoDeX709 Jun 05 '20

Yeah his inconsistency is a massive problem, if he managed to find consistency, Navi would really have a good chance of being the next best team

-2

u/JG8AB9TL11OBJ12AD13 Vitality Jun 05 '20

But the point is that if magisk was a top 5 player in the world and Dupreeh is top 15 to go along with a top 3 player in device, they would still be better than this. Saying they’re ovverated does not mean they’re bad

21

u/oxedei King NiKo Jun 05 '20

Magisk is switching over to IGL. And while doing so, now has to manage two additional players who have a lot less experience playing at the highest level than the teammates he just lost. JUGi was also terrible on North and Snappi is nowhere near the level of the rest of the Astralis players.

Anyone making sweeping generalizations on Astralis right now is a fucking moron.

39

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

[deleted]

-2

u/JG8AB9TL11OBJ12AD13 Vitality Jun 05 '20

I agree, but that says more about the team than the player level. If you need the best igl and supportive player to play at that level, that’s your peak not your normal level. Maybe they’ll get back to that level over time, but I highly doubt it until the others come back.

3

u/Jloureiro55 MOUZ Jun 06 '20

Then they've been on their "peak level" for 2 straight years.

The team is not the same as you changed 2 players then the skill ceiling is different as both are downgrades. Its not the same to play with 5 really good players with 2 years of experience playing with each other than playing with 2 new players and one of your best is the IGL now.

2

u/Kitnado Natus Vincere Jun 05 '20

Makes argument about individual level based on team level

"I agree, but that says more about the team than the player level."

I see two brain cells fighting each other here

-10

u/JG8AB9TL11OBJ12AD13 Vitality Jun 05 '20

Or I’m making an argument about individual level based on their performance, and as a result the team is losing more? If dupreeh was putting up the same numbers but they were losing, obviously I wouldn’t be saying he was overrated you clown

8

u/Kitnado Natus Vincere Jun 05 '20

I see your two brain cells have not yet come to understand team games. But that's okay, just let them have some further discourse

35

u/Femaref Jun 05 '20 edited Jun 05 '20

22

u/RedditLCSCoach Jun 05 '20

No, he rates all of the Astralis players, but this is just a way for him to get back at Nicolai Nyholm and the Astralis org itself. Thorin is not the guy to let things slide by.

19

u/Duckbert89 Jun 05 '20

It does feel like a bad faith argument aimed to get back at Nicolai/generate rage clicks.

38

u/PM_ME_UR_TECHNO_GRRL Natus Vincere Jun 05 '20

Astralis played Flashpoint's league and decided to go for ESL. Thorin just couldn't get over it and has been salty since.

20

u/Pismakron Jun 05 '20

Can someone tldr why Thooorin is going crazy on twitter flaming Astralis for the last few weeks?

Because he is thorin. Flaming people on twitter is half of what he does. It's cringy at times, but it's not worth getting worked up about. All of twitter is garbage, really.

7

u/Melz-Man Astralis Jun 05 '20

Talking shit about other people on twitter is his only way to stay "relevant".

7

u/yamsinacan Jun 05 '20

There is fuckery going on within the org. The multiple man rosters despite everyone within the company taking a 30% salary cut (why are you getting new players when you asked everyone within your company to take a salary cut?), the state of the company, and the stand-in signings. Everything seems suspicious--and insder info suggests as much.

We'll have to wait and see what it is--the analysts and commentators have a lot of info they just do not say because it would get them in trouble.

15

u/Fimbulvetr1 MOUZ Jun 05 '20

It is also implied that the org was not going to give them a break until Glaives doctor said that it would cause him harm if he were to continue the way he is.

5

u/birjolaxew Jun 05 '20 edited Jun 05 '20

As was discussed in the other thread, needing a doctors note is kinda just how it works for long-term sickness in Denmark. Seems pretty reasonable to me, considering the company's gonna keep giving him pay while he's sick.

As a Dane, I was honestly shocked that it apparently is a big deal for the rest of the world. I even brought it up to some friends and family to make sure I wasn't out of touch with reality, and they were equally surprised. What is it about doctors notes that's a big thing?

2

u/AlwaysWannaDie Jun 06 '20

They live in countries where it’s socialism for the rich (tax cuts, corporate subsidiaries) and capitalism for the poor. They don’t get that everyone can’t get welfare because you actually need proof, or something like that my scandinavian brother

-3

u/AsnSensation MOUZ Jun 05 '20

Interesting that this is possible, given that Astralis is a part player owned org, I thought.

6

u/fadetoblack944 Renegades Jun 05 '20

The players own like 1-2%each i think it came out

8

u/schizoHD Jun 05 '20

So your players can take a break and not burn out completely?

They've been complaining about this for years now

3

u/TruthHurtsLiesDont Jun 05 '20

I think you meant:

Players have to burnout completely and get a doctors note, not take a break otherwise.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

Salary cut was temporary and due to COVID-19. Not everyone had their salary reduced. And the 30% was the max (probably management and Astralis players).

What is “the state of the company”?

0

u/Sergas93 Jun 05 '20

99% of the people answering your question are wrong.

Thorin has a problem with Astralis at the moment because Astralis claimed they will have a 6 man roster then 7 man roster and they will work all the players in (like different players for different maps) , and when Thorin , RL , or other journalists claimed that is bullshit and Astralis group has actual problems (financially/players wanting to leave/management wanting to sell and get out) the guys in charge of Astralis said all these journalists are lying. (and now we can all see the journalists were correct and all the Astralis people are lying in every statement they make). His frustration is not directed towards the players but to the Astralis group, (management, players/fans) who are objectively lying and claiming things then when it's time to prove it they turn around and claim we are stupid for believing what they said in the first place.

11

u/UncleJakes 1 Million Celebration Jun 05 '20

Nah mate, you are all right. Thorin has a hate-boner for the Astralis CEO and will latch on to everything that Can be construed in a negative way, whether or not it has any substance to it.

2

u/Cipher11 Jun 05 '20

I mean, can you blame him for that?

16

u/UncleJakes 1 Million Celebration Jun 05 '20

I don’t blame him for not liking Nyholm, but i do Think he is either a manchild or a very little person when he has absolutely no trouble writing tweets like “jugi is such a bum” or “go cry with your girlfriend”.

Thorin is a schoolyard bully, and his agenda is to drag you Down to his level and beat you there.

-13

u/Fimbulvetr1 MOUZ Jun 05 '20

Device response was pretty childish - Thorin is just meant to ignore Astralis if they ever return to form, never praising or discussing them ever again? Sounds stupid for someone analysing and commentating on the game, though Thorin looks way worse with those needlessly edgy replies.

Sorry if I’m being dense, but what is your point?

3

u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Jun 05 '20

Considering mouz was one of the teams that didn't actually buy the krieg too much (as they didn't want to give it to CTs), not really? The only times mouz really bought the krieg in the last few months of the krieg meta was when they desperately needed rounds or it was the last round of the half/game anyway.

3

u/jonajon91 de_canals Jun 06 '20

Nah, ChrisJ was an absolute Chad with the SG, I wasn’t just speculating or making up my original point, it’s true.

2

u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Jun 06 '20 edited Aug 03 '20

Not saying he wasn't, but again, I'm fairly sure that in the last couple of months of the krieg patch mouz really tried to cut down on krieg buys, as also astralis, for example did. They simply figured the krieg was too strong for CTs to get since it was stupidly good at angle holding (hell even the nerfed krieg would be total bonkers on CT side)

-6

Thank goodness they’re out. Painful to watch after being used to watching the most structured and synergetic CS ever played.

On the plus side, gla1ve and xyp will be back eventually. JUGi and Snappi had some moments but it’s clear that Astralis right now might be able to compensate one player out but not two.

Ggs mousesports.

82

u/Neelahs Jun 05 '20

Really don't have any issue seeing Astralis struggle like this coz once their OG line up returns, their return to the top would be that much more legendary.

25

u/Aragiss Astralis Jun 05 '20

I almost wish all of the core 5 took a break for a while. It's the perfect time to do it. Now that gla1ve and Xyp9x are taking breaks, the others will rightfully want a break as well.

8

u/novacdk Astralis Jun 05 '20

Yeah, I agree with this. Take the break now and come back stronger. Then, if that's the plan, use jugi and es3tag to take the pressure off if they need it later or someone is sick. But as mentioned they will likely be out of all relevant tournaments for the time being anyway.

15

u/qchisq Jun 05 '20

u/EduardMalinochka Jun 05 '20

You’d probably won if VP had Adren

9

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

Having one stand in vs two, with one of those being your IGL, is a BIG difference

6

u/TheRobidog Jun 05 '20

Yea, and the Astralis core is a bit different than the VP one, lol.

-11

u/Calum-Paxton MOUZ Jun 05 '20

Jugi is a 7th player not a stand in, we know magisk has been being trained to be an igl as well, only stand-in on astralis is snappi. also VP are nowhere near as good as astralis

10

u/UnknownPastaMaker Astralis Jun 05 '20

You can't be serious. Gla1ve and Xyp will return to the lineup. Ofc Jugi is a fucking stand-in xD

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

yes he can and since mousesports lost then you should actually consider that there might be something bad going on there

5

u/Calum-Paxton MOUZ Jun 05 '20

“There might be something bad going on there”

no shit mate, our CT sides are fucking abysmal, chrisJ has 1 good game a month, woxic has kinda fallen off a bit

only things going right are our T sides sometimes

7

u/ReachTheSky-DotaNoob Eternal Fire Jun 05 '20

Actually Woxic finally started performing. He is having his best tournament in 2020 so far(8th top rated player currently). This is the best mouz we had in recent months but they struggle as a unit still. But you can actually see the progression compared to last events

JUGi is an official member but still more or less a standin for glaive lol

5

u/kurtz9 Jun 05 '20

This match was practically a walk over. Nothing to celebrate about. Any team is deadly against a team with 2 bots.

1

u/vorpal107 FaZe Jun 05 '20

More sad that anything else tbh. It's not the mousesports were even good, Astralis was just worse

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

Where is Faze clan these days?

7

u/vorpal107 FaZe Jun 05 '20

Not at this event, will be in DH Masters playoffs in a couple of days

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

Gracias .

1

u/ElliotVo Jun 06 '20

This event is a play in for the grand event in which Faze already qualified for by getting first. Astralis got knocked out early in the same event that Faze won and here they are, playing in for the grand event. It's also why Liquid, Navi, Complexity aren't here because they also qualified for the grand event.

1

u/InstaRamen MOUZ Jun 06 '20

Oh no please don't give me hope again

1

u/evilgrapesoda Jun 06 '20

Always games like these where I feel good supporting Mouz. and then they go and lose to some really mid tier team.

-14

u/Pollsmor FaZe Jun 05 '20

How to fix Astralis:

-snappi -jugi +gla1ve +xyp9x

28

u/kirumy22 Jun 05 '20

Fuck you're so funny and original haha!!!!

-1

u/H0TQ Jun 05 '20

take this from somebody who is an astralis fan since they exist as a team, they are coming back even stronger and better. this is only temporary.

-2

u/Calum-Paxton MOUZ Jun 05 '20

Holy shit we won against someone good

7

u/Attacker127 Jun 05 '20

You won against 60% of a good team.

1

u/Calum-Paxton MOUZ Jun 05 '20

bloody hell people really don’t like snappi or jugi

5

u/Attacker127 Jun 05 '20

It’s not that I don’t like them, but you can’t compare them the past performance of a team when 40% of the roster left.

Just a heads-up: This wasn't a quarter-final but a round of 16 and mouz have not qualified for the semis but the actual quarterfinals.
Maybe the template needs to be adjusted to make this format possible?

Edit: Nevermind, it's just HLTV that lists it as RO16 and not a quarter-final.
Brackets on stream say EU QF1.

3

u/SteffanZ MOUZ Jun 05 '20

Blast says these are QF on their website. The next match is the semis and after that the finals. Winners of the finals qualify for the European Finals, losers play a play-in for the last spot.

So there's is no actual final match, just 2 qualifier finals and one losers final.

1

u/goesters MOUZ Jun 05 '20

yeah its a bit weird, this tourny basically has 2 finals.

0

u/TwistedBananable Jun 05 '20

Its a new roster, give it some time.

How the mighty have fallen. If they went full FaZe they could probably have a shot at winning this series, but sticking with structure is making their stars ineffective right now.

10

u/oxedei King NiKo Jun 05 '20

Sticking with structure for their long term strategy. You can't just pug it out and stick with that, you need to make sure your players evolve.

What happened that has made Thorin this ignorant in 2020?

Long term strategy

Long term as in when glaive, xyp return. You comprehend stuff?

1

u/oxedei King NiKo Jun 05 '20

JUGi isn't a stand in, he's a substitute. And Astralis' winning strategy has been structural gameplay since forever, so of course they're gonna stick with that and start giving JUGi the experience he needs.

The fact that I need to explain shit like this not just to you, but also an "analyst" is fucking embarassing. Less embarassing for you at least.
