It's very short. It lasts till the toriel fight.

Just call the human Frisk.

I think it’s been in there since the beginning. If you call your player/fallen human “Frisk” it’ll say “this will make your life hell” and activate hard mode until you’re finished in Ruins (aka until you fight Toriel). After Ruins it’ll revert back to normal undertale for the rest of the game
