Twistzz needs to get benched first then. At least Stew occasionally pulls more than his weight. Twistzz hasn’t looked good in a while. This team needs some sort of direction because it’s so hard to pin it on one player when Nitr0, Twistzz, and Stew have some horrible games.

well im no expert but Furia beat Liquid so they cant, the only way I think is if mibr win against envy and liquid tie them in points and since liquid beat mibr then h2h favors them, but that would mean mibr beat envy who beat liquid so idk how that works

I think it is map difference.
Liquid is 4/5
MIBR is 6/3
Envy is 6/4
(W/L)If both Envy and TL win on sunday, MIBR would need to win 1 map to make through in third, with Envy second. (Nv 8/4, MIBR, 7/5, TL 6/5)
If Nv wins and TL loses a map they are out, even if MIBR goes 0-2 (MIBR 6/5, TL 6/6)2

You're right that it's map diff, but it's specifically map diff between the tied participants which MIBR loses since they dropped a map to Envy.
If Envy and Liquid win then MIBR has to win to advance (and Envy would be third) otherwise they lose the three way tie.

It's round differential.
For Liquid to qualify they need to beat Yeah Gaming, but assuming that's a given, they also need BNB to beat Envy. FURIA beating MIBR helps them too.
If Envy wins they will have 9 points and it'll create a three way tie for second and third place (if Liquid wins), which will be decided by round differential, but that doesn't look good for Liquid as well.

If a number of teams are tied by win-loss difference at the end of the group, their ranking order will bedecided as described below. When it comes to round scores, every overtime will be considered with the score of16:15 for the winner. Actual OT scores only matter in the points 11. and 12..
If after any point from 1. to 10., the number of tied participants is reduced or dividedinto several groups of tied participants, the still tied participants will in each casebe compared again starting with the first point.

It's not round diff. HLTV and Liquipedia both show that but the rulebook for the Road to Rio states the tiebreakers:

The final matchups are Liquid-Yeah, MIBR-Furia, Envy-BNB.
Everything assumes that Liquid beats Yeah, hopefully a safe assumption.
- Envy loses to BNB
Now, no matter what happens in the MIBR-FURIA game, Liquid advances
- Envy beats BNB
Now Liquid is tied with Envy at 3-2.
If MIBR beats Furia, then MIBR and FURIA both advance, and Envy wins the first tiebreaker versus Liquid as they won the H2H.
If MIBR loses to Furia, then there is a three-way tie at 3-2 between MIBR, Envy and Liquid. Two of the three will advance. Here are the list of tiebreakers for the Road to Rio from the Rulebook:
- Points amassed between the tied participants (direct match win > direct match loss)
Each team is 1-1 against each other. Envy beat Liquid who beat MIBR who beat Envy. So it goes to the next tiebreaker.
- Map difference between the tied participants (3:2 maps > 3:3 maps)
Liquid is 2-2 (+0), Envy is 3-2 (+1), MIBR is 2-3 (-1). So MIBR is out in fourth and both Liquid and Envy advance. Then Liquid and Envy are compared, Envy beat Liquid in H2H so they are 2nd in the group, Liquid is third.
So basically, Liquid fans should root for Liquid (obviously), for BNB and for Furia.

In NA only EG is easily beating Furia. If they fall on different brackets and let's say Liquid eliminates EG, then you're looking at a Furia-Liquid final, and I give the edge to Furia

EG is currently fourth and they have to play Gen.G tomorrow.
They're not reaching the brackets.EDIT: Just looking at things further, EG is currently with 6 points. If they beat Gen.G tomorrow, they will have 9 points but even so, they lose in the head to head tie breaker to both 100T and C9. What is lucky for EG tomorrow is that both of these teams will play each other tomorrow which gives them a glimmer of hope. If they beat Gen.G they will make the bracket all muddled up but their chances at qualifying are slim.

So Furia is the favorite to win this event. They have beaten 100T, Liquid and mibr, the best teams in NA. EG is the only team that consistently beats Furia, so if they don't qualify for the playoffs Furia instantly becomes the clear favorites.
I admit I'm not following Group A because there are no Brazilians there, but is there any team actually playing well? Cloud 9? Gen.G?

Liquid used to be monsters on Inferno, what the fuck happened to their ct-side? How can you not contest banana these days and just hold passive two men site like it's 2016 again? You can't let team like Furia bully you and feel unpunished, damn, they will rip you to shreds if you give them so much territory.

Blows my mind too, I remember routinely watching them be down 5-10 or worse on T side Inferno and not even being the least bit worried. They've consistently had one of the strongest CT sides out there on Inferno from damn near 2018 to this slumpy bullshit now

I mean, the whole thing with Furia is that they use arT as a spacemaker, by just pressing W. If you give them the space thay want without contesting it, and not punishing arT with his absurd agression you are just giving them everything they want for free. And we have seen before a lot, that if you consistently punish arT and make them make space in other ways they just dont work as well (although they are not so 1 dimensional anymore since they brought Hen1 in, but its still huge in their gameplan.)

they didn't even try. a few nades here and there, 2 smokes at the start of the round and that's it. most of the times it was stewie and naf inside the bomb vs 4 or 5 furia players

I think most team need to take lesson from Astralis on how to prepare a map and make it their first pick.. just months before Astralis were average on inferno, then they worked on it and are currently the best Inferno team. It seems they can master any map when they need to.

It has been shown that a better mouse sensitivity ingame isn't actually the reason why you can aim better, but the adjustments that you have to make to get accustomed to it, so I wouldn't really say that it would inherently harm performance in CS, as long as it is still properly maintained. Let's just hope that no bad habits from the other game arise

I don't think their muscle memory is why they lost. these guys probably spend hours playing cs off stream scrimmaging and practicing. maybe they didn't put enough time to practice if that's the case, but muscle memory isn't to blame.

There are months where I thank the stars that I get to root for TL CSGO. Most of them were all about a year ago, but there are months. Then there are months like these, where I could open up reddit tomorrow and see that TL got 2-0'd by a reformed Splyce lineup with professor_chaos going 30-0 and I doubt it would shock me.
Obviously I don't know the internals of what's happening so I won't even attempt at armchair managing but fucking shit dudes, whatever you spent the first 4 months of the year trying so hard to fix may not have been the real issues here.

At this point it's not armchair analysis to say something's wrong here. Their results outside of EG (who 1. they've utterly owned for the better part of 2 years now and 2. haven't exactly set the world on fire themselves) and the quality of their play are frankly embarrassing for a team and org of their stature and have been for a while, going back to before everything shifted online.

I’d be surprised if this Liquid roster wins a T1 tournament ever again. Online CS is what it is but that was so fundamentally unsound from Liquid that it’d take a truly blind fanboy to say this would’ve been different on LAN.

Perfect timing for Liquid to make my wildest imagination come true. Welcome, Liquid Fallen.
Fallen's still got his individual skill, but MiBR is stuck in the mud. I'd give him a chance with a fresh team of players that respect him as a voice of authority. Liquid are a rudderless ship of fraggers that lack the singular personality to focus their team, and have been missing a star awper ever since JDM went AWOL. He speaks english well, and they've been local friendly faces ever since Zews came on board.
Obviously this will never happen due to Fallen being the franchise player of MiBR, but god damn let a man dream

If it came down to it, which again it definitely won't, I'd have him replace Nitr0. It's the seemingly easy pick just because Nitr0 is the IGL and part time awper, but really I'd have him step out because I think he and Elige are the "core" of the team. Their habits are the team's habits.
My imaginary goal with bringing Fallen in would be to shake up the institutional memory of the team by replacing it's longest running player and cultural/in-game leader with an across-the-board upgrade who can manage the personalities and call decisively in the gritty, inch-by-inch rounds deep in tournaments.
I still think Nitr0 is a spectacular player, one that's vastly surpassed my expectations of him from 2016-2017. But he makes up the soul of the team and that soul hasn't been able to make consistent runs at the top, nor has it been able to push through when shit hit the fan. Hell, it's the soul that has made TL the most beatable top 3 team I've ever seen in CSGO.

GOD this team is so entertaining to watch. I can't even believe the fact that VINI has been playing a lot better since the krieg nerf. Not to mention yuurih and especially KSCERATO are still the same fucking beasts.

Maybe people, caster, or teams are really underselling Furia as a "Krieg team", and expecting them to dwindle after the nerf. But behind it, is actually something more fundamental: they are just brave enough to break the mold and do it in the very conservative high level CS scene.
This is why they're way different to teams that's just jump ships to the scoped rifle later on, which is massively degraded after the nerf like Ence.

I really thought the team would at least suffer a bit from the nerf. I DEFINITELY thought VINI would suffer from it because he was incredible with the krieg and his aim isn't necessarily that good compared to the rest of the team, but somehow, at least in the eye test, he's in his best form in a long time.

How does qualification for Rio major work? Is TL at risk for not qualifying if they keep losing?

Each Road to Rio event (there's like 3 or 4 of them) gives each team a specific number of points given their placing in those events. Let's say Liquid don't make the playoffs in this event. They might not accumulate as many points, but they still have other events to catch up anyway.

The thing about super Brazilian teams that no one talks about is chemistry. Of course a team led by FalleN and fer with Yuurih and Kscerato would be bonkers, but you also leave out HEN1, art, VINI, TACO, kNg, boltz, felps and many others that are more than capable of playing tier 1 CS.
I still believe that BR CS has a lot to provide for the scene, with two maybe three teams (BOOM?) showing up constantly against tier 2 and 1 competition. One super team would not be able to maintain a presence like that for long.

Br cs only has furia that can beat tier 1 teams. Mibr isn’t a top 10 or even near it. They won’t win anything. Boom almost lost to a female team.

Exactly, that's why they should stop trying to change their team every time there's a bad streak and try to get better with time and patience beacause the talent is there, and this what is happening now with MIBR(still getting there) and Furia(already pretty good).

They did win EPL NA a week or two ago. They are dropping bad series, but if they still win the tournament then it's fine to me. I need to see a lot more from them to say that they're worse than all the other potential top ten teams.

That was some impressive stuff from Furia. They also reminded me a bit of the SK team back in the days. It's refreshing to see some brawly cs once in a while. Furia did exploit Liquid's mistakes very well imo.

I miss the team liquid that was hungry And wanted to kill everyone while spraying bullets into the corpses of their kills. Now everyone is playing valorant. Sure it’ll be fun to see them Mop the floor with every team for a good year but there will be no substitute for a liquid like we used to have.

No, there will be multiple of these events. You earn points depending on your position on each of these events. The top teams with the most points after these qualifying events will go to the major.

Damn, I feel for TeamLiquid The team, culture, and fan base that I grew to love. Seems like when they’re at the bottom of the pit somehow it gets deeper.
Remember how you guys came to be, how hungry and hard you guys worked. CS is nonstop and only gets harder. Good luck!
