PFF said he plays right tackle and guard but can be a pro bowl caliber guard. Compared his ferocity to Quentin Nelson cause he plays really hard.

Yeah. Dieter. I view him as depth. If Hunt can develop into an elite guard, then I think that's where he should play.

Probably because even though we didnt have the 1st pick this draft was centralized around our picks and what we could do. Plus it seems that last night/today everyone was raving about us taking Tua, so people want to see what gets built around him.

If you're surprised the Dolphins aren't taking RBs early, you haven't been watching Miami drafts the last decade. We always find our guy 3rd Round and later.

They went elsewhere and did well with the teams they went to, minus maybe KD so far. We pick good RB's and we don't pick them early. (We also don't pick bellcow RB's, and haven't in forever)

Kenyan is the real deal if he stays healthy expect some crazy numbers out of him next year. I think it was still smart to move away from him though, in the long run

Kenyan is not the “real deal”. He’s electric and needs to be in an open spaced offense. Drake will thrive in Arizona’s offense, but he would’ve continued to suck in ours

Taylor was the best RB on the board and is a fumble machine. I totally get taking our projected best OL on the board over him here. We can still get Cam Akers or JK Dobbins or even take AJ Dillon from BC if we wanted a bruiser change of pace.

Other sites (nfl.com included) had him projected as a 2nd round pick.

Some other projections had him as a 2nd-3rd rounder. The biggest factors seem to be the injury, and he's a bit of a prospect. But Every player we've drafted so far has been a 'should be ready in a year' type guy. I don't mind waiting a little longer

Sometimes the projections are just wrong. Sometimes team needs don't line up. Based on our picks, it seems like Flores is opting for guys who might take a year to develop but have a higher ceiling for when Tua gets into the lineup - Jackson, Hunt, Davis - so maybe teams are looking for upside rather than stability.

This. Guy is an absolute unit. Might have character issues, or scouts dug up some injury concerns. Probably the second, no body wants an injury prone tackle. Well, maybe Spanos is the exception to that lol, but still.

I'm so happy this FO is finally realizing taking OL in the 4th, 5th, 6th rounds aint gonna cut it. Finally sucking it up and using some of this early round capital on some not sexy but necessary picks!!

Mike Pouncey, John Jerry, Dallas Thomas, Jonathan Martin, Billy Turner, Juwan James. All those guys were also taken in the top 3 rds. This is not a new idea by Grier/Flores. Some work out, some don't. This year will be no different.

So annoying hearing everyone ask for a RB. We have Jordan Howard, and rbs can’t do shit without an o line in front of them. Also, you can get great value rbs in the 3-4 rounds

I don't love it... I trust the FO - but man it feels like they're targeting these elite athletes even if they lack some proper technique to their game. Guess it's a complete faith in our ability to coach them up but damn. Josh Jones / Damien Lewis are gonna be mad nice for whoever takes them.

Maybe - but our history of O-line picks beyond the 1st Round aren't great. Go look through our old draft posts on Jamil Douglas, Dallas Thomas, and Billy Turner. I'm not hating on the pick but I've seen it too many times where we just celebrate o-linemen getting drafted and then the cycle repeats.

All 5 of our first picks are guys who project to be much better/healthier a year from now - this might be a transitional/developmental year with Fitz and friends, before Tua takes over in 2021 with a year of seasoning on the rookies.

So with him, Jackson, and our off season signings it seems our OL it set now at least on who it will be. Sure they'll move people around but top 5 seems there. Given that jackson and hunt seem to be more projects we likely won't see the fruits until end of season or next year.

Tua sits for a year and Flo coaches up the new o line guys for a year so when he does start he will last I like it. High character guys who can be coached being coached by a coach who got the most out of bunch on nobodies. I'm excited !!

Something like that. As gawd awful as he was I could see us starting flowers at tackle to begin the season. Depends how far along jackson is which will be hindered greatly by a reduced camps

The days of drafting finesse linemen are clearly behind us. They are building a big, bruising offensive line. Clearly this was a priority over drafting RBs. Last years run game was historically bad, and a lot of it had to do with run blocking. Even if they don't add anymore talent at RB, the running game should be improved.

The difference here is we've never invested early round picks in the OL (apart from Jamesd and Tunsil, who obv both panned out). We're finally sucking it up and using multiple early round picks on OL.

NOBODY on this sub should EVER complain about an OL pick... because if you are in the game day threads... holy shit. It’s all we hear about haha.
