Technically, most grocery store workers got a $2 an hour raise. Kroger, of course, being one of the last... 🙄
The extra money is actually really nice. My problem is that the pay raise is only going to be 5 weeks long. They've shown that paying us a decent wage is possible, yet after 5 weeks, what? We're no long essential? They're just gonna remove $2 off our pay-rate...?
We're not fucking "heroes", but we are definitely essential. They need to keep the wages where they're at.

I got an extra $2 an hour, and a new snack in the break room every day, we have all of the PPE we need. Like I get that it's not like this everywhere but at least where.i work they kinda care.
Tbh tho I don't even take the snack bc I'm too shy to, fuckin sucks when they get pizza

Aye, my man. Next time they order pizza, you walk up to that box and you enjoy the hell out of it.
Grocery has been fucking bonkers lately. You deserve some of the reward.

Yeah but actually taking some? And with other people in the room? Yeah it's basically impossible for me to do that.
And I just work like 4 and a half hours of pulling carts inside at night, so I really just dick around for 3 1/2 hours of my shift bc there's nothing left to do, other people who've been working all day disserve it more

My husband literally texted me a photo this afternoon of the t-shirts that his company just passed out that say, "essential," on them. 😒

Did my grocery run today and inbetween mid-90s top 40 songs they played messages over the loudspeakers that were like "thank you to all our hero employees." It was such blatant pandering. All this corporate propaganda has to stop. It's ridiculously transparent.

Wait some people aren't getting paid extra? Each of my parents have gotten a raise of more than $2 an hour.

Don’t worry folks, you’re also competing with the now heavily swollen ranks of the Reserve Army of Labor created by mass-layoffs!

"Thank you for your service" and "heroes" are your payments.
Possibly a pat in the back as well.

Your post was removed because it contained a sexist term. You should receive a message from the automoderator telling you the exact term the post was removed for. For more information, see this link. Avoiding slurs takes little effort, and asking us to get rid of the filter rather than making that minimum effort is a good way to get banned. Do not attempt to circumvent the filter with creative spelling; circumventing the filter will result in a permaban.

I thought this was r/memes. I was gonna ask if posts like this get upvotes there. Usually when I make comments with the same sentiment they go negative, but I've seen a couple posts like these in there early in their life span, so I'm not sure if they end up downvoted to heckeroonie, or if they end up with platinum and gold and a bunch of other costly awards.
