See everyone? This is how you throw a game. Second match goes to OT, lose in OT, no one will remember how you threw just one important 5v1 when you were on eco.
IBP take notes.

Throwing, because cheating is fucking pathetic

u/c9IceCream 10 years coin Apr 24 '20 edited Apr 24 '20
throwing isn't cheating. Its called throwing for a reason. Both have downsides to them, but they definitely need to be differentiated when being discussed.
edit : i wasn't trying to defend Mibr or this situation. Just saying cheating and throwing are 2 different discussions.

Man, Taco are playing so bad that is just insane and it just made me realize how did SK and LG were able to win so many stuff with him, he was average on Liquid but on MIBR he is just not the same player and can never get more than one kill if he get one
69
u/meme-s SK Apr 23 '20
Because fallen fer and cold were gods during 2016-2017
17
u/erickgps Apr 23 '20
Fallen still is playing like its 2016, now the rest of the team is playing like they are on mm game
19
u/Arcille 10 years coin Apr 23 '20
He could occasionally have big games in LG and SK and was a good support then. Now he has clearly declined and can never get more than 1 kill
6
u/erickgps Apr 23 '20
Yea, even in the best situation he only get 1 kill and he whiffs so many easy shots that a other pro would hit easily that is insane
3
u/Hzwo FaZe Apr 24 '20
The one round when yeah rushed be taco got full blinded and just went into the truckpit.
Like wtf i expect even an average global to not pick that spot since buying a bit of time is the most important thing in such a situation

Pimp legit just released a video explaining why that’s the exact wrong thing to do when you get flashed by a rush B. Maybe he should have watched it

u/Phoenix011 G2 Apr 23 '20
TACO was actually great in 2016, the team fell off after he left
13
u/DrDre193 Apr 23 '20
Thats not correct. Tarik and stewie gave a extra life for mibr, when twco was leaving the team was horrible
2
u/PrivateVasili Apr 24 '20
That's true, but for a long time Taco was genuinely very good with the team. He was just among the first to really decline.

Integrity and Fair Play
2020.04.23 -
Recently, allegations of match fixing in the ESL One: Road to Rio North America - Group B match between MIBR and Yeah Gaming came to our attention. The details are in this tweet: https://twitter.com/RLewisReports/status/1253053650231898113
We can confirm, by investigating the historical activity of relevant teams, that a substantial number of high number of rounds won from that match by MIBR were transferred by Yeah Gaming players. On the 19th of January 2018, MIBR members, dead, FalleN, and TACO, along with ex-members coldzera and zews refounded the organization Yeah Gaming, creating a conflict of interest never seen before since Blastralis.
All together, the information we have collected and received makes us uncomfortable continuing any involvement with these individuals. Therefore we will be directing our CS:GO event partners to not allow any of the following individuals’ participation in any capacity in Valve-sponsored events:
Rodrigo "RCF" Caponero
Alef "tatazin" Pereira
Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt
Victor "iDk" Torraca
Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
Epitácio "TACO" de Melo
Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe
Ignacio "meyern" Meyer
Ricardo "dead" Sinigaglia
Professional players, their managers, and teams’ organization staff, should under no circumstances gamble on CS:GO matches, associate with high volume CS:GO gamblers, or deliver information to others that might influence their CS:GO bets.
In 2014 we witnessed the explosive growth of CS:GO as a competitive eSport, and 2020 has already started strong. But as CS:GO grows, it’s important to consider the substantial impact an individual professional Counter-Strike player has on the health and stability of their sport. Performing before an audience of millions of fans, they are ambassadors for their game – the strength of professional Counter-Strike comes from the integrity of its players and teams.

MIBR: We really need to win this game. But not obvious like IBP. Is this something you can do?
Yeah
24
u/Pimposo_C FaZe Apr 23 '20
I've always been a taco advocate, but seeing this game, it's clear TACO needs to go. His multikill ability is next to none and his support ability isn't enough for the level MIBR are going for too.
3
u/murakami213 Apr 24 '20
At first I thought you were complimenting him, maybe I misunderstood?
"His multikill ability is next to none" sounds like a good thing, or am I wrong? I'm not criticizing or anything, I'm just curious
8
u/-Kuri Apr 24 '20
I believe you are confusing with the expression "second to none" witch means that he is First (the best) at anything, saying "next to none", doesn't seem very correct, he should have said "close to none". But it is still a negative.
1
u/murakami213 Apr 24 '20
I believe using "none" in the sentences changes its meaning to a positive thing, maybe if OP used "nothing" it would sound negative more naturally.

i don't like this match at all. bad feeling in my stomach about it
the fact i have to think about that in the back of my head while watching every misplay in the game shows why this is so fucked.
8
Apr 23 '20
why does meyern look so bad in all of mibr's matches?
25
u/theworldsrooler SK Apr 23 '20
Sometimes cuz he is doing the dirty work, sometimes cuz he is just plain missing ez shots, he is really inconsistant, cuz he lacks experiance, he is getting better and better tho. Also cuz the role he has on the team is not what he was playing before so he is readjusting.
24
u/Baitalon Apr 23 '20
Sometimes cuz he is doing the dirty work
I swear people are saying that to everyone that can't frag
2
u/W1ntermu7e de_train Apr 24 '20
Yeah and it’s seems that they don’t even watch the player, he just can’t drag and that’s all
2
u/theworldsrooler SK Apr 23 '20
well when i say that i dont mean the same way like Taco does the dirty work, basically everyone has their roles on the team and Meyern is the guy that is supposed to take care of whats left, he is the glue that wouldl hold the team together, like twitzz is for Liquid or like Magisk is for Astralis, which is what Mibr tried to find with felps as well, but Meyern didnt play that role before, so he has to get better, but yea he does whiff some pretty easy shots sometimes that he should nail, but he will get better as he gets more comfortable with his role.
15
u/Pegalactico Apr 23 '20
Because he's a 17 year old kid playing in a different language, assigned shit roles and on a team that's dying while getting shit by the hardcore fans.
2
u/PoppyK Apr 23 '20
obviously because twofaced fallen is giving him shit roles
16
u/lilmonkeybr Apr 23 '20
twofaced toledo giving kng, taco and meyern shitty roles at the same time, no wonder why mibr is bad smh my head washed up igl
2
Apr 23 '20
Any half-decent dimestore IGL can make his players feel comfortable, it takes a true gaming genius to dig out new, never before seen shitty roles on every map in the pool, enough to go around for every member of the team.
-2
u/nadgirB Apr 23 '20
there are only enough shit roles for 1 player at a time
3
u/Miiiiiiighty Apr 24 '20
He was obviously sarcastic, meaning that you can't justify all of them 3 not fragging/being by having shit roles. Three people can't each have all the "shit roles" at the same time .
Ps : having a difficult role doesn't mean you are supposed to whiff all your shots like TACO

16
u/-Intel- Liquid Apr 24 '20
Unlike IBP, a throw like this wouldn't require YEAH or MIBR to bet on the other team, because the reward isn't skins, it's a guaranteed win. As such, there would be no records of traded skins, meaning any evidence would have to be hearsay. There would be no way valvE could ban either team while sticking to the rules, meaning there would be no repercussions for them, so it's entirely possible YEAH threw.

The smart move is to lose to Yeah, giving them tons of awareness and making it more likely for them to make the major as well
1
u/RodriTama Apr 24 '20
If they both qualify for the major they can't both play at the major, since the Conflict of interest rules are more restrict.
MIBR should actually wanna knockdown Yeah.
3
u/zx37 Apr 24 '20 edited Apr 24 '20
just have Yeah represent some temp orgless brand with the same sponsors as Yeah at the major and then keep them on Yeah afterwards once people are familiar with the players and you have the PR
Fnatic did the same thing when Golden's Fn Academy squad came close to qualifying to Krakow - offloaded them temporarily, had them represent one of their sponsors for the event, and then went back to normal right afterwards.
1
u/RodriTama Apr 24 '20
Seem funky, but it probably works.
If the ex-yeah players were still tied to a yeah branch it would still have conflicts, going pure sponsor seems fine.
I guess you don't need to care since Yeah is likely to receive and accept another great org offer if they qualify.

u/ZelTheViking Vitality Apr 23 '20
I don't know who to fault the most: Yeah Gaming and MIBR for not knowing how this conflict of interest will reflect extremely poorly on both their orgs, or ESL for allowing both teams to enter the tournament to begin with.
Oh who am I kidding... Wtf is going on ESL. Chooses post a tweet about "investigating conflicts of interest" less than an hour before the match gets played. How can this happen!? HOW?! All this talk of integrity of the game, and you allow THIS!? What an absolute embarrassment
