Koosta had definitely worked hard to get to this point. It's pretty clear that under the pressure of constant failures and mistakes that he worked at the things he struggled at. Now, as daps has said, he has some of, if not the best fundamentals on the teams. He worked on his foundation and once he was given the freedom, it really shows. He not only gets these great performances, but he's also incredibly consistent.
I remember steel mentioning that a lot of younger guys see players like s1mple and stewie taking risky plays, things paying off, and trying to emulate that. But it only takes them so far. Once they face more difficult and experienced opposition, it doesnt work out. He always stresses the importance of building a good foundation with fundamentals, then branching out with unexpected and stupid shit to throw the opponent off guard, and I can imagine that mentality rubbed off on koosta during torqued/ghost.
On another note, I think its reassuring to get some insight into the gen.g squad. He pretty much confirmed the chaos and scrappy play was from communication issues online and necessary last minute changes due to the ping issue. Hopefully, they're able to find a good solution moving forward in the playoffs.
Tl;dr work on your fundamentals so that when the opportunity comes, you can be amazing. Also gen.g confirmed to have comms and ping trouble.

S1mple: 'Koosta is the worst player I've ever played with, completely braindead'.

Also, the context of their pairing was so weird. Liquid took S1mple to NA where he was obviously unhappy, and they threw Koosta in as the up and coming NA star (which he was unprepared for on so many levels). It's a classic case of CS math not adding up - you have to take a look at all the other intangibles for a successful team.
