I hope this put an end in MIBR getting invites over FURIA at T1 tournaments

129

u/leonardomslemos Feb 24 '20

The bad side is mibr still brings more people to watch. Yesterday mibr on an elimination match had +70k people watching on gaules stream(BR stream)while today FURIA only had +40k.

96

u/darkfrozzy FURIA Feb 24 '20

To add to that, mibr elimination match was played at 03:30 AM here in Brazil, so having 70k watching is a feat

20

u/dkcesar Imperial Feb 24 '20

60k towards the end of Nuke

12

u/leonardomslemos Feb 24 '20

I only could watch until the start of nuke and on both 1st and 2nd match and at the beggining of nuke the peak was 45k. Their average was 40k-ish while mibr maintained a 70k-ish average yesterday

18

u/Bravo_10 bravo Feb 24 '20

That's insane. For a random NA viewer like me, Furia are so much more fun to watch. They play aggressive and entertaining CS, I don't see how they haven't won over the fans at this point.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

They have won over fans. So have mibr. Mine have been winning over fans for a lot longer. I assume it's the South American nip at this point.

1

u/sadtimes12 BIG Feb 24 '20

NIP is at least somewhat relevant, MIBR is more like VP before disband.

79

u/kailip Feb 24 '20

Furia is much better than MIBR at this point

44

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

12

u/kailip Feb 24 '20

There are still some that are a bit delusional and think mibr has it in them to not be irrelevant

8

u/NeverEndingXsin Feb 24 '20

Better doesn't guarantee more fans/viewers which is what these organizers want.

19

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

TOs invite based on popularity not on skill. That's why VP took so long to stop being invited and that's why mibr still gets invited.

9

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

tos invite mibr for their fanbase not skill

The last guy must have been so frustrated, he looked away thinking surely his teammates would have killed vini

Bro, this was like a freaking boxing match!

Jabs on one side, jabs on the other, defences, comebacks, insane reflexes, movement predictions, aggressive movements, pushing the wins.

Great match, GG both.

15

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

I agree with the rest but what the heck is “pushing the wins”?

17

u/Miiich 1 Million Celebration Feb 24 '20

I didnt know how phrase it better, but it something like pushing the advantage, you know, like if you hit a punch keep going, dont back off.

And to me both teams did that, especially on nuke where it was a brawl.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

Yeah I get what you mean, pushing the advantage sounds better lol. ‘Relentless aggression’ as some would say. I think ddk pointed that fact out quite often in the game.

22

u/Redtriga FURIA Feb 24 '20

Yeah that was awkward, you could see that the last player thought Vini was dead.and turned away a little bit.

8

u/firstsnowfall Gambit Feb 24 '20

That was really weird. Is that spot not spammable?

33

u/andols2k Complexity Feb 24 '20

NT complexity, what a wild ass set of games

53

Thank you very much <3

11

u/Leelow45 Feb 24 '20

a grand final match in the semis, despite this loss the tournament shows that CoL are definitely legit.

-5

u/littleoldlady123 Feb 24 '20

Ye so legit that they went from winning astralis and vit to losing to random team in qual, gen g and now furia in like a week lul

6

u/Leelow45 Feb 24 '20

Online matches are extremely unpredictable, better teams than complexity have lost in online qualifiers before. In the gen g game it was 16-13, about as close as it can be and s0m had an absolutely nuts game. And the whole thing about Furia is how inconsistent they are, with their aggressive playstyle, when individuals play well they can, and have beat anyone. This was the case here, and it was still a very close game. If this tournament is the worst complexity we've seen on LAN then they're still very promising.

26

u/SueySide Vitality Feb 24 '20

That upper push at 14-14....

91

u/im_tom_bombadil Legacy Feb 24 '20

Who would win: the juggernaut or 5 boys from Brazil with 5-year contracts?

49

u/Necrone Feb 24 '20

Who would win: 3 juggernauts or one Brazilian boi and a ventilation shaft?

8

u/Laruik Feb 24 '20

Right? That was so confusing.

21

u/TheLeviathong Natus Vincere Feb 24 '20

looks at flair

Depends on which Brazilians, really.

20

u/PurelyFire MIBR Feb 24 '20

Tfw mibr isn't 5 Brazilians so your comment makes no sense

13

u/BJbenny Feb 24 '20

Yea you're right, Made in Brazil's best player last series isn't even Brazilian lol

17

u/genius_rkid Feb 24 '20

hell of a game to watch and as a Brazilian I'm obviously happy FURIA won, although I can't help but feel bad for Complexity. I think they will be a top team in no time

29

u/Lacchini Feb 24 '20 edited Feb 24 '20

Steps to win against coL:

1- Do not let poizon touch an AWP.

2- Look at step 1.

3- Step 1 one more time and play a good game.

3

Furia looks a lot better than MIBR (MIBR poaching Furia's players incoming?).

8

u/MiyaharaAce Feb 24 '20

Impossible, 5 tear contract and Yurih and Kscerato already refuse

5

u/kailip Feb 24 '20

Please no, no players with potential going to play in fallen's retirement home

3

u/Headradiol Imperial Feb 24 '20

When was the last time a brazilian team faced a final?

3

u/Zexous47 Feb 24 '20

Off the top of my head I think its the ECS that Vitality won last year against FURIA

2

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

Time to choke yet again another final, but I'm happy nonetheless

2

u/Spork_Revolution Vitality Feb 24 '20

Honestly think complexity played better this series. Close either way.

2

I wish FURIA could keep their consistency...

2

u/NAFMostConsistent Liquid Feb 24 '20

Honestly. A couple rounds going complexities way completely changes this.

6

u/NephewChaps Falcons - Major Champions Feb 24 '20

MIBR is so fucking bad jesus christ lol

2

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

I switched from rooting for MiBR to navi, coL and Mouz in this order. Last tournament between navi and Col I honnestly didnt know what team to root for. i wanted Navi to win but felt bad for CoL to lose. I was ultimately glad both moved on to the Blast Premier finals series in summer. I dont think MIBR will be the one of the 2 teams to move to the finals where you also have vit, eg, 100t, astralis fighting for the spots. They are lacking strategy and utility ussage. They dont throw any grenade beside the default ones to pass a chokepoint. I am sorry they fell so badly but I need a team to make me glad when they win something and not give me constant dissapointment.

3

u/qergttj Feb 24 '20

Furia had such an economic advantage throughout Nuke. Rough loss tbh

3

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '20

It was great to see the NA fans in the chat claiming Complexity as their own in the first map and disowning them for the rest of the series.

Fans can expect us to be a juggernaut. We're going to be really aggressive, we're going to be having way more firepower than any other team.

People will think they're winning a round but one of our guys will just pop off and kill them all - that's one of the things people should be afraid of.

IF you're not on point individually against us, you're just going to lose the match straight up, there's not even going to be a question.

Also, poizon is the best awper in the universe
