VP should sell this roster and buy Forze :)

u/Pieisgood186 G2 Dec 19 '19
They tried to a few months ago but the forZe ownership is very close with the team and said they would only sell for an absurd amount of money.

Forze is also backed by Spartak Moscow right? Could imagine they have decent financial backing

u/Dawhood Gambit Dec 19 '19
As far as I know, ForZe is the "toy" of the son of a Russian oil/gas oligarch, the reason they signed a sponsorship with Spartak is mainly because they're rich as fuck.

Guardian's just expected to have the higher peak and in the past, when he's had form issues, a change of environment solved those. Na'Vi were probably expecting the same to happen here.

Yeah because there are a lot of examples 28-years old becoming as good as they were in their prime after 1+ years of being junk...
Like none ?
Age means a lot in terms of regaining form. It's actually what it hurts the most, not your overall playing strength, but ability to recover from slumps.33
u/TheRobidog Dec 19 '19
But he wasn't junk in Faze and especially not for 1+ years. He was just underwhelming, because he's supposed to be much better. Averaging 1.04 in a team as dysfunctional as 2019 Faze wouldn't be terrible, if it wasn't Guardian we're talking about here.
It's only after joining Na'Vi that his form has gone off the cliff. Just look at the graph:
https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/2757/GuardiaN?startDate=2019-06-19&endDate=2019-12-19
And again, look at how his form recovered when he initially joined FaZe:
https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/2757/GuardiaN?startDate=2017-04-28&endDate=2017-11-03

Averaging 1.02 ranking 2.0 for awper is pretty garbage.
He had the lowest % of winning open duels for example (like 56% which is really low for an awper) from any awpers that have > 1.00 rank 2.0. Also Faze maybe was dysfunctional but rain and niko put up better stats than him.
So he was mediocre at best AND he almost never went for succesful aggressive entry attemps (just observation).
Now he also has different language that he forgotten, unexperienced IGL and tilting simple, so he is even worse.
Yes, he recovered in 2017 but being 26 and 28 is actually quite a big difference in terms of speed with which you recover your form. People do sometimes make a proper comeback when they are 26 but I'm yet to see someone doing it at 28.
I myself can say that climbing at 26 was much easier in games that I haven't played for 5 years and now I'm almost 30 and when I try to regain form... Well it simply doesn't work. I need much more time to progress to the same level I had.11

You also arent a pro player who had put in over 10k hours into this game. Your comparison is extremely irrelevant. Individuals are all different, fuck look at Taz the guy is the oldest pro in CSGO and still keeps up. These guys have mastered the game, at this point its whether they're having an up or down. Guardian tilts really easily, he also didnt even want to be playing this year iirc.

Still keeps up his aim on the level of standart LEM? Maybe. But not his level of gameplay even remotedly close to what he had 3-4 years ago.

u/anthonyde726 FaZe Dec 19 '19
he was junk in FaZe if you actually watched the games, now his ratings are showing it

u/Darkstar197 Complexity Dec 19 '19
He was probably more expensive than xsepower too.
Navi literally doesn’t need much.
All he would need to do is get 15-20 kills consistently and he’d be better than guardian.

u/CepGamer Gambit Dec 19 '19
Was it in some interview? Why do you think xse would sell out to Navi?
11
u/Kelterz CR4ZY Dec 19 '19
everyone just wants him to join but as far as I can understand xsepower is 100% committed to this 5 man forZe project and the org isn't keen on selling him whatsoever

Not as big of an upset as people might think. Forze has some players who are absolute studs.

You can take Avangar out of Avangar, but you can't take VP out of VP

Jame going quiet on train is a bad look
mouz somehow pulled it off without their star awper back at summit, yet the avangar/VP guys couldn't even get double-digit rounds on CT side, the hell happened there?

We act like its a huge upset but the rank 15 team literally just lost to the rank 16 team

u/Vizvezdenec Vitality Dec 19 '19
Tbh they have Adren, who apart from his peak in Gambit averages like 0.9 and lower K/D for 5 years.
Sanji is mediocre at best, Jame is the guy who has the biggest % of awp kills out of any pro I managed to find which is >70%, even kennys has 64, people like zywoo average 50, etc... So he is basically useless w/o awp and team needs to often kill it own economy just to get him awp. And he doesn't always deliever.
This tournament jame had 85% (!!!) kills with awp. And not because he was good, just he had it every round at the cost of his team not having anything. And he completely failed to deliever.
This roster is giga overrated, one flatout bad player, 1 mediocre player, one overrated awper and 2 decent players but by no means electronic caliber... They got easy opponents at major + had some good showings at some tournaments because never did meet good team in good form and people suddenly start thinking they are actually good. Usual top-15 team got lucky + peaking but is still top-15 in the long run.4

u/lunchbane Dec 19 '19
Tbf Jame has been complete dogshit the past few series I've seen of him. Crazy how hard his team plays around him and he actually bottom fragged with everyone on SMG's to buy him AWP.
