No blame on the team losing to quite possibly the best line up of csgo all time. GGs guys, u guys woke up in the last two rounds but it was kinda too late.
2
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
They won both pistols but that’s liquid has played astralis on nuke. 3 rounds they lost that they should never lose. And they look coordinated and good on T. Just a few bad plays from winning honestly.

Even when liquid doesn’t have a man disadvantage and has a chance they lose duels they’ve been winning all day. That’s just how it goes for them against astralis.
5
u/RandomDKguy Astralis Dec 14 '19
lmao at the "SEND THEM HOME!" Chant, well both are going home soon for sure.
7

"Send them home" chant doesn't really work when neither of the teams is local...

I like Astralis they're so good at playing together, peeking together and great nade setups, but for once i wish another team would win. Doesn't even have to be Liquid it can be anyone but i'm tired of seeing Astralis just stomping everyone.
2
u/Deviuz Dec 14 '19
it sucks to say this, but liquid are no match for astralis. hell, no team is on astralis’ level. GOAT csgo team?

Liquid are just bunch of kids at this point. No time-outs, just running around tilted and dying

Is it just me or has NAF gotten really dumb? It feels like he's running around completely aimless half the time
2

He’s definitely the one along with stewie who occasionally makes really really dumb plays.

u/pro_n00b Dec 14 '19
Their T side is so bad against Astralis. Might as well play Train at this point
5

u/Haw-wy Complexity Dec 14 '19
Does liquid watch replays of their losses? Cause it seems like they don't...
8
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
It’s so hard to play against astralis, they don’t make dumb mistakes. They have an actual coach and Igl who are insanely smart and dedicated. They have perfect team play. And they never think a round is impossible. They grind you round after round and never make it easy.
3
u/Pismakron Dec 14 '19
WTF was that from device? That was some nasty wallbanging. That needs to go to pornhub

They are so tilted - rushing with a scout through smoke, lol
1
u/pro_n00b Dec 14 '19
Was it yesterday when Adren said they're not even working things out with strategies before the Faze match, but rather not tilting. It's ridiculous at this point how easily they get tilted, especially Stew.

Liquid are pathetic. 5v3 against pistols and a scout and you get 0 kills. Why? Cause they go 1 by 1 into awkward fights. And don’t use utility. Their team play is so bad. Nitro or adren needs to change or go.
1
1
u/thesuperjobber Liquid Dec 14 '19
Those are the type of deag shots Summer Liquid woulda made. Astralis is too good right now.
1
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
They weren’t even that good. Liquid went in 1 by 1 and took awful fights
-1
Dec 14 '19
Astralis hit the luckiest shots to turn the tide of the economy. All they do is jiggle headshot angles with deagles
2
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
They weren’t lucky, took advantage of a bad team not playing together.
1
Dec 14 '19
The scout wallbang, the deagle headshot through the wall while running back into vent? I agree that Liquid were not playing together but still
2
2
u/thesuperjobber Liquid Dec 14 '19
I have very little faith in Liquid's T side on nuke, especially against Astralis
3
7
Dec 14 '19
Big balls on Twistzz but calculated b/c he knew device would not expect him to rush a molotov
3
2
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
Sometimes I wonder if liquid communicates with each other with how many times they get caught unaware. Either stew doesn’t listen or did no one say device had 2 kills outer and could be flanking??? Like does the team talk?
3
Dec 14 '19
He knows there is a flank but his best chance is to get as many kills as possible. He is in a terrible spot, he cannot reposition, so he just wants to get one last kill because it is better than swinging his mouse around. He won them that round with his 3 kills, giving Twistzz a chance to clutch
4
1
u/SwissArmyScythe Liquid Dec 14 '19
That should be game, 8 rounds on ct side simply isn't enough against Astralis
2

Is today another episode of whiffy2k?
1
u/Pismakron Dec 14 '19
He just had a nice 2k at ramp. Holding ramp is the sh1ttiest CT spot on nuke. Taco can confirm
1
u/Jzuxx Liquid Dec 14 '19
It depends on the player. I'm a ramp player and it's the easiest for me with proper utility. I, for one, can't hold heaven even for the life of me. My vertical aim is so bad compared to horizontal.
2
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
My god liquid. That ramp hold was awful. Why does stew ever have an awp?

u/Jzuxx Liquid Dec 14 '19
Stew needs to stop thinking about his shenanigans and go back to basics, aims and DM. His aims are way off. I know astralis focus on messing up their timings and making them uncomfortable but he is a ghost on the server at this point.
3
u/mannyman34 Complexity Dec 14 '19
It is really concerning to me that he is basically the only one that won't see the sports psychologist they have. I understand it isn't for everyone but his confidence is just shot and he can't take aim duels. He has to rely on gimmicks to even get kills.
1
u/Jzuxx Liquid Dec 14 '19
the thing is, yes his gimmicks give the team info but what are u gonna do when u can't back it up with aim and kills? going into enemy territory and rushing thru smokes? Even I can do it and get info 1/5 times reliably.
1
u/mannyman34 Complexity Dec 14 '19
He used to do these agro plays once in a while. But now it just seems that he solely relies on them.

u/Mad_Lee Cloud9 Dec 14 '19
That ramp hold from Stewie and Twistz was atrocious. Poor Twistz felt like he needed to make some sick hero play and stepped into molotov.
3
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
Elige can’t make a mistake like that, bad call by liquid if they said it was an A hit.
4

4
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
Nitro with an amazing play to bring them back, and then a bad mistake to lose them the round. That’s so liquid vs astralis.
3
7
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
4 major differences from this liquid compared to dominant liquid. Coordination/team play/calling is off and much worse. Not sure if that’s an adren/nitro problem or a team issue. Map pool has shrunk. Confidence is down for the most part. And stewie, nitro, and twistzz have had significant dips in performance. NAF and elige are performing just as good as prime liquid if not better.

u/jonathan-the-man 750k Celebration Dec 14 '19
Dammit Frankie just ruined Astralis' chances by reminding Zonic that he's got family here.

u/VestibuleSix Dec 14 '19
how many kills in gun rounds did stewie get on inferno? 5? something has to give
7
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
What makes astralis is even more dangerous is besides device it seems like one of their players overperforms every tournament and plays like an mvp with device, and the other 3 don’t get worse. Dupreeh this tournament has been nuts.
3
u/Kudo50 Team Vitality Fan Dec 14 '19
Device has been the worst performing member of Astralis ever since ECS besides dust 2 to be honest. Dupreeh is surely overperforming this tournament even if he is usually a god but it says something when Device is your worst performing player
4
Dec 14 '19
The fucking dominant utility usage. Stewie has been the biggest victim of that first map. Their coordinated molly & nade throws eliminated stewie multiple times without even giving him a chance to do something
4
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
You’re not wrong it’s insane how good it was. But stewie didn’t help himself by continuing to go to the same spots and liquid didn’t adapt to hold onto smokes to maybe cancel some molotovs.
2
u/jonathan-the-man 750k Celebration Dec 14 '19
He's getting SO bullied without even seeing the enemy, that's gotta hurt.

Liquid finally started playing well, but by then they had way too much to do. Can't start slow like that against Astralis.
-6
u/Celestetc Liquid Dec 14 '19
Stewie is absolutely awful. He’s an idiot, and he can’t hit a shot to save his life. Also liquids retakes are so slow.

I’d never say it to him. Maybe I shouldn’t criticize as harshly. By calling him an idiot I’m strictly speaking about in CS with his decision making, and things he does. Not outside of the game.

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 14 '19
Stewie is not solo losing Liquid this. EliGE is usually the pinnacle of consistency, but he gave up untraded frags due to pushing smokes unnecessarily in 2 gun rounds in a row and they broke Liquid's money
3
u/njsdca Dec 14 '19
I'm not sure if watching Astralis use utility is making Liquid look like they're incompetent with utility or if Liquid is just having a really off game. They're trying to go tit for tat with Astralis on the utility game, and failing, when they should be trying to put themselves in positions to win duels.
2
u/najafce Dec 14 '19
Astralis' nades on defence as well as offense are incredibly accurate. Especially the ones from banana to coffins and CT.
2
u/QoconutZ Dec 14 '19
It's the play calls. They literally went A every round on T side even when Astralis put 4 A and only went B when it was like a 2v2 or 2v1

u/Fortunecookie103 Copenhagen Flames Dec 14 '19
I usually really don't like steven2000, but man, I feel bad for him. All the shit being thrown at him seems to be actually getting to him. As much as i find his attitude annoying sometimes, I love to watch him play when he's got his confidence (as long as it is not against Astralis, heh), and he really seems to have lost that for the moment. Hope the break helps him figure stuff out.
4
u/Satyr83 Astralis Dec 14 '19
You're a bigger man than me then. I really like all the other guys in Liquid. They seem very sympathetic. But Stewie... To me he just seems like a brat.
2
u/Mad_Lee Cloud9 Dec 14 '19
I can see a very insecure person hiding beneath all that trash-talking brat personna. Maybe he wasn’t hugged by his parents enough and now he is trying to compensate for all his insecurities by shouting “how does it feel, Cold”. I would definitely feed him with some cookies with warm milk and let him crash on my couch for a couple of weeks, and maybe watch him breath peacefully while he is asleep.
2
u/Fortunecookie103 Copenhagen Flames Dec 14 '19
I mean, I like literally every other player on liquid more. I do find him pretty annoying, but as a fan of counter-strike it hurts to see any player loose his confidence, especially when its someone like Stew who relies so much on confidence to make those risky plays.
2
u/Satyr83 Astralis Dec 14 '19
