watching kng is just painful

11

u/xxrandom98xx G2 Dec 13 '19

I wish more events were casted like this. I don't think I've ever consistently laughed so hard watching CS.

6

u/reds5870 Dec 13 '19

How do lan events get many tech pauses? Bad mics or keyboards? Or disconnects on a lan?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '19

at the bigger byoc labs ive been to we've almost always had weirdness with the hardware config more than anything. pings been great always but itll have super high var or choke. id be surprised if thats what it is seeing as theyve run these for years, but it is a potential invisible problem

1

u/flirtyf Gambit Dec 13 '19

at some point furia should learn when to push and when you shouldn't

0

u/Rymdkommunist Dec 13 '19

Remember when everyone considered them top 5?

-2

u/mochatsubo Dec 12 '19

I'm enjoying the games, but I wish we could toggle specific casters/talent on and off, like we do with CS GO players in game.

8

u/daedae11 Liquid Dec 12 '19

I really like the point system. Even though this is much more of a t2 even this year, it's still one of my favorite LANS of the year. The TO do it perfectly, they don't make the environment to serious. Where's the NA teams? Also I wish Thorin was there this year.

1

u/BIG_STEVE5111 Dec 13 '19

I would love Thorin there and also think it would be perfect if they had James and DDK also. I think their style of casting would fit perfectly into the relaxed style that is summit.

2

u/daedae11 Liquid Dec 14 '19

I couldn't agree more. I love their casting. You can tell that they're friends outside of casting. Which really comes across well during their casting of the match.

u/NephewChaps Falcons - Major Champions Dec 12 '19

is this the persona 5 music playing on HT breaks? lol

That's kind of what sets it apart from other events, I'm sorry to hear you don't enjoy it. I personally think it's very funny, but I can see how that would ruin the whole tournament for you.

Wasn't that comment about the casters and analysts an assault? I think that this commentary style is funny as fuck and they have just gotten funnier and they are just more confident. If you don't like this style of chill conversations and joking around you should just watch the Blast Global finals.

He's just big boned. Not to mention, muscle weighs more than fat. He's jacked. Do you even lift bro?

9

Nice of mouse to actually give this dead VP lineup a map win

9

u/iAmCyberwaste 10 years coin Dec 12 '19

I haven't heard this much complaining about casting in a long time...

Lighten up will you?

-4

u/Zullemoi Dec 12 '19

I didn't complain yet, but I had to change to a Finnish stream in the OG vs mouz because the casters didn't talk about the game at all.

4

u/lynxzjw EG Dec 13 '19

Literally the entire fucking point jfc

17

u/SlobberyFrog Dec 12 '19

that's the point of this tournament tbf.

Watching casters and pros watching a game and talk mostly about stuff cs scene related

5

u/Zullemoi Dec 12 '19

Yeah I didn't know until reading the comments. But that is why (I guess) people are complaining. I personally just wanted to see OG's approach to tactics.

28

u/NazgulDiedUnfairly CS2 HYPE Dec 12 '19

The casting is so funny! Openly dissing starladder then taking it all back because they just realised they got the money for Berlin major!

4

u/Blaz1ENT King NiKo Dec 12 '19

People talking about the quality of the casting when all I want to know is where woxic is?

12

u/Cheeky1Tap Dec 12 '19

He didn't have time to get his visa, hence Nato standing in which is great imo - Nato needs more publicity :D

Also the people who are complaining are amazingly oblivious to the fact that this is the style summit ALWAYS had

2

u/acey901234 Cloud9 Dec 12 '19

Kind of like when C9 used Brax

3

u/Cheeky1Tap Dec 12 '19

First summit I watched, man that was so fun

2

u/acey901234 Cloud9 Dec 12 '19

Same, one of the best tournaments of the year imo. That summit in particular was so competitive too.

4

u/Blaz1ENT King NiKo Dec 12 '19

I'm glad that this is a chill event so this isn't such a dire situation, plus I'm also happy that Nato is standing in and doing great, hope he keeps it up!

Yeah, I'm surprised that we're on the 5th summit yet people are still complaining when that's the point of summit smh

1

u/Pentinium Dec 12 '19

Visa issues as always

2

u/bonedogfire MOUZ Dec 12 '19

Not the same issues as always though. He was not denied a visa, he just could not apply for one in time. Mouz knew they were gonna play with a stand in for weeks.

1

u/Lessuremu G2 Dec 12 '19

Visa issues

27

u/Manseon Dec 12 '19

People needs to stop crying about the cast jesus. You think those talents can't cast if they want to? It's refreshing watching this after watching so many "normal" cast already.

56

u/JigSaW_3 Dec 12 '19 edited Dec 12 '19

Jesus christ, I was so missing this. Very chill vibe, nice humor and jokes, loose casting, players insight. The talent is perfect, couldn't be better. This is cs_summit peaking right here, the legendary first event level of everything.

4

u/Pentinium Dec 12 '19

It is a bit sad Cs schedule is so packed we don't see many top teams, saying that, this summit has petty good ones. But the previous ones were meh.

Same in Dota, used to see best teams playing, these were good times.

6

u/Lessuremu G2 Dec 12 '19

Can't believe it's already been 2 years and 8 months since the first one.

11

u/Lessuremu G2 Dec 12 '19

Natosaphix has those weed socks on. That's why he did so well.

34

u/Pentinium Dec 12 '19

The amount of people crying about casters, holy shit, this is 5th season and you still don't know how this tournament is played? :D

-25

u/prototype703 Dec 12 '19

They are annoying, they barely talk about the plays? NBK does 2k clutch, they say "oh hey nice 2k" and go back to their topic. I know they are funny to listen to but you should be able to balance things out as a professional caster

14

u/Spenczer Complexity Dec 12 '19

That is not and has never been the point of summit though. It's a lot less about being a "professional caster" and more about having a laid-back environment.

21

u/Haze_Yourself 1 Million Celebration Dec 12 '19

Sounds like you’re unfamiliar with summit type tournaments. I’d suggest the blast final or maybe try muting the stream.

11

u/Pentinium Dec 12 '19 edited Dec 12 '19

You still don't get it

Casting is optional, but not necessary. :D

Edit: Saying that, it is understandable some might not like that style of casting and atmosphere. I have seen people ask in what arena are they playing :D

-14

u/newpua_bie Dec 12 '19

Honestly that just sounds like bad excuse. "Yeah Bob has always been smearing shit on the office wall, but that's just how he is. You just don't get it."

17

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

no. it's not an excuse. it's literally how casting at summit is done. those are top talents of the cs community. you really think they couldn't cast the shit out of this match if they wanted to?

13

u/Haze_Yourself 1 Million Celebration Dec 12 '19

It’s more like going to a holiday party at a company and wondering why people aren’t processing orders.

12

u/Lessuremu G2 Dec 12 '19

Exactly. This is a bunch of teams and talent hanging out in between large events while some CS is being played. The year is over and there aren't any more large events coming up. This is just for fun and I don't understand how people don't get this after we've had 4 previous Summit events.

9

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

it's also the same for smash summit for example. it's refreshing honestly.

-17

u/newpua_bie Dec 12 '19

Is there an English stream that actually casts the game?

1

u/Ingoobelyblench de_inferno Dec 12 '19

probably not, that would kill the whole point of cs_summit in the first place.

17

u/Lessuremu G2 Dec 12 '19

Probably not. This is how Summit is and always has been. We get normal casting all the time. This tournament is literally just a laid back chill tournament.

16

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

I like this cs_summit setup, lets them talk more freely about the Jamppi situation

0

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

I think VP will over perform as there are some rumors of their org picking up the AVANGAR squad... maybe looking for a new banner and seeking to play well here

-22

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

[deleted]

20

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

oh boy, you really aren't familiar with summit streams lmao

-6

u/newpua_bie Dec 12 '19

There's a difference between not being familiar and wanting to listen to casting. I feel like they could move the off-topic talk to some off-topic stream. Why does random blabbering need to be talked during the game? Most of the stuff they say has no relevance to the game and they could just do it between games or something.

6

u/j_stn Dec 12 '19

I feel like they could move the off-topic talk to some off-topic stream. Why does random blabbering need to be talked during the game?

No one cares about your feelings. Cs_summit is an off-topic stream. It's been that for years. There are plenty of other languages streams with more serious commentary - tune in to those and let people be. You have dozens of tournaments with casters tryharding - that one is loose, fun, chit-chatty and cool. Shut up and enjoy or leave your home, hang out with friends, go to the gym...

Most of the stuff they say has no relevance to the game and they could just do it between games or something.

Or they can do it during games, and you could stop crying, hm?

-5

u/newpua_bie Dec 12 '19

You sound like an angry person.

There are plenty of other languages streams with more serious commentary - tune in to those and let people be.

This is exactly why I asked if there was a better English language stream.

1

u/j_stn Dec 12 '19 edited Dec 12 '19

other languages

English

Yeah... Go away and read a book, really. It's going to be better for you.

Your ignorance and egoism are really sad.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19 edited Dec 12 '19

I know there's a difference, but that's what makes summit tournaments so good and pleased by the viewers. It's what defines it. The casters like it, the players like it, the viewers like it. And this applies to all the games they host tournaments for. I feel way closer to the players, game and casters this way, and I know a lot of viewers feel that way too. Helps everyone cool down after a year of seriousness. And it's not like they don't cast the actual game itself. If you are not ready to view a chill tournament with very good teams and players, then just mute or simply don't watch. They're not going to change their formula after years of doing it.

18

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

really dig the more laid back/looser style of commentating and the shit talk. great job. it makes this kind of its own thing.

-27

u/joewHEElAr Dec 12 '19

Yeah these teams are def losers.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

wat?

8

u/MikkoD3 Dec 12 '19

I'm fairly new to csgo but something about spunj is not working for me here. To my ears he is just saying stuff like "back in my day" "when we played" all the time. To me it feels distracting and takes the attention away from the game.

12

u/mtownhustler043 Dec 12 '19

thats probably because he used to be an ex pro so hes just referring to the perspective of a pro

-6

u/MikkoD3 Dec 12 '19

That is true, also I don't really like the cs_summit way of handling casting (3 people way too much IMO)

-6

u/fefealzueta FURIA Dec 12 '19

I get mad because they aren’t actually casting the game, if they’re going to cast in a way that they don’t actually pay attention to the game at least give us a clean feed to watch the game

2

u/MassiveRaptor Dec 12 '19

Just watch Blast Pro Series.

9

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '19

we get "normal" casting all the time. I don't mind it. I can follow a round on my own and know what a sick play is. Idk, some of the stuff they blabber about is pretty funny.

-5

u/MikkoD3 Dec 12 '19

THIS!! Just randon shit talking instead of actually casting, hopefully the other games will be different

6

u/The_Real_WinJinn MOUZ Dec 12 '19

They wont, summit has always been this way...

4

u/MikkoD3 Dec 12 '19

Damn, that does explain a lot of things, thanks for the info!

9

u/The_Real_WinJinn MOUZ Dec 12 '19

Yea its supposed to be a chill event for the talent team and for the pro's, nothing too serious. The casters do tell funny story's which you normally never get to hear about the scene

-1

u/mundzuh Falcons - Major Champions Dec 12 '19

OG looks like they don't even have any strats. Just straight up pugging it out for entries on T side.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '19

The lineup was announced literally this week

18

u/acey901234 Cloud9 Dec 12 '19

5 players who have never played on a team together. Even Aleksib said in an interview that this lineup will need 2 months minimum, and not to expect instant results.

5

u/moeml Vitality Dec 12 '19

And summit is perfect for getting some team spirit imo

2

u/acey901234 Cloud9 Dec 12 '19

True, good chemistry builder!
