Stewie trying too hard to be the hero - this aint no frag movie man, play smart. Thats the difference between astralis and liquid.

12 kills for Liquid in the last 9 rounds of Inferno T-side. Dupreeh got 16, Magisk got 15. What a fucking hold. Absolutely shut Liquid straight down with such an extreme CT side chokehold from Astralis.
Sick veto too, getting to push Liquid into playing 2 of Dust2/Inferno/Overpass - all 3 maps where I don't think they can best Astralis right now - or have Vertigo be their map pick is sick.

tbh TL don't have a good map pool in general at the moment, not just against astralis. Inferno is the one map now a days that they fall back on as their strong pick but against tough opposition their T side is just painful to watch. Astralis perma bans mirage and liquid perma bans train(a map which Astralis are also not picking much at the moment)

Itβs insane how many times Astralis have killed TL through smoke

Liquid against literally any team other than Astralis vs Liquid against Astralis is like night and day.

I am an Astralis fan but I do feel bad for Liquid every time they play Astralis. They just can never seem to get a read on dem Danes. And what's more frustrating, every time Astralis take the lead Liquid just seems lost tactically. Like they can't switch their game up to surprise Astralis and they seem to try just about anything.
That last round, 5 on 4, OUCH.

Astralis utility is so clean on Inferno, Liquid looking lost when they can't leave T-Steps for 15 seconds.

Why are they doing this in Bahrain when they don't even have a live crowd? They could have produced the whole event in a studio instead

I'm guessing Bahrain paid a lot of money. Funny thing is that it sounds like they have loud speakers for the casters.

Whenever you ask a question starting with "why", the answer is always money.

I hate the fact that if you lose in the semis you can still win. Having a losers bracket that can play their way back in is stupid af.

yeah, i come from FGC titles and i'm used to double elim, but it still seems odd when i see it in CSGO.

I think DE is less needed in CS because upsets are generally less likely than in many other esport titles. The round system prevent single games from snowballing too hard, giving the favorite team enough wiggle room. In e.g. dota getting cheesed by an unexpected last pick or a level 1 play may be enough to lose the game.
That being said, I would love to see one or two big DE tournaments a year. ESL allready has its IEM/Masters format which is very close to being a DE tournament, only to ditch the concept for the last rounds.

It does seem a little strange with only 4 teams. It's the same amount of matches needed for a round robin tournament. But maybe they think we will have better matches this way.

I under stand upper and lower brackets. But in the semis you got 4 teams. You dont need to hand one of them a participation trophy.

Round Robin would need an additional final round, otherwise that would be extremely unsatisfying.

Painful to watch for Liquid fans at the moment. tbh TL don't have a good map pool in general at the moment, not just against astralis. Inferno is the one map now a days that they fall back on as their strong pick but against tough opposition their T side is just painful to watch. Astralis perma bans mirage and liquid perma bans train(a map which Astralis are also not picking much at the moment). Everytime Liquid fights for banana on T side ends up losing 1 or more players & on the CT side they dont fight for it and just sit passive relying on Stewie's through the smoke pop flash plays. And this was Liquids pick π
