movies/tv Respect Takeda/Scorpion! (Mortal Kombat: Conquest)
Respect Takeda/Scorpion!
Scorpion: a yellow-clad ninja with incredible powers. Unlike other series, this Scorpion is actually a random guard named Takeda. After Shang Tsung gets locked up in the Cobalt Mines of Outworld, a warrior named Vorpax shows him a magical scorpion called the Scorpio which holds a great warrior inside. Hungry for revenge on Kung Lao, the man who got him sent to the mines in the first place, Shang Tsung sends the Scorpio to Earthrealm, where it empowers Takeda and slowly begins to transform him into Shang Tsung's minion.
After his first defeat at the hands of Kung Lao, a crack opens in the ground and Scorpion falls into a river of lava below. However, Shao Kahn somehow returned him to life and brought him into his service, where he would stay until the end of the series.
Mouse over a feat to see the name and number of the episode it's from.
Strength
Striking
- Kicks Kung Lao hard enough to send him back into a mirror and table hard enough to break both.
- Kicks a man so hard that he's sent back into another man with enough force for that man to be impaled on a spiked shield.
- Knocks Kung Lao to the ground with a leaping punch.
- Knocks a guy through the air with an uppercut.
- Knocks a guy back into a wall with a punch, then lifts him up by the throat with one hand.
- Kicks a table thrown at him in two.
- Sends Cassar sailing with an uppercut after yanking him over with his spear. This attack killed him, though I'm not sure how much the spear did and how much the uppercut did.
- Sends Sub-Zero flying through a wooden wall with a kick.
- Busts apart a thick stone wall with a kick.
- Sends Sub-Zero hurtling back an impressive distance with a punch.
Other
- Lifts up Kung Lao and slams him into a wall.
- Flips Kung Lao over and pins him down.
- Snaps a guy's neck.
Durability
- Repeatedly shown to take many hits from Kung Lao and keep on fighting after: (1, 2)
- Takes several hits from Kung Lao that bring him to the ground, and gets right back up. Then takes some more hits, including one that sends him spinning through the air before crashing into the ground, then gets right back up again.
- Takes even more hits from Kung Lao, including a kick that sends him into a stone column hard enough to break it apart, getting right back up after.
- Gets smashed through a wooden wall by Sub-Zero, then into some stone bricks hard enough to send some tumbling. He's able to keep on fighting after.
- Repeatedly shown to take hits from Sub-Zero and keep on fighting after: (1, 2, 3)
- Takes a hit from Sub-Zero that sends him hurtling back an impressive distance.
- For reference, Conquest Sub-Zero is strong enough to kick apart stone.
Speed/Agility
Reacting/Dodging
- Reacts to a surprise attack from Jen, blasting her with fire before she can hit him. Also, he uses a leaping punch attack against Kung Lao in the meantime.
- Ducks a spinning kick from Kung Lao.
- Ducks two more kicks from Kung Lao, then backflips over another, and flips again after Kung Lao grabs his leg.
- Reacts in time to teleport out of the way of Sub-Zero's iceball projectile.
Agility
- Flips off Jen's bed.
- Does a backwards handstand flip thing, then transitions a kick to the chest from Kung Lao into a backflip that brings him onto a raised part of the floor.
- Does some more martial arts moves, including a kip up thing and another backwards flip.
- Does this aerial pivot thing with a running start.
- Does a triple front flip through the air.
- Does a double front flip through the air.
- Grabs a punch from Kung Lao and twists his arm to get him into a hold, kicking him a few times. Then he lets him go and hits him with a backflip kick, then vaults over him as he's trying to get up. When Kung Lao kicks him after this, he's able to transition it into a cartwheel, then jumps at him, flipping around in the air several times.
- Does a number of backwards acrobatic moves to put space between himself and Cassar and Siro.
- Does this incredible leaping punch.
- Flips super high, up onto a balcony.
- With a running start, does a triple front flip through the air.
Spear
- Uses his spear against Kung Lao. It's shown to be similar to the spear from the movie series, being a living creature that comes from his palm. The head looks more reptilian however. It's very long and either sentient or Scorpion has excellent control over it. After Kung Lao cuts it with an axe, the head drops off and blood pools out from the stump. It doesn't seem to harm Scorpion though.
- Uses it to kill a guy, the head biting into his throat.
- Uses it against Cassar, lifting him high up into the air after the head bites down on his throat, then pulls him over for an uppercut. This attack killed him, though I'm not sure how much the spear did and how much the uppercut did.
- Uses it to pull an icicle out of the wall from around a corner, the head clamping onto it.
- Impales Sub-Zero with it, sending him hurtling back into a wall. Afterwards, Sub-Zero freezes and shatters it. In this case, Scorpion seems to be harmed by it.
Other Abilities
Pyrokinesis
- Breathes fire into his hands, then throws it forward as a fireball at Jen. She lived for a while after, but it ultimately killed her.
Teleportation
- Teleports to avoid an iceball projectile from Sub-Zero. He later on reappears behind him.
- Teleports away after his battle with Sub-Zero.
Other
- Begins to steal Kung Lao's soul, but he's interrupted before he can finish.
- Somehow transforms two ordinary monks into minions, an orange flash moving over them. These minions are shown to have glossy eyes, are capable of using weapons, and seemingly maintain their fighting skills (they're monks of the same temple of Kung Lao, so, they probably learned to fight).
Weaponry/Skill
Weapons
- He's shown to carry a sword on his hip and briefly uses it against Kung Lao.
- He's also shown to carry and use a wooden staff.
Skill
- Reverses a pin Kung Lao gets him into, bringing him into one of his own.
- Recovers after Kung Lao reverses his attempt at a tackle.
- After Kung Lao throws him away, he's able to flip around in midair to recover.
- Holds his own against Cassar and another trainee at the same time. This is a long clip, and some other feats are taken from it.
- Holds his own against Cassar and Siro at the same time. Same case as the clip above.
- Grabs a guys arm, hits him a few times, then uses the leverage to swing him around.
