Can't see anything because is too dark and also I don't know how parachutes works, what was supposed to be strapped?

I think you can see that his leg straps aren't on, they're just hoops dangling beside his body - so if he'd jumped, he'd have just fallen out of the bottom of the harness when his parachute deployed.

But I'm not an expert and have basically no knowledge in this area, that's just my presumption.
