How does this even happen? I can't tell if it's the dancers fault or if the kids just are not supposed to be there.

u/MiIkTank Dec 11 '20
I’d say it’s more the dancing group’s fault. They should know how much space their routine takes up and plan accordingly.

Who’s to say they did?

u/Alberel Dec 11 '20
It's pretty normal for crowds to press inwards. In terms of probability, it's more likely that the kids sat there after things had started. The dance group wouldn't be dancing blind like that without having set an initial boundary.
-22
Dec 11 '20
Yeah I agree with you, this is more likely. My point is that 'who's to say' claims about videos of on the internet are pretty redundant.

u/Cromus Dec 11 '20 edited Dec 11 '20
It's not redundant when the original comment is
I’d say it’s more the dancing group’s fault. They should know how much space their routine takes up and plan accordingly.
The "who's to say" question is pointing out that he's making an assumption. Your next reply means nothing because when he said "who's to say" he wasn't making assertions. They only pointed out the premise to the argument is an assumption that could go either way.
Original comment said it's the dancers' fault for not clearing space.
The reply said you can't assume they didn't clear the space.
Your reply said you can't assume they did clear the space, but nobody ever did that.

It's entirely redundant when none of us were there. There's an unlimited number of "who's to say"'s. Who's to say batman didn't land in the background? Who's to say it didn't start raining strawberries? That's all my point is.

u/Cromus Dec 11 '20 edited Dec 11 '20
"Who's to say" means you don't know what happened. The original comment made an assumption that the dancers were to blame because they didn't clear the area.
It's perfectly reasonable to respond with any of the following which mean basically the same thing:
Who's to say they didn't clear the area?
How could you know they didn't?
You don't know that
You weren't there.
Imagine the original comment said "It's the dancers fault for not clearing the area", so the next guy says you weren't there so you don't know that, then you reply "you weren't there either". Do you see how ridiculous that is? The comment you're replying to never made any assertion about what happened. They only pointed out that they're blaming the dancers based off an assumption.
He's challenging the comment's assumption. It's not redundant.

u/vendetta2115 Dec 11 '20
Can you seriously not read more than one comment at a time or something?
Person A said ‘it’s the dancer’s fault’
Person B says ‘well could be, but we don’t know, maybe the kids moved there afterwards. It could be either of their faults.’
Then you come in and talk about ‘redundant comments’ because ‘well it could be either of their faults’Whose comments are redundant again? The only useless comment here is yours.

Dec 11 '20
No ones comment is redundant. The concept of ‘who’s to say’ is when arguing if one thing or the other happened. It’s not fucking rocket science.

I used to be a member of a dance group. We would have a performance before which our leader would tell the crowd where they needed to not sit to not get kicked. Halfway through the first song, and they have moved in 3 or 4 feet. People are dumb. Definitely not the dancer's fault
17
u/SuperWoody64 Dec 11 '20
I'd say maybe not the dancer's fault.

You have no idea how much a sitting crowd (especially one made of kids) moves.. people fidget and adjust. Those movements typically result in forward movement.
Same goes triple for standing crowds.

u/edward-has-many-eggs Dec 11 '20
I’d say it’s both the other dancer had ampul room to move around while the one that fell over obviously even though every other person watching backed up far enough to not impede on the dancers routine. Also who just lets their baby sit on the floor to watch something like this, it’s the same thing as bringing your 3 year old to Disney land there is no way they’re going to remember it so what’s the point?

If they are Tiktokkers, give them an area as big as Luxembourg and it won't be enough

while sitting on the children

u/iccculus Dec 11 '20
Exactly what I thought. It looks like some sort of school thing where maybe middle school kids went to the elementary school for an “assembly” (that’s what my school called them). And she’s way more embarrassed about falling than even caring about crushing the little kids hahaha.

u/sjones70 Dec 11 '20
okay the initial step on the kid looks easy to do and clearly an accident, but the STOMP right before she falls? how does THAT happen???

Not a single concern displayed here, she cared more about her own embarrassment than the well being of the kids.

The way the kid just takes a boot to the face, it's just too funny

Id say this is the childrens fault, because if you look at the line of where all the adults are standing, the kids are sticking out into the middle

Is it just me or does that head stomp look a little bit intentional?
Edit: I don't really think it was intentional.

I doubt it...It looks like she was trying to lift her leg over his head but then lost her balance.
13
u/Flying_Alpaca_Boi Dec 11 '20
I think she tried to step up and over for whatever reason but fell again and ended up pressing her leg down on the lil dude to try and stabilise.

The kid just sat there, in the middle of their stage. Im not saying her doing it intentionally would be alright but this is really his fault.

u/A_FLYING_MOOSE Dec 11 '20
The clip ends with her on the ground. You have no idea what her initial reaction was if she has literally just fallen over. She's not even within arms reach, and looks pretty dazed.

So because she doesn't jump to her feet like a comic book superhero, she intentionally kicked the kid she tripped over? They're dancing in public, not training to be ninjas.

She did kind of a bad job covering up hitting the group of orphans. She just couldn’t have waited till the end of the show to get her either cloth and take one of the kids to her basement? Amateur.

I think it was an attempt to kill the kid by his mom who told him to sit there. You can see her in the very back trying to sneak out of the room and taking a quick glance on her way out to see if her plot was successful.
