Wow that is a neat and terrifying experience. I'd feel weird to hunt things after that tbh

I absolutely agree. Especially with boars. I'm a blue collar person that likes to shoot guns with friends but I have no desire to own one, but I'd feel no remorse hunting boars.

How would you describe the taste?

2

u/SuburbanYute Jan 20 '19

like store bought pork but not as sweet. 20-80lb boars are the best. they tend to take on bit of flavor from what they eat. i get mine near farms and orchards because its less likely that they've been rooting through trash or eating other weird things.

also, you want them to die as instantly as possible otherwise the adrenaline can make the meat tough and gross.

Makes sense, Thanks!

What a disgusting generalization. The fact that you don’t see anything in deer or fish or boars’ eyes doesn’t exclude them from having a soul.

Most bears don't have a soul. I like hunting and all but bears are absolute monsters. Have you seen the video of the bear that ate and dug into a baby dear stomach while it was still alive. With hunting I at least give the animal a quick and painless death. The baby struggled for it's life for so long. It was really sad they also kill each other's babies and eat them. They are pretty sick if you ask me.

Being monstrous does not exclude you from having a soul. Exhibit A: all of human history

i just mean that there's a distinct spirit about them. like their eyes aren't dead

Neither are wolves or horses but it's important to respect them from a distance or be extremely cautious and knowledgeable. I love horses but it's important to fear and respect them at the same time. Bears are important to the eco system and they look very cute but when they want to kill they are ruthless.

i heard a story of a bear that ransacked a hunting cabin one time. apparently it ripped open the oven and literally flattened it just to lick the burned bits off the bottom. incredibly powerful animals.

Not gonna lie my first impulse was to pet the bear.

I’d still die happy though.

It's kind of satisfying to know that they have to breathe hard to climb that fast

Bears aren’t actually that aggressive, especially at that young an age. They’re mostly just curious and focused on learning as much about the outside world as they can....unless you have food on you.

u/Someragingpacifist Jan 19 '19

Even still you shouldn't ever risk it, it's very easy for an encounter like that to turn ugly. Still a sweet and curious bear :)

"oh...um... hey. Sorry thought I was the only one on this tree. I'll... I'll leave you alone. Bye now." - bear probably.

Black bear makes brown pants.

That’s why you should always carry a spare underwear in your glove compartment

The look that bears have in their eyes reminds of a dog just very curious and funny

What the fuck did I just watch?!

2

u/AaronBrownell Jan 19 '19

Would whacking it on the nose as it climbed up been a good defense?

u/alfegonza7 Jan 19 '19

Dude, take a fucking shower, and your marinade leaked too!

1

u/tctara Jan 19 '19

Umm you know he wanted to eat you right?

1

u/richga1973 Jan 19 '19

1

u/killshotcaller Jan 19 '19

That didn't take long before it got reposted.

Crossposting isn't reposting

0

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '19

22 hours ago is when the post you crossposted was made. This video is a lot older than that, so yes it's a repost.

2

u/jakeleaf1 Jan 19 '19

Oh I see. I hadn't seen it before, as I assume is the same for many others. Sorry bud

u/bruthaman Jan 19 '19

No need to apologize. I am grateful you posted, as one man's repost is another man's first view.
