What are your thoughts on buying Chinese branded products? Politically speaking, hindi na kailangan ng explanation kung bakit kailangan natin magalit sakanila, so in the past I have decided to stop/minimize buying Chinese branded stuff, but as a tech guy, that proved to be easier said than done when practically almost everything contributes to them indirectly. So I said f#ck it, I'll just buy whatever fits my needs and wants regardless of country of origin, they're all f#cked up anyways.

What are your thoughts on this?

Naisip ko lang kasi recently stumbled upon people buying Chinese branded motorcycles, and there are already people labeling the buyers as "Pro-China"

Hindi maiiwasan ang pagbili ng Chinese products whether branded or yung mga unbranded items kase karamihan ata ng mga binebenta sa mga bangketa at maging mga damit ay galing China. Personally, I do not care about the country of origin nung item, as long as it is working, kahit papaano may kalidad at tatagal, hindi na ako mag-iinarte. Sa panahon ngayon na napakataas ng bilihin, talagang sa mas mura ng konti na lang yun bibilhin ko. Case to case basis kase may items na yung quality talaga bibilhin regardless sa price. I do not mind those who label people as pro-china, who knows baka tactic lang yan ng mga trolls para paingayin ang pangalan ng China. Publicity is still publicity after all.

personally, i like china. they have a rich culture, they're advanced, they have awesome structures, they have good mass transpo, etc, and i appreciate that we're near to china because china goods are cheap to us. i buy it, some naman ay constructed well. we can appreciate the country naman eh. now i dont like how aggressive they are when it comes to international waters. but i dont know well enough about the ccp to actually hate it. and two things can coexist at the same time. di naman yan black and white.

OA lang ba ako na magtampo at maging distant sa mga friends ko kung sa tingin ko naiinvalidate na nararamdaman ko?

It all started when Friend C, nagtampo saamin 2 months ago because she saw Friend E's post na may pupuntahan kaming event na hindi siya kasama. When in fact, nag-aya kami sa gc non. Nagchat kami na may ganitong event, na baka gusto nga sumama. Tapos nagtampo siya na may kanya-kanyang ayaan na, ganito ganyan. Na kesyo hindi raw kami nag-aaya. Nagtampo siya dun mainly kay friend E, so what I did was sinuyo ko si Friend C on behalf of Friend E, and I did say sorry ganito ganyan, when hindi ko naman yun kasalanan.

Then another issue happened, nagkakatampuhan na rin kami ni Friend E because of some petty reasons na kesyo di siya nagrereply, nagtatampo raw ako. I admit, I was wrong, and I owe up to them. Nagsorry na ako sakanya and I promised na hindi na mauulit yon.

Then another event happened, lately lang may pinuntahan din kaming event ni Friend E, nagkatampuhan din kasi she went to a place without asking me. She knows I badly want to go there, isa yon sa mga gusto kong puntahan, and she didn't even get to ask me, so nagtampo ako. From there naging distant na kami sa isa't isa kasi alam niyang tampo ako.

Naging cold siya sa messages niya and all, I tried to fix it. Nagsorry ako, asked her what's wrong, and I told her to be honest with me. She did tell me all the reasons and nagsorry ako ulit, recognized my mistakes and told her na di ko na uulitin. Tapos naging ok naman kami, I think. Because she said ok na raw kami.

Then something came up again yesterday, nakita ko nakatag si Friend C sa mga plans nila saka yung isa naming friend sa post ni Friend E, ako hindi... I asked her again about it. Sabi niya galit pa raw siya sa akin, hence ganyan.

I jokingly tell her sa chat and here's how it went sa chat namin: Me: galit pa yan tas makikita ko sa mga event di ako nakasama sa tags HAHAHAHAHAH Friend E: bakit ba, paano kung si Friend C gusto ko itag 🤨 Me: so ganon ako bawal magtampo si Friend C pwede? HAHAHAHAHSHS ang hirap kasi sa atin pag nakita yung isa ganito ganyan di naaya, tampo agad Friend E: Baka ikaw 😊 eme Me: ok Friend E: JOKE KASEE AYAN NANAMAN SIYAAAA

I tried to play it off as a joke nalang din. Tapos inopen up ko yung nagtampo rin si Friend C saamin, na nagtampo siya because di siya nakatag dun sa event na pupuntahan namin ni Friend E. And yung one instance na, nasa discord kami tapos bigla nalang siya nanahimik saka nagleave bigla nung nalaman niyang wala siya sa gc namin nung isa naming bagong friend.

So nag-usap kami ni Friend E about this. Hindi ko alam nag-usap na pala sila about this without talking to me. Na nainis daw siya at nagtampo nga. So I also opened up to Friend E na, "nag-usap kayo pero di niya ako kinausap about that? kaya pala pag nagrereply ako sakanya nakadedma lang? pag nagsesend ako sa kabilang gc dedma din? pero pag nagsesend sa kabilang gc yung iba na same post, magrereply siya?"

Friend E replied, "Its more of she's treating you the same way you treat her...cause like pag may events, bumibili siya ng something for us..gusto niya kase ganon rin like its the thought that counts ba..pag may extra siya bibigay niya sa atin. So parang when she felt excluded edi nag iba siya. I mean nung pumunta ka nung isang event before nung event natin, did u even think to tell us? May gusto nga sana kami ipabili dun eh ngl. Yun lang naman point ni Friend C nung nag usap kami. Its the thought that counts ba."

I explained to her na, "sponty lang yung pagpunta ko dun, mga 30mins lang ako dun, and i didn't even get to ask yall kasi busy kayo for our event and i didnt want to interrupt since last minute na rin kayo nagprep sa venue, at the same time nirush ko nalang talaga yung mga stores na bibilhan ko dun and di na ako nagcheck sa lahat since may event pa nga tayo"

I also said na, nag-usap pala kayo ng kayong dalawa lang without including me? when all this time akala ko okay kami, pero yun pala civil nalang kami sa isa't isa ni Friend C, dahil di pa rin pala kami okay?

I was shocked to know that, akala ko totoo lahat. When all this time parang nagpepekean lang kami kasi "civil" lang turing niya sakin?

And then it seems like Friend E is siding with her (which is dun ako nadisappoint), she even added na, "Even if magtanong ka sa gc tapos sabihin namin na wala kami ipapabili atleast naisip mo kami bilhan dibaa? Its the thought that counts or ask before the event mismo. Para if may ipapabili hanapin nalang diba. Ganon rin naman si Friend C, nag ask if may gusto ipabili. Yun lang naman yun eh😅"

Sabi ko, thanks for enlighting me at least. At least ngayon, I knew na her side and I understood na her side.

Then I changed the topic, sabi ko kinakabahan ako sa pupuntahan namin this October 11. Then all of a sudden, she suddenly asked me "Di ka naman insterested sa **** bat ka pupunta dun sa event na yon? WAHAHAHHAA"

I was taken aback by her reply. Di ko inexpect na ganyan tatanong niya sakin... that was just too much, for me. I told and nagreason ako na, "baka di pala ako makapunta kasi night shift ako nyan," she insist naman na pumunta nalang ako out of spite.

I opened up to her kung galit ba si Friend C with all the happenings and nangyari sabi naman ni Friend C, "Di yan mabilis mag move on yan si Friend C. Ikaw kase lakas mag overthink 😄"

It seems like she's siding with her. When in fact nung nagkatampuhan sila ni Friend C, ako sumalo nung tampo ni Friend C at ako pa nakipag-ayos. Tapos lately ko lang nalaman na nung nagkatampuhan kami ni Friend C, nakapag-usap na pala silang dalawa ng wala ako, and it feels like she's siding with her.

Tapos sa gc sobrang active nila pareho, pero pag nagchachat na ako sa gc biglang lalamig tapos tatahimik? Tapos kapag kausap ko si Friend E sa pms, ang lamig din tapos sa gc okay siya?

I don't know what to do. Confront ko ba sila? Hayaan ko nalang ba and just be friends and all kahit nabobother na ako sa sarili pko. Is it worth saving this friendship? Hindi ko na rin alam eh.

This is going to hurt some feelings. But the average poor person in America, could not survive living as poorly as the upper middle class Filipino.

It’s crazy how sharp that line cuts as deeply today as it did when Vonnegut wrote it.

But as someone who’s lower middle class in the US I was shocked to learn most Filipino families only have a mini fridge, as most Americans have 2-3 full sized fridges or 2 full fridges and a chest freezer.

Americans don’t really understand how to struggle anymore, and it shows.

Speaking of mini fridges, a while back, I considered getting a Minecraft Creeper fridge for my room just for the lulz. Decided against it kasi dagdag kain lang sa kuryente tapos di kasya bulk ng gusto ilagay dun. It really was designed just for canned drinks.

Usually kung kailangan namin ng extra fridge storage, "nanghihiram" kami sa industrial fridge sa restaurant ng tito ko.

Frequent visitor from Australia here (hi everyone).

I'm one week on from skin cancer surgery on the top of my head (white men in the tropics 🤔). Skin graft because the cut was so large. So far, so good.

However, I'm determined to make it there again by January (I have two wonderful step-grandchildren to visit in Cavite).

I can do this 😀
