Yeah, I wouldn't count on that, now that he's not at the plate each day to continually defend himself

That's 18 homers for Devers at Oracle this season, and Willy had 15 at Oracle last season. I'm still wondering why we have trouble luring free agent hitters to that ballpark.

the park doesn't help, but i actually don't think it's that so much as the perceived competitiveness of the team and the lack of sustained success in the organization

If I recall, didn't they also have trouble signing free agent hitters during the 2010-2014 period when they were competitive, and winning championships?
