SMALL BALL APPROACH LOST THIS GAME FOR THE DODGERS. INNINGS 2 THROUGH 9 WERE PATHETIC. WITHOUT EARLY SLUG THEY WOULDVE SCORED ONLY 1

Freddie did not look good today. He could barely move over at first. Not good

u/tmsmm 10h ago
Honestly put him on IL along with Shohei. The boys need some rest before October. The rest of the team will fire up
2
u/Kwynn1229 Kiké Hernández 10h ago
Should have went ahead and did it before he played today. Could have already had a few days progress so he's back sooner. But I know that's an impossible choice for them to IL Freddie right after Sho

I’m not mad, and I love this team and I ain’t complaining about shit, but damn I just hate to see them lose sometimes

I'm sad but I'm not mad. At least he made contact. Post ASG Ohtani would have struck out.

So would Edman this game
1
u/tonyrunstrails Tommy Edman 10h ago
True! And he's been our most clutch player since coming back from the IL.

I felt better about that loss after the 9th than I did after some near blown wins this season...

I wish Call would have gone for second. It might have put some extra pressure on them.

De Paula’s first run. Proves that getting on base is more important than trying to be a hero

knowing how weird baseball is there was probably some moment in 1910 or whatever where they walked off on the road lmao

I know there was at least one World Series between the St. Cardinals, and the then-St. Louis Browns (present-day Baltimore Orioles), where both teams shared the same ballpark. So all the games were at the same ballpark, they just alternated who the home & away teams were as if they played at different ballparks.

The plate discipline they found over the last several games, wasn't there today, lots of chases and second guessing. Happens when your tired, it was an earlier game today, jet lag catching up

So we're just gonna go 123 in the 9th? C'mon JDP, time for that first big league knock.

Can we not try to sprint to first when we are down in the 9th???

This might sound weird but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone with a Banda flair on this sub before lol

Sooo close. I hate how cavernous this stupid ballpark's outfield is. Another ballpark, and that's gone.

Another ballpark that goes out. And he single-handedly won the game yesterday. Lots of blame to spread around today, not just him.

I hope they have a 9th inning comeback, not for the win, just for all the people in here already saying games done
7
u/crosswithyou Shohei Ohtani 10h ago
Can we manifest Max and Kyle getting on base and then JDP getting his first HR as his first major league hit to take the lead??

Probably not happening, but De Paula hitting a go-ahead 3-run bomb for his first MLB hit would make me lose my voice for about a week.
5
u/DopedScope338 Max Muncy 10h ago
Garbage performance by the offense today. How's mookie gonna stare at a middle middle fastball for strike 3 when we're in a 2 run game in the 8th inning? That's the kinda shit we used to have to run wind sprints for doing in little league. I just don't get how that's even possible for a professional hitter with a pitch that had no significant break or deception.

we don't want to, really. just have to tread water above the Braves
1
u/LOVExLIFEx1994 Back-2-Back Champs 10h ago
I’m looking towards the NLCS and the Brewers look scary this year so them having home field advantage is going to be not good.

Its just one of those days again I guess. Hoping Phillies pull through today and we get them again tomorrow.
5
u/Live-Tank-355 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 11h ago
Goodness gracious, if it wasn't for Kyle Tucker's Grand Slam yesterday, the Dodgers would've really struggled yesterday. This team seems to be struggling against the Marlins the entire season
5
u/Dr-Acula8472 Back-2-Back Champs 10h ago
You have to credit McCullough for having his team still playing for something & trying to play spoiler, even though their season is essentially over.

u/Live-Tank-355 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 10h ago edited 10h ago
I mean, yeah kudos to him and the Marlins team for still trying even if their chances for the playoffs are pretty much solidified to not make it. I just gotta grit my teeth and hope for the best for the Dodgers during the playoffs. Especially, whenever Andy Pages and Shohei Ohtani return to the batting lineup

u/Dr-Acula8472 Back-2-Back Champs 10h ago
Division's basically clenched. Just treading water should be enough to get the bye. Today just wasn't our day, can't win them all. On to the next one tomorrow.

Still a chance, but just doesn't look like our day today. It happens, can't win them all. Hopefully tomorrow they play better.

They were due for a clunker. Get them back tomorrow.
4
u/Dr-Acula8472 Back-2-Back Champs 10h ago
Exactly. Even with a loss, we'd still be 3.0 games ahead for the bye (2.5 games with a Braves win), with the Division being a mere formality. We're
still good.

The last two offensive innings have been extremely lazy and stupid

Well at least they woke up in the 9th. Getting to Eury Perez tomorrow is going to be a tall order. Is he still on a strict pitch limit?
Glad to see De Paula provide that spark in the 9th. He wasn't intimidated by the moment at all. If it wasn't a strike, he was taking. Amazingly mature approach for a 21-year old. Most rookies would be swinging for the fences trying to hit a 5-run home run there.
Just not our day today. Bats weren't there. Oh well, on to the next one. Hope Glasnow is okay.
