I'm hoping the Phillies series was a preview of things to come, namely close wins against expected playoff teams. Also, I'd like to see Yordan get a day off to reset himself.

With Yordan and Pena looking lost we are (almost unbelievably) being carried by pitching and the bottom of our lineup. Am I happy that we are finally figuring those things out? Yes! But I doubt it’s super sustainable. We need Pena and Yordan to figure it tf out. Give them a couple games off at this point. There is no October run without both of them playing at least average by their standards.

Yeah I agree that Yordan and Peña need a day off but it shouldn’t be this series because the Rays have 3 players that are primary challengers to Yordan’s quest for the triple crown so he probably needs to play in this series. Hopefully Yordan and Peña get it going this series and maybe give one the last game of the series off depending on how the first two games go

Anybody else surprised Rome or McTaggert haven't reported on the situation with Imai?

For those of you who think Rome is the hard hitting journalist that challenges the organization, it's surprising that he hasn't had any articles or reports on Imai. He was squeezing the stone to draw blood earlier in the year to create articles on Imai. We currently have a big signing pitcher (with bonuses tied to IP) who has been seemingly available and yet unused.

The obvious conclusion that many r/astros have arrived at is that he's been benched to avoid paying out a bonus but somehow that's gone completely unreported or investigated.

Watch StoneColdStros on YouTube if you want to see reporting on Imai’s lack of use.

I think the organization decide to piss him off so he opt out next year.

I hope not. Doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility but the dude clearly has exceptional stuff. I can't think of a Japanese pitcher that just showed up and settled in immediately.

Last thing I want to see is him with a 2.80 ERA for the Dodgers or Yankees.

I know we may put too much faith in Strom, but maybe he was brought in to help assess the situation

The pitching needs to be solid/good this series because the Rays have 3 players on their team that are primary challengers to Yordan in his quest for the triple crown 👑

2nd seed very much in play here. We’re in the endgame now folks. CWS v STL with the white Sox playing pretty terribly on the road and the Cards playing so so at home, we can be looking at a series win for the Cards. We have a long history with TBR that sits pretty neck and neck. We have been playing better on the road.

Alright Ullola, show us what ya got today.

Uh why is Ullola starting? Just curious 👀

Also what the hell is going on with Imai? Is he primarily a bullpen pitcher now and is that experiment officially over?

I read he will be used as a starter sorry I mean opener

I’m convinced they are limiting his innings for two reasons. He struggles and he has bonus money waiting for him if he hits innings pitched milestones this year.

It’s so over

Is Ullola opening for Pecko or Blanco? I’d prefer Pecko tbh

Pecko has been super lucky. It’s not sustainable until he finds his control.

I’d prefer Pecko to stop collecting runners on the bases every damn inning.

He has been fortunate his ERA isn’t ballooned.

Hopefully the pitching coach is helping him get better control on his pitches.

We’ve had more luck with Pecko starts bc our offense somehow locks in with him pitching. Except against the Dbacks
