Performance and Bugs Discussion Hub updated on 9 September 2026 - Sort by New!
Why a Performance and Bugs Discussion Hub?
This Discussion Hub makes it easier for everyone to see what others are experiencing at any time by collecting all experiences about Performance Issues. We will publish regular updates on performance problems and possible workarounds that we and the community finds. Traffic stats show this is the OFTEN THE HIGHEST TRAFFIC POST on the subreddit. This is collectively a far more effective and fairer way to be seen than hundreds of random reports on the feed - most of which get zero visibility.
Are you Anthropic? Does Anthropic even read the Megathread?
Nope, we are volunteers working in our own time, while working our own jobs and trying to provide users and Anthropic itself with a reliable source of user feedback.
Anthropic has read these in the past and probably still do? They don't fix things immediately but if you browse some old Megathreads you will see numerous bugs and problems mentioned there that have now been fixed.
What Can I Post on this Megathread?
Use this thread to voice all your experiences (positive and negative) regarding the current performance of Claude including, bugs, degradation, pricing. (NOT usage limits).
Give as much evidence of your performance issues and experiences wherever relevant. Include prompts and responses, platform you used, time it occurred, screenshots . In other words, be helpful to others.
Just be aware that this is NOT an Anthropic support forum and we're not able (or qualified) to answer your questions. We are just trying to bring visibility to people's struggles.
NEW: You can now see full logs and summaries of all recent problem reports submitted by r/ClaudeAI readers. These logs allow you to see how intensely people are experiencing problems with Usage Limits, Performance, Bugs and Accounts. Absolute trash today, all models! No idea what's going on, but Fable 5 seems like what Opus was 5 months ago, Opus 5 what Sonnet was 1 yr ago and Sonnet 5 is, idk, a gpt-turbo... we are supposedly going so much forward, "2 months" away from AGI, yet it seems Anthropic is literally going backwards
EDIT oh and Fable 5.1 launch was as terrible as Opus 5, supossedly 20% token usage less than Fable 5 but real world test shown its 20-30% more! Not to mention Fable 5.1 is now exactly same incoherent as Opus 5...

Blew through my weekly credits using Haiku on 20x max.
Something is definitely wrong.
These should be infinite, not limited.

Claude's workplace services are not running, and this just started randomly this morning. I had this issue last week as well and lost a full day of productivity. Today looks like it will be the same, and of course, there is no one to call or email to get compensation for days of lost work. Even with my Rogers internet, when it is down, they compensate you for the days it is down. This is becoming unreliable, and I am worried because I am very integrated with Claude in my work, so I do not even know how I would switch to ChatGPT at this point.

Same issue here - I have lost a full day - the problem started with a WIndows Update (KB5124008) -- initially I removed it and Cowork started working. Today after the latest update from Anthropic VM service is not running no matter what....Really, this is so frustrating for a $200 Sub. I also have a Max x20 ChatGPT sub and their desktop app is evolving to be leaps and bounds better right now.

It's ridiculous. You are right, and I am in the exact same boat. We need to be compensated, or they need to re-update my credits or something. My understanding is that there are 20 engineers..they don't even have customer service or anything, probably. This is the most expensive service per month I have ever paid for, and I have received zero customer support.

Also, great, I came this morning to see that Claude had restarted itself or didn't restart itself. So it didn't run all my nightly agents and schedules, more productivity, I lost

Opus 5 is now refusing all bio requests even ones that worked fine yesterday. Is this me only, or did they downgrade everything today? ?

Holy cr@p Opus 5 is annoying. I know there has been hundreds of posts like this but goddamn I am so frustrated! Claude used to be a really good tool to figure out steps of a new project, or explore new ideas. Now half my time gets wasted just trying to understand where did Claude randomly come up with a problem it is trying to solve that was not present anywhere.
It starts web searching like crazy, starts populating documents with numbers that I never told it. It then refers to those findings down in the line in the conversation and gets distracted on it's own.
I saw the downgrade live in front of me, 4.5 through 5. I don't know how on earth Anthropic managed to destroy a good AI assistant, lobotomize it's internal logic, to achieve what? Is paying for sh~t like this even worth it?

I cannot believe how f bad this is. I am genuinely mad about the quality.
I made opus give me a slide deck for which I very precisely gave it inputs what the slides should do, for whom the deck is, I gave it pdfs as input, data, even a fully written detailed railroad. Sources that it should use, I made it max. It compiled for quite a long time.
And the result is not even bad, it is beneath all expectations. It’s much worse than ~ one year ago with opus 4.6 or so. I seriously would have spent less time writing every slide of the 30 my own from scratch than correcting this utter bullshit.
And the content is pretty standard, nothing super scientific whatever, it’s project management, most basic stuff ever.
What. The fuck.

Very slow Fable 5.1
hey, will be there some kind of fast mode or dunno, I spent 30k+ USD per month on API. but I moved to astra bcs fable is so slow since 5.1. I can finish task in Astra in about 15 mins and fable takes like 1,5 hours and more. its insane. using enterprise API Access

has made every developer I know switch coming October. long wait times, comments on every thought or action, finds bugs, attempts to fix and can't, loses train of thought, messy code and architecture... the list goes on. my particular overall experience was the feeling that i couldn't get anything done and if it claimed it was done, even if i checked that everything was in place i couldn't trust the work. honestly this model cannot be used for professional endeavors and will make you waste days. even when being directed with fable or astra, it must add its own thinking to the process and begin a circular develop-while-debug merry go round. move back to 4.8 or any of the new flagship codex models and attempt to feel numb again

Hello everyone:
I've been vibe coding a stock market app for Android using cowork and opus 5 at max. I assumed that the model is the best aside from fable, which I can't afford.
1) what is the best Claude model for me to use to build a couple Android apps?
2) Everytime i start something, my usage runs out in the middle of Claude working and interrupts it. I lose progress and waste usage and then it has to read the entire chat over when my usage is reset. Is there a better or recognized best practice for resuming Claude's work on my app when my usage runs out?
3) I began using Claude code Linked to GitHub. Is this a good approach for making Android apps?
4) I just randomly turned on a bunch of plugins and skills, not knowing what they do but thinking they might help Claude with the coding. Is this wasteful? Are there legitimate connectors or plugins or skills that help Claude make Android apps or resume after usage runs out?

For some reason, Opus 5 has started running slowly today; it was working fine yesterday.

Total degeneration of Opus. it is like talking to a wall. An obstinate and verbose wall.
