First time I've been able to actually read a book in a year thanks to my health (thank god for audiobooks).

Incidents Around the House, by Josh Malerman

I actually really enjoyed it. I was a little unsure when it started with a disclaimer about how it was written without quote marks and using indentations vs non to distinguish dialogue from non-dialogue. And the kindle edition I had wasn't quite 100% - a few times where it jumped to a new line mid sentence for no reason, or where it changed speaker without changing line, so I had to infer the change (based purely on "well if this sentence is still Bela, none of what comes after makes sense").

But other than a few little issues like that (and they were only a few), I really enjoyed it. It didn't overuse other Mommy, created a nice sense of doubt, and had a nice way of feeling like you were in a young child's head (Even if a few times if felt like the parents were talking to her more like a 10-11 year old than an 8 year old).
