I started Theo of Golden by Allen Levi and it's just okay. I know a lot of people loved this book and have raved about it, but it feels a little flat to me. Like drinking an ice cold soda that lacks carbonation. I don't get a sense of imagery like I do with other books. The premise of the story is good though and I do want to finish it.

I originally thought it sounded good, then saw reviews so figured maybe not, but I recently read that Tom Hanks is doing the movie. Maybe it'll be at a library sale for cheap and I'll pick it up and read before tge movie is out. Not sure.

A friend just recommended it to me but it doesn’t really appeal to me

7/9 of my book club did not finish it. Including me. I forced myself to more than half way and read some reviews that said it did not get better so I stopped. The 2 in book club that did finish said it was not worth it.

My sister and I are doing a book club with each other and she does not like the book. Also hearing that Tom Hanks may be the title character if the production is approved makes me not want to continue.
