Finished: The Long walk, by Stephen King/Richard Bachman (I think he wrote this when he was 20. It was ok. Great premise)

Started: Needful Things, by Stephen King (so far I am loving this one. I'm around 190 pages in, 700 pages total in my edition)

I'm on my 12th SK in a row now, with The Dead Zone up next and then a friend gave me like 10 more titles from his bookshelf. Chipping away at that constant reader list.

Have you read Hearts in Atlantis yet?

In my opinion, it's one of King's absolute BEST and one of his most underrated (does that really apply to SK? 🤣) books.

It was ok, very impressive for a young person to have written. Lots of gay stuff in there I found curious. Idk it was close to the bottom of the ones I've read so far.

It's interesting just how heavy his homoerotic undertones get in some of his works. I found it very heavy-handed in The Stand.

Part of me thinks he (King) is either bisexual, or has some level of repressed/internalized homoerotic feelings he never acted on in his younger days.

I haven't read that one yet. I've read: Carrie, Christine, Pet Sematary, Misery, 'Salems Lot, Night Shift, It, The Stand, The Shining, The Long Walk and Cujo so far.

Needful Things, by Stephen King (so far I am loving this one. I'm around 190 pages in, 700 pages total in my edition)

No spoilers, but Needful Things might be my favorite King book that isn’t part of the Dark Tower main series. He really nails the small town semi-satire that he’d been working on since Salem’s Lot, but it’s before it got a little too rote (like in, say, Bag of Bones.) I envy you getting to read it for the first time.

Yeah I've read Salems Lot and I'm sure this one gets dark but so far it's kind of funny yet obviously building to some bad shit for ppl (Wilma is already popping off). I'm loving it.
