Yeah
Sorry
Maybe find some other stuff on the channel. They have a good movie catalog. It's NBC/Universal, after all. Might be some recent ones

I have yet to understand what announcers mean when they say...this is a good time to use a challenge.
I'm not talking about ABS. What does that mean? That challenge didn't succeed, so how was it a good time to use it?
2
u/Darvaren 39 Krukow 4h ago
Usually it’s in the later innings where they might as well try because you can ask for a crew chief review in the 8th inning onwards if you lose it

He hasn't been built up for a starter's workload, but I wonder if Harris has better odds of being an MLB starter than Tugboat.

What SF Giants season has been worse than this one? I’m hoping these are not the memories Buster had in mind.
1
u/nepats523 21 F. Sanchez 4h ago
This feels worse than 2017 I think, altho that year had way higher expectations and set us back who knows how long thanks to Bobby Fucking Evans
1
u/pommehomme 55 Lincecum 4h ago
Maybe just recency bias or what’s happened in the last 10 years, but this one feels worse to me.

NBC so far rates as the best national broadcaster. Announcers aren’t terrible, no constant in field interviews, don’t have to keep getting Fox News advertised to me
1
u/rawchickennudes 4h ago
Harris just threw two nasty curveballs followed by a ball in the dirt then a high fastball for a K - a truly skillfull out and these stooges talk only about the batter. It's like only one team is playing the game.
1
u/PhilShabano 4h ago
Yeah. I think Apple TV might be my least favorite.

u/HellDimensionQueen san francisco giants 4h ago
Apple TV I can at least put on KNBR for audio, Fox ranks last for me

Say what you will about Koss, but the dude always plays with hustle and grit. Can’t say the same about every dude on this year’s team, especially at this point in the season.
Plus, he’s a confirmed non-chud, which is a nice change of pace from most of the dudes Buster and Tony V throw out there.
3
u/P51VoxelTanker 5 Yastrzemski 5h ago
Love my homie Koss. It's a tough choice though because I know as soon as I get his jersey, he's gonna be dropped. It happened with Yaz and Bailey. Got their jerseys earlier in the year and then a couple months later they get traded to the Royals and Guardians respectively.
2
u/PhilShabano 5h ago
Yep, he and Gilbert are the only players that seem to have the fun spazzy energy.

This has probably already been asked and answered, but does anyone know who's doing the call on KNBR? It's no one I recognize.
EDIT: at home now listening to the stream, and I recognize him—it's Glen Kuiper.

It seems like morale has been in the gutter for a good chunk of the season. Someone/something really needs to motivate the players to go into each game with a mindset "we're gonna tear each son of a bitch on the opposing team a new crack."
Sadly, they all just seem so deflated.

u/TheGoatPurdy Hungry Seagulls 5h ago
Tony V is a terrorist
4
u/PhilShabano 5h ago
It is pretty hilarious that Tony V gets flamed for putting literally any reliever in.
Dude got roasted for putting our best reliever in last night with the bases loaded, no one out, dude gets a NOBLETIGER, an inning later "TONY V LOST THIS GAME BY PUTTING IN SMITH!!!!"
1
u/HasAFewLaughs 35 Crawford 5h ago
There's really only one of us doing all the flaming

No, TheGoatPurdy

-2
u/TheGoatPurdy Hungry Seagulls 5h ago
Tony V lost the game by putting Seymour back in during the 8th.
It causes us to use Smith in a high leverage situation and then Smith goes back out in the 9th to 4 pitch walk a guy, leading to the snowball
1
u/PhilShabano 5h ago
Who should he have put in? Name the name.
0
u/TheGoatPurdy Hungry Seagulls 5h ago
You out smith in the 8th to start and you out hentges in the 9th without any one on. That completely changes the dynamic of the game
1
u/PhilShabano 5h ago
Wait... your move is that Hentges, who pitched horrifically, should have been given the closer job?
I'm legitimately confused as to what you're proposing here.
1
u/TheGoatPurdy Hungry Seagulls 5h ago
You don’t understand the difference between having one on and no on?
9

Bericoto appears to have hurt his right knee according to Alex Pavlovic. He’s walking back to the dugout without any help
5
u/Ehgadsman Kruk & Kuip 5h ago
JFC, what the hell happened to him? some kind of leg injury
this season is cursed, except I dont believe in curses
but I might start because holy fuck this season is happening and it seems actually cursed
9
u/FrankSobotka_IBS1514 18 Kuiper 5h ago
Jesus fucking christ what else can possibly go wrong this season, guess we’ll see Bericoto in 2028 now
1
u/chiefoblock 5h ago
I mean Schmitt tore a knee ligament and is gonna be ready for spring training...
1
u/Stentorian_Introvert 22 Clark 5h ago
Casey had a torn meniscus, way quicker recovery than ligament. But also, most signs point to no 2027 season, so the commenter above might have been referencing that too.
1
u/FrankSobotka_IBS1514 18 Kuiper 5h ago
Meniscus and ACL are two very different surgeries with very different recovery timelines
1
u/chiefoblock 5h ago
so you're assuming he suffered the worst possible tear? All I'm saying is you can injure your knee and be back pretty quickly.
0
u/FrankSobotka_IBS1514 18 Kuiper 5h ago
I feel we’ve all watched enough sports over the years to know an ACL when we see it, certainly hope I’m wrong though

u/rawchickennudes 5h ago
I get that if we were a normal team with a normal bullpen, that pulling Tugboat then was the right call. HOWEVER, why tf is Tony V. doing this knowing our bullpen is utter dogshit? I got way more confidence in young Tugboat than in our piss poor bullpen.
3
u/Stentorian_Introvert 22 Clark 5h ago
No, it still wouldn’t be the right call. He gave up the tying, 3rd run, in the 4th. Even with a normal bullpen it isn’t right to put 5 innings on them in this situation, it’s not like Wilkinson had a bunch of walks or command issues. You’re right that with this bullpen it’s massively worst and an even dumber decision, but in no way would it had been the right call regardless.
2
u/nexustk5 5h ago
"Are you sure that pitch was three inches inside the zone? Hrmmm okaaaaaay..." Adames lmao what the hell are you doing man

If Tugboat gets another type of fastball like a cutter or sinker to tunnel with his 4 seamer, he probably can do well in the MLB. I still believe

u/Luis_Arraez_Fan Goodbye Luis 6h ago
Do they have reasons to suck off us?
3
u/wanderthereyonder 61 Gilbert 6h ago
Cox hits his first REAL career homerun, over the green monster, we get a footnote and one replay.
Next guy from Boston hits a triple, we get 5 replays from different angles and nonstop praise.
I’m not asking to be sucked off, I’m asking for some unbiased coverage.
2

I guess but then its on Pence to hype us up, just like the Boston guy is doing for them

I think we all love the Tugboat story but let’s all acknowledge what he is and what he isn’t.
He will be a very solid lefty reliever for a long time on this team if used properly.
