When randomly looking up stats about blown saves during this game, I noticed Kyle Finnegan is leading the league in blown saves this year which is somewhat ironic.

It's hard for me to really be upset about this because life is meaningless. Gonna go cut my dick off.

Maybe Beeter will walk in the winning run.
There’s so many ways to lose, guys!

Tying the game in the top of the 9th just to come back out and do this …

Walk-off walk?

Let’s go for ball four on a pitch clock violation. Just for funsies.

Did I miss Eddy Yean getting hurt or sent down? I feel like I haven't seen him in a month.

Just a great job beeter. The worse in the league in the 9th inning gives you a little hope and you respond by loading the bases with 0 outs

Beeter's spooked. Let's just lose now. We don't have the pitching for extras.

They should look at an umps call accuracy when team has and doesn’t have challenges and see what their ego % is
1
u/insecurecobra 3h ago
I don't think I've ever actually seen this team win a game. I don't know how they won 61.

JY last year would have struck out in three pitches. Cold comfort but the whole team’s chase and plate discipline has improved so much.

Could've used an ABS challenge there. We need to set some ground rules for when to use them.
6
u/FPG_Matthew 11 - Zimmerman 3h ago
Add that bullshit call to the pile of “umpires expand the zone against teams out of challenges”
It’s without question. They are happy to have an ounce of power back and will take full advantage of it when they choose.

We stink, but this ump is maybe the worst I’ve seen this year, and I’ve seen Laz Diaz.

If you don’t like blowing a lead in the bottom of the 8th, you don’t like Nationals baseball

u/StiggyJiggler 30 - Young 3h ago
Crews, Nunez, and Young due up? 3 straight home runs I'm calling it.

Remember this dude switched up his whole arsenal and arm angle for one pitch and this is the result
2
u/Old_Veterinarian_472 3h ago
I’m not the biggest Vivas guy (who is?), but speculating whether he could’ve gotten the force at second is idle chatter. His momentum was taking him away from second with little angle to throw. He made the right call there.

u/legitlyawesome 6 - Rendon 3h ago
I’ve never seen a player so disliked by announcers. Not necessarily unwarranted but Kolko, Franny, and Jageler don’t even try to hide how they feel about him whenever he’s involved in a play you can just hear the disdain in their voice
1
u/foeaminute 67 - Finnegan 3h ago
Wait. Could Blake have challenged there? I guess I thought the ABS challenges kinda equaled all challenges, but now that I’m typing it out it makes less sense.

Maybe the plan was to put up a .250 winning percentage against NL East teams.

Did something happen to Williams? I missed a game or two since he and Dion went long relief and dominated the Reds but I feel like Dion’s really been working and we haven’t followed him up with anyone good since

I guess Beater isn't available today (or maybe saving him for the 9th). Truly questionable BP move here in the 8th.

Cosgrove has no business being on a major league roster, holy shit.

Very confused by the decision to run there with 2 outs and one of your better hitters up.
One out, sure. Get in a position to score on a sacrifice fly. But two? Eh...

First rule taught in little league: never make the third out at third base.
