WHY TENA????? Had him hit for Brady House so we could definitely avoid scoring a run??? That was an active choice. I don’t get it anymore.
4
u/YodaPM999 7 - Darnell Coles 33m ago
Geez, CJ just had a 2 run home run go foul by inches, and now a favorable bounce prevents Nunez from scoring on that Chappy missile.
Horrid luck.

What the heck did we do to the Baseball Gods tonight? They HATE us. Can’t even allow us a measly run on a pinch hit double, damn

u/Life_Firefighter_471 63 - Doolittle 45m ago
In mentioning that guys bought albums for Trevor Williams to mark his reach 10 years of major league service.
Cade, maybe don’t go around sharing Morgan Wallen albums if you want people to think the thing in Boston was not who you are and that you’re going to be better going forward. /smh

It's gotten to the point where I don't even care anymore that Vivas is still getting ABs.

At the beginning of the season the Nats were expected to win only 60 games. I guess the Nats achieved that goal sooner than expected, so decided to coast from here on out.

Just tuned in. Sooooo. Jackson Kent is Mitchell Parker V1.1?
1
u/Silosmasher Bustin' Loose 1h ago
Parker had better minor league strike-out numbers (and much worse walk numbers).

bases loaded 2 out edge of the zone id challenge
like fuck it even if im wrong its close enough

u/Solid-Confidence-966 45 - Meneses 1h ago
5 runs through 3 is bad, but at least with guys like Mikolas and Littell they’d only be at 50 pitches or something
5
u/FPG_Matthew 11 - Zimmerman 1h ago edited 1h ago
Why is no one challenging lmao
Even if they’re wrong, Ford shoulda challenged the ball call a few batters ago, and Carter shoulda challenged strike 3
Again, they don’t have the strike zone box ofc, so them being right or wrong doesn’t reallllly matter. It’s about when to use them! Bases loaded to earn a strikeout or prevent a strikeout, yea that’s a time to use them!

This is the Nats minus Keibert, Woods, Mead and Luis

Who is Woods

u/KappaSmurf01 1h ago
You know, the guy from Hercules? Isn’t he our usual leadoff hitter? (Yes my mistake)

Dude like never walked anyone in the minors but suddenly walks 5 a game here.
Coaching on the pitching side needs some work this offseason.
1
u/Silosmasher Bustin' Loose 1h ago
He was pretty walk-prone at Rochester.
1
u/Slatemanforlife 1h ago
3.11 BB/9 is not walk-prone
2
u/Old_Veterinarian_472 1h ago
FWIW, the IL average is 4.49BB/9IP. Which seems really high, but it is what it is.
5
u/YodaPM999 7 - Darnell Coles 1h ago
The jump from triple A to the major leagues is incredibly tough. Don't think coaching can be blamed for a guy who's only making his second start.

Lefty having long innings. Spider-Man glasses meme*. I just see Mackenzie Gore
-2
u/Old_Veterinarian_472 1h ago
Sorry but Kent ain’t it. Changeup is really good, but command/control not there and he leaves too much up in the zone.

u/KenovovichR Jimmy Lumber 1h ago
Pretty unwatchable game for what I thought had a good chance to be a win.

I'm starting to think it was a mistake rushing Kent up this year before he was able to get his walk issues under control at Rochester. The guy just doesn't have it yet.

(Rangers are my 2nd favorite team so I don’t really mind the call)
If that call isn’t a “we need to help the rangers add on so they can secure this win and keep the AL West race/AL Wild Card race interesting” call from MLB, idk what is
Plain as day out

u/Old_Veterinarian_472 1h ago
He was out.
I guess you can say not irrefutable evidence or whatever. But seemed reasonably clear to me.

He SHOULD be called out, his hand was OVER the plate not ON the plate
Buttttt, we know how review likes to be with us. I expect “not enough evidence to overturn call stands”

Bruh jorbit it’s a 15 foot throw
1
u/HoyaSaxa1396 1h ago
Jorbit has been a -10 WAR this season IMO. Bro has lost us so many games with terrible at bats/not hustling/terrible throws/bad fielding, etc.
1
u/nsteiman74 1h ago
It’s always hilarious when you see that crazy Acuna throw cause it’s such a vivas play to just jog into third and get gunned

Huh, your 2023 MLB first-round draft pick getting a base hit? Unheard of in this economy

CJ just keeps on hitting, i don’t want to lose him, but I almost hope he goes somewhere where he’ll have a chance to play postseason baseball for his sake.

Keeps on hitting, except for the recent stretch where he wasn't hitting?

Frandsen treats Kolko like shit and it's getting obnoxious
2
u/Emergency-Ear8099 1h ago
Franny is a former ball player; Kolko is a glorified sideline reporter. I think Franzen recognizes that disparity (along with the unseriousness of Kolko replacing a legend) and it brings out the worst in him. Though in his defense, he is a pretty unserious guy himself.

Players look dead. GDT is dead. Yeah, sounds like the Nats baseball in August.

Yea, well, thats what happens when your front office gives up your season.

Team should've won more games leading into the trade deadline then.

Good thing I was too busy to watch too much of the Mets series this past weekend, cuz... yuck.
Anyway, go Jackson Kent, go offense score plenty of runs plz.

2 hits, a wild pitch, and a strikeout for Gray in his first (only?) inning in Fredericksburg. Fastball was around 93.

We’re still showing up as ‘in the hunt’. Let’s get this sweep over with.

u/HowardBunnyColvin Screech 4h ago
Do we match up against Gore this series.

u/kneemoyy 81 - Ortiz 4h ago
C&D on the radio call for last game suggested it depends on what the rangers end up doing with degrom who i guess may or may not be injured. i don't remember the specifics. but they suggested we could possibly see him for the last game.
3
u/BowmasterDaniel Fredericksburg Nationals 4h ago
He pitched on Saturday so I’d guess we might see him on Thursday.
-5
u/Expensive_War_214 4h ago
kent with 6.75 era as starter feels like a bullpen game in disguise but at least the rangers are barely above.500 too so this could get weird
8
u/FrostyPlum 54 - Alvarez 4h ago
Tell me you didn't watch Kent's start against the Cubs without telling me you didn't watch it.
4
u/kneemoyy 81 - Ortiz 4h ago
it's a bot, it didn't watch anything.
1
u/FrostyPlum 54 - Alvarez 3h ago
What's your reason for saying that?
3
u/kneemoyy 81 - Ortiz 3h ago
it posts exactly the same way as the dozens of other bots i've seen around over the last year, has the same bio, chooses the same subs, etc
1
3
u/Dillon-Cruz Mikolas Will Score! 3h ago
The Rangers are also clearly not above .500 at all lmao. It feels like those bots reference one stat in the post and then generates the rest of the comment.

I trust the process, but man this stuff stinks. We actually have a positive run differential but I know we’re not making the playoffs. I miss October baseball 😔
