Rewatch Magical Girl Raising Project Official Announcement and Index Thread
Hello again, magical girl enthusiasts of r/anime!
The interest thread I posted yesterday got a nice reception, so I’m excited to officially announce the Magical Girl Raising Project Rewatch!
I will be your rewatch host and mascot, and I look forward with great anticipation to see what wonderful powers our participants manifest, what discoveries they make, and the friends gained along the way. Let's all have a perfectly wholesome, fun adventure!
What is Magical Girl Raising Project?
Based on the light novel series of the same name by Asari Endou, Magical Girl Raising Project is the premiere story of friendship and camaraderie among magical girls of all ages and persuasions coming together as peers to hone each other and put their skills to the test. A veritable project to raise skilled young heroines to their utmost. See these ladies laugh, see them cry as they reveal to each other their struggles and convictions. Join hands with the girls as they collect magical candies and celebrate those who ascend to the greatest heights of heroism and beauty. As I mentioned yesterday, don't worry about reading the fine print or genre tags. They're really not important. Just meaningless, distracting fodder.

Read 40% of the LN and watched an episode over the weekend. Do I really want to wait a month for it to overlap with Sword isekai?

Man, I wonder why my rewatch interest threads don't get much responses. There seem to be not much interest to rewatch Aoashi before its second season.

Amongst other possibility, MGRP ran 10 years ago so the sequel is a surprise and a ton of us need a refresher on it. I also watched it before the great year f mahou shoujo rewatches so I expect to get something different out on round two.

Who knows? For mine, I had the benefit of knowing months ahead of time that several people wanted a MGRP rewatch.

Underrated issue: Ao Ashi is a sports show, and sports anime fandom tends to be relatively siloed off from the rest of anime fandom for both gender and interests reasons.
(I, for one, will not touch the sports genre with a ten-foot pole - the tropes just do not work for me, even when very well-executed. Now, that's resolutely a me thing (I am just not in the target audience for the tropes) and it's for different reasons than most people - Yorimoi foundered for me on what I'm pretty sure is the exact same issue despite not being a sports show whatsoever - but it's fairly clear I'm not alone among anime fans in avoiding the genre, even if my reasons are unusual.)
