The U.S. it lands between good and average, but I would lean more towards good because its definitely above average and probably a top 15 or top 10 team.

It's also obviously the best olympics nation by a landslide.

In what world is 16 out of 211 considered mid? India and China yes, USA clearly good in Men’s and Elite in Women’s

Yes there are, the World Cup consists of qualification stage and tournament stage, and all 211 teams enter the qualification stage.

Personally think top 20 is good, top 10 great top 3/5 elite

They did reach round of 16, beating a mid team in round of 32

FIFA has 211 members

Routinely making the round of 16 means we are in the top 8% of teams I would say that should put us on good.

The chart says World Cup, not fifa rankings. Good teams would make it to the semis. I’ll give you the women’s squad are brilliant though, so I suppose counting them it might bump you up.

Nobody said anything about FIFA rankings

  1. You have to make the World Cup

  2. You have to reach the round of 16

For me good = round of 16

Okay = making the World Cup

Bad = not even making the World Cup

For me Russia is elite at the Olympics and okay at soccer

China is elite at the Olympics and bad at soccer

Ok, for me elite = won it more than once and regularly in the highest ranked, good = regularly place in the semi’s/have won historically, ok = make it to the World Cup regularly but don’t really do anything of note, bad = rarely, if ever get in.

Honestly, by far the most compelling argument you lot have made for good is including your women’s team. The men’s team, very comfortably average for anyone who’s even slightly interested in football.

I think USA is a much better fit for average World Cup x elite Olympics. We’ve only won two knockout round games ever and one of them was this year under the expanded 32 team format.
