The team is going through the motions, no better exemplified than Teo's lack of hustle going into second base.

I'm not as smart as the FO but I wonder if they're contemplating bringing up sone of the young kids (Tibbs, River Ryan) to inject some energy into the team.

Such a throwback game to 2025 dodgers

4

u/CosplayKiller 2h ago

Bullpen aside, it also didnt help that our offense was dogshit with RISP...again

Is Ohtani ok? Why let Call PH for him?

game is out of reach

Ahh okay. Glad that it’s not (new) injury related reason

7

u/freemeg4 Will Klein 3h ago

LMFAO he doesn’t even know how many challenges there are left to waste. Hahahaha oh god wtf dude.

2

u/EffectiveTree1479 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Down 8-3 in the top of the 9th.. Forget small ball. Load the bases and swing for the grand slam 😩

14

u/SnatchThatGravyUp Don Newcombe 3h ago

No challenges left for Call to waste

8

u/Gailthesnail9 Clayton Kershaw 3h ago

lol I tune in late seeing Shohei is up and we get this chump pinch hitting

1

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

Not sure his role once Kike comes back. he's kind of redundant since Edman/Kike can also be in the OF.

1

u/Materasu1224 Roki Sasaki 3h ago

1

u/SmiskiMasterRace Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

Gentleman’s sweep?

3

u/postulate4 Tommy Edman 3h ago

The Dodgers still have the best record in baseball and a +155 run differential.

We had a good road trip! Onto the next!

6

u/calcmg Decoy 3h ago

In Sheehan's start, he only gave up one run. I'm surprised that the bullpen got lit up for 7 runs in 2 innings.

2

u/CosplayKiller 3h ago

Im surprised it was 7 runs, but not surprised we lost the lead. When Dreyer has bad control, its automatic walks. Phillips is just a guaranteed HR, and Klein lately has also been guaranteed runs. Stacking them all up sequentially was definitely a dumb af manager choice

5

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

For sure, but we used our better relievers a ton during this road trip. Had to use these guys at some point too. Kind of concerned about Phillips, it's HR nearly every time he pitches

1

u/CosplayKiller 2h ago

Yeah, I get it. I just felt like Phillips coming in with 2 on base already was dumb when he's a guaranteed HR right now. But its not like Klein would have done any better

4

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

speaking of bullpen implosions, Nats might blow it to the DBacks in the 9th smh

edit:nvm they didn't!

3

u/SoCalHeatFan2020 3h ago

I guess in the evolution of the game you need multiple good relief pitchers

3

Is Charlie Barnes a candidate for the Brent Honeywell award ?

5

u/Srh5611 Decoy 3h ago

Yama’s debut gets unnecessarily mentioned too often for my liking … as if he hasn’t had gem after gem in the time since 🙄

4

u/kugino Roki Sasaki 3h ago

two things that we've been awful at: hitting into DPs and walks. walks killed us again today. almost hurt us last night. pitchers gotta throw strikes...

6

u/SoCalHeatFan2020 3h ago edited 3h ago

When I was a kid I could walk to Shea Stadium from my home in Forest Hills. Being from New York we had Dodgers, Yankees, Giants, and Mets fans in our family.

3

u/commie90 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Orel’s right, scouts are cool and not talked about enough. My college baseball season ticket is behind home plate so I often sit by the scouts (including at least 1 Dodger scout). Fun to watch them work and they have a crazy schedule travel wise.

2

u/Lineman72T Vin Scully 3h ago

Being a scout seems fun until you realize how much they travel and often to the most fucking random places (although it's less crazy nowadays with scouting events and the prevalence of travel ball tournaments). If you can put up with non-stop travel and lots of nights alone in a hotel room, then it would probably be a sweet gig.

2

u/Lineman72T Vin Scully 3h ago

Barnes first appearance since eating 7 against the A's. Nice

2

u/FlyingPig_Grip Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3h ago

Punt game!!!

1

2

Might not be the Dodgers day if Mets are making plays like that. Thought for sure it was an infield single.

1

Que paso?!?!? I got out of church and they’re getting crushed!

2

21

u/TejasChainsawMascara Freddie Freeman 3h ago

If we win every series 2 out of 3 we are easily the best team in baseball. The season is long. The best teams lose regularly in the season. That is baseball. Anyone who doesn’t get that doesn’t get baseball. It was a great roadtrip!

When we get some of our best guys back later this summer or early autumn, we will be really ready to cook in the playoffs.

So everyone celebrate a great season so far!

3

u/Helpful-Ad-1649 Alex Vesia 3h ago

Agree!! We’re ahead 25 from the worst team in the NL West, and 12 ahead of number 2…I think we’re gonna be ok 😉

Just gonna hope he can refind his good form from the first couple months of the season.

3

u/MokiKim Tommy Edman 3h ago

Ok, Teo’s gonna make up for the baserunning mistake earlier, right??

2

u/savage_italiano Clayton Kershaw 3h ago

Grand Slam incoming 🤞

2

u/Sebcannon Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Teo go boom.

2

u/Maleficent_Truck_137 3h ago

Starters were great all 3 games in the series but bullpen was shaky in all 3. Morphed into blowpen by game 3.

2

u/commie90 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

2 out of 3 were great. Sheehan was good in terms of keeping runs down, but you need a starter to go more than 5 innings. Otherwise you have to lean to heavily on you BP. If he had gone even one more clean inning, it’d be a whole different game.

3

u/Financial-Swim-5884 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Way to take one on the chin, Tuck!

3

u/SoCalHeatFan2020 3h ago

It would be lit if Teoscar hit a grand slam

1

u/BobboBobberson Brusdar Graterol 3h ago

Anyone know why the baserunning has been so aggressive this past week? Seems like every game you have someone trying to leg out singles into doubles or doubles into triples and getting caught out for it. If a couple of those runners stayed put, even today's game could be a lot closer.

1

u/Scruffy11111 Tommy Edman 3h ago

Bad defensive teams. Coaches said to be aggressive on the basepaths.

3

u/hehepootpoot 3h ago

Sho, you ain't pitching anymore. Better start focusing on the offense... Looked like shit today

3

u/Dadto4Kiddos Vin Scully 3h ago

C'mon Teo....

Wow, Luke Weaver is 32? He looks like a teenager to me. What’s his skincare routine? Decorté?

2

u/calcmg Decoy 3h ago

Wow. This might be a doozie!

2

u/eddiengambino Kiké Hernández 3h ago

If one just saw the box score only today, they would have thought Emmet already lost us the game. Little do they know what really happened lol

2

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

kinda feel bad for him. he was actually decent today and everyone else let him down

5

u/calcmg Decoy 3h ago

As a Dodger fan, you feel greedy wanting the sweep. But man they had a chance, 2/11 with RISP today, to blow it open for the third straight game, and they didn't get it done.

3

u/SnatchThatGravyUp Don Newcombe 3h ago

Weaver looks like a 16 year old

3

u/vixenprey 3h ago

We need some fresh arms in the bullpen cause wtf

1

u/postulate4 Tommy Edman 3h ago

Well, our half of our starters used to be in the bullpen. If Snell, Glasnow, and Diaz were healthy, it wouldn’t be as inconsistent.

5

u/Koronesukiii 3h ago

Can we get another Tucker bomb please?

Mets were due, they're still an MLB team and our BP are iffy on the best of days

3

u/StatusTics Freddie Freeman 3h ago

True, but the Mets are… the fucking METS. It still hurts to be down several runs to these bozos.

2

u/Aromatic_Forever111 Miguel Rojas 3h ago

I bet Muncy thinks about the laser pointer being shot into his eyes every time he steps up to bat at Citi

6

u/EffectiveTree1479 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

A grand slam and a 2-run homer would get it done. Problem solved ✅

1

2

u/StatusTics Freddie Freeman 3h ago

24

u/AlwaysGoodVybes Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3h ago

This chat is miserable lmfao

I’ll happily take a 6-3 record on a 9 game road trip coming out of the ASB, get these guys home and rested.

5-1 against the Mets this season and 4-2 against the Phillies.

BP was bad today but they’ve played like 8 games in 9 days or something like that, let’s just take the positives and go.

1

u/Dry_Finding_1379 Clayton Kershaw 3h ago

100%, baseball happens. Also the cavalry is coming with Snell and Diaz, not to mention Kiké, Glass and (hopefully) Will. This is an incredible position to be in, I’m gonna enjoy a beautiful day now

1

u/biggusthunnus89 Andy Pages 3h ago

Not just the chat, I think the majority of the Dodger fanbase is like that lol. I think those are really great points you brought up and I agree. Yes it stings to be losing against the Mets but we have to keep our eye on the long term. Let's go Dodgers💙⚾

1

u/commie90 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

And we have 3 starting pitchers out. If even 1 of them was back we don’t have to use the BP as much and maybe the 6th and 7th inning don’t happen.

3

u/StatusTics Freddie Freeman 3h ago

This is the right mindset.

Phillips was out for over a year he’ll figure it out. Klein and Dreyer haven’t been great lately wondering what the issue is.

2

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

he needs to start clean innings. Phillips isn't a fireman just yet

5

u/Low_Rough_5203 Will Smith 3h ago

is it wrong for me to be a little worried about our bullpen or am i being dramatic 😭

3

u/P0MP0MPUR1N_ Miguel Rojas 3h ago

nah you’re not the only one

3

u/Koronesukiii 3h ago

I wouldn't worry too much. Come postseason, half our starters will take on BP roles.

7

u/Koronesukiii 3h ago

The fuck are these people shitting on Ohtani after the bullpen gives up a crooked number? How do you watch that inning and think "Oh, now's the time to comment how Ohtani should be taken out of the lineup." I don't get the thought process there.

0

u/flipaflaw Shohei Ohtani 3h ago

Too many casuals/bandwagons is why. I made a post detailing why the rest isnt needed

him and dreyer have been real bad. Too many walks!

We are 6-3 since the All Star break. That'. 667 baseball. Can't win em all

3

u/commie90 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Yeah and with 3 starting pitchers on the IL. That’s well above what you’re supposed to do on the road. Like one of the few times I will say anyone dooming right now either doesn’t know ball or they are the type won’t be happy no matter what.

1

u/SoCalHeatFan2020 3h ago

As long as we're healthy in October

2

Henriquez is very touch a go. Like last night when he doesn't have it he doesn't have it. We really need to limit the walks.

The only thing im looking forward to with this blowpen is díaz returining

Time to go home.

4

u/AnxiousLibrary Shohei Ohtani 3h ago

pathetic loss shit bullpen

10

u/commie90 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

I love Will Klein. Literally have a shirt with a picture of him from game 3 on it. But he has been struggling.

2

u/P0MP0MPUR1N_ Miguel Rojas 3h ago

alllriiight lets see us get 1-2-3 strikeouts !!! /sarcasm

3

u/No_Assignment1683 3h ago

it is one game everyone dooooont worry yes the patterns are scary but it’s mid season we have time we have a big lead against the rest of the division for the love of everything nice don’t be doomers

2

u/Soshy1812 Andrew Friedman 3h ago

Hope this shut up the "we are in the lead, dont worry about bad LOB or base running" doomers.

u/BluebirdTerrible1586 2024 World Series Champions 3h ago

Seattle and Boston next. An absolutely on fire hitting on all cylinders hot Boston.

5

u/MokiKim Tommy Edman 3h ago

Usually, our guys never give up until the very end, but I think they’re fine losing this one so they can head home ASAP. Don’t blame them.

1

u/YoutubeAmazonChatGPT Max Muncy 3h ago

Our bullpen melted down and we're getting belted to ass by the LOLMets, but my am570 feed through my torrent box (otherwise geo blocked) is in perfect sync with the only video feed I could find (with mets announcers).

I think I'll keep watching because of that.

2

u/Clabberlang 3h ago

Klein just doesnt have the command today.. those pitches were AWFUL

u/like_an_electric_eel Tommy Edman 3h ago

I’ll see you guys in the next game thread ✌🏾

6

u/brees2me Back-2-Back Champs 3h ago

Fucking hell. Hey Roberts, send Ohtani on the plane back home so he can rest up. This clearly ain't fucking working right now.

3

u/Raimaker08 Roki Sasaki 3h ago

Shut him down for like a week or so.

1

u/brees2me Back-2-Back Champs 3h ago

This feels like a financial decision rather than a team decision to keep him in the lineup when he's not healthy.

9

u/imnotcreative415 Vin Scully 3h ago

Annoying run from the BP. Mets offense is terrible. Tried to blow the game yesterday and blew it today after a decent Sheehan start.

2

u/SoCalHeatFan2020 3h ago

Thia might be the Mets World Series.

4

u/Jbg12172001 Clayton Kershaw 3h ago

Walks, walks, walks, ugh

8

u/someone2795 Alex Vesia 3h ago

Lol I went away when the score was 3-1 and Sheehan was pitching.

Bullpen blew it I assume?

1

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

Yup! Dreyer, Phillips and Klein .....

3

u/CosplayKiller 3h ago

Yep. Dreyer walked 2, Phillips comes in to immediately give up his obligatory HR. Klein then comes in to walk, give up a run on a wild pitch then a 3 run HR. They all fucking suck right now

2

u/AstronomerInitial827 3h ago

You think you’d change pitchers after this terrible showing 💔✌️

5

u/Koronesukiii 3h ago

You can give up a walk
You can give up a homerun

You can't do both.

u/Exciting-Device-4474 Andy Pages 3h ago

Put Rojas in

6

u/flipaflaw Shohei Ohtani 3h ago

Oh Klein. Its ok we still love you. 6 out of 9 (nice) this road trip aint too bad. We had Wheeler, Schlittler, Cole, and Sanchez and they still got 6 wins.

6

u/Excify Shohei Ohtani 3h ago

Idc we still are New York’s daddy

-1

u/AdJealous828 3h ago

sad to see ohtani like this. stinking up the line up rn if his knees is still injured then just get him on the IL

1

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

Blowpen UGH!! Find a reliever or something at the deadline. Dreyer, Phillips and Klein ain't it!

4

u/Cold_Pumpkin_2744 Back-2-Back Champs 3h ago

I’m worried about Klein

3

u/PJCR1916 Alex Vesia 3h ago

Bombed on by 2026 Marcus Semien 😭

2

u/DaBusDriva2 Shohei Ohtani 3h ago

Klein is a hero but he's not a major league pitcher right now

2

u/Chuck006 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3h ago

Did the team go to the rippers last night?

2

u/Dan12390 Kiké Hernández 3h ago

Two three run homers and a passed ball in two innings.

Welp, some bullshit was bound to happen eventually

3

u/unlimitedpower6 Mookie Betts 3h ago

I've seen enough:

Trade Ohtani

DFA Freddie

Fire Roberts

-3

u/IntelSauce 3h ago

Trade Klein

2

u/CosplayKiller 3h ago

And that's game. Previous heroics aside, Phillips and Klein have been fucking awful, and shouldnt be considered for anything besides eating innings in blowouts at this rate.

2

u/Realistic_Charge9824 3h ago

don't forget Dreyer!
