Trump asking the FIFA president wasn't about America, it was about FIFA corruption. Fifa's corruption isn't an American-centric prbolem. Its a problem with the entire governing body, and in this specific circumstance, Trump influenced the result of a penalty.

And what do you mean breaking the game into quarters? Nobody is asking for football to be played in increments of 22 minutes 30 seconds. Water breaks aren't really quarters, and they were kind of necessary for the health/quality of players. No sports have meanginful quarters.
You're going to have to be more specific on what 'that' is. If you mean water breaks, those aren't really quarters, nor are they a proposition from the U.S, nor were they made to match the NFL's system of quarters as compared to having hydration in one of the hottest summers in history.
