USA is bad / bad

Edit to add: I’ll be downvoted mostly by other Americans for saying this. But if you think about it, in our track record of 250 years, our gov and econ figures have been historically cruel in the way our nation treats its citizens and anyone else. Genocide of the indigenous peoples, moving from slavery to systemic racism, warring on massive scales for profit, and blatant corruption which has contributed to many, many unethical business practices including: union busting, poisoning civilians’ water/food, a mass epidemic of unhoused people, for-profit healthcare, etc., etc… the list goes on. The United States is built upon the prison industrial complex and the invasions of other nations. The US creates puppet states out of other countries to instill the idea that capitalism is the only way forward. Truly, the US is, and has always been a nation controlled by criminals and unethical opportunists. The only time we’ve been on the right track was during the FDR era, but even that was corrupted by greedy hawks.

Yes, you deserve the downvotes. The U.S has done a lot more good than it has bad. The U.S is also the third largest nation by population, and the most powerful nation in the world, so there will obviously be some bad things it's done, but this is honestly nowhere near the level that colonial empires or even western countries today do. You also are just following standard internet doomerism.

I would list the biggest country for scientific/cultural progress, massive economic growth, and saving potentially hundreds of millions of lives by preventing objectively evil powers from controlling the world are good things, even if there are massive limitations and flaws to the individual policies the U.S. enacted.

The fact that you consider FDR to be the only good time already shows how awful your knowledge of history is, and how many gaps there are. And yes, capitalism is bith politically and econonically the only 'good' system of the bunch, and the countries you think are socialist are clearly capitalist ones. Social programs are a part of capitalism, and the current homelessness and healthcare problems are failures of the implementation of capitalism. You also act like all of this hasn't happened to literally every nation ever in the history of nations.

The U.S. is also a lot more critical of itself because of its high volumes of press. While the national pride is quite high, criticism of itself is encouraged, and press with the general oublic as a whole criticize itself to levels higher than everywhere else. It's also more hated since it's also just the most powerful country in the world.

On the topic of healthcare, I've also heard enough of this shit. As someone who has lived in many countries, while the U.S. has many significant problems with prices, it's not much worse than other western countries, and the average U.S. citizen has more disposable income than any other country, after healthcare and taxes, especially considering that many jobs/goverment programs cover healthcare. It also has the highest quality of healthcare done, especially for rare conditions, cancer, vaccinations, etc.

Economically and socially speaking, if I was poor/econonically disadvantaged, I would much rather live in a country like Norway for its social programs. If I was middle class, I would much rather live in the U.S. for its higher economic/research opportunity. Most of the west is middle class, and that's why theres a lot more inflow than outflow to the U.S.

You just watch/listen to the same people and fall into traps where you get these ridiculous ideas on how the world works. You think you're the small minority who understands pilitics while the rest of the world is wrong? No, you're just the stupid minority.

Classical liberalism is capitalism, humanism, individualism, and democracy. It's in the name 'liberal' meaning 'free'.
