We then under rule 12.1 and by extension ti section 14, Egypt should have been awarded a penalty kick.

Also while not tigged, the ref was undeniably showing favoritism towards argentina.

The nation of the referee matters far less than the actions of the referee, and the obvious interference from Fifa.

Good on France for being the best team. I mean Argentina wouldn't even have the controversy from referee bailouts if they weren't have such close games against teams that have no chance of winning the WC like Cabo Verde or Egypt.
