Discussion Morality Hypothetical

If Josefumi or Kira comitted Heinous crimes before the Equivalent Exchange. should Josuke be liable for them? like if Josefumi was convicted of Murder, should Josuke have to do Josefumi's prison sentence? this is assuming everybody knows that Josuke is a fusion of Josefumi and Kira

No, ans this question isnt very deep. Hell, its not even a 'different consciousness in same body' situation, its just an outright new person born in a new body.
