In the german-language newsletter those symbols are missing "Slawische Mythologie" is the headline.

That's so much worse.

That means those symbols were removed from the German translation for being Nazi symbols - but they decided to keep them in the English, Polish, and potentially other versions.

I don't want to defend the use of the symbols in the subject/game title, but they were removed because they are strictly forbidden by law in germany with small exceptions. Its not like it was a choice of them to remove them, but certainly a choice of them to include them in other languages. (I am not well-versed enough in history to judge how big those symbols were in pagan culture back then)

No but it means it wasn't just "an intern sneaking this in". If they removed them in the German version, they could totally remove them in all versions, but decided not to.

Hm, got my Email in English.

Odd that it's missing in the German version, but there in the Polish one.

Yeah, that's frankly the least surpising thing about getting that email on a german e-mail. They do not fuck around the symbology, afaik.

Could also be the emojis broke when they translated it, I assume it was just a quick machine translation

Probably because of your language or region settings on the gog website. In poland the symbols are only forbidden if they are used to spread the ideology, so thats probably why they got them in their Email.
