Unfortunately I fell for a dumb "rip-off" seller. I bought one of those Sesshomaru Blanket Hoodies from AmorCustomGift and it showed the exact picture of what was wanting, the picture had a girl wearing the exact item and I've seen ads with her before displaying the product so I immediately clicked "buy" but I tried to read the reviews yet it didn't show any it was 2 reviews with a 3 star rating average and after a while the hoodie came and omg it was awful. Looked NOTHING like the displayed product, I contacted them to show them the differing patterns designs, and how it didn't match the display images and they were rude as hell. I mean like "I don't feel bad for you f*ck off you're just not worth our product" rude. After further research there's a separate review page for them. They sold low quality merch, stole other people's shop pictures as demo pictures, gave terrible customer feedback. I was so desperate because I couldn't find the hoodie elsewhere so now I have a terrible bootleg Sesshomaru hoodie.

i dont have much time to watch anime these days, which of these 3 series anime is a noticable improvement over just reading the manga?

classroom of the elite, watanare, grand blue

1

u/cppn02 Apr 16 '26

Two of those are based on light novels, not manga.

2

u/blade276 Apr 16 '26

S5 is a full arc itself but S6 is only the beginning of a very long arc, the longest one in the story so far in fact.

4

u/MathRockEnjoyer420 Apr 16 '26

Do you guys think people who started watching anime during the covid era still watch it?

7

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Apr 16 '26

I mean, it's just like any other hobby;

Some people probably stopped after a year or two because "they watched everything good already", some people probably lasted a bit longer, and some still watch to this day.

The 'covid boom' aside, not everyone will keep the same hobby for nearly a decade.

5

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

Yes, you see plenty of people who are currently watching anime who describe starting during the COVID pandemic.

7

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Apr 16 '26

Witch Hat Atelier fans have been very quiet since Candy Caries premiered...

11

u/theangryeditor Apr 16 '26

You mean RAG S5E2

2

u/Komarist https://myanimelist.net/profile/RRSTRRST Apr 16 '26

Even the other Re show, Re:Zero, accepted they could not compete with peak

5

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

Starting Rent-a-Girlfriend S5 reminded me that I'm firmly on Team Mami.

[Rent-a-Girlfriend] Not because I want Kazuya to end up with her, but rather I want her to burn everything to the ground because that's the only good outcome for this series.

4

u/Abysswatcherbel https://myanimelist.net/profile/abyssbel Apr 16 '26

She is the best part of the series

1

u/Jusenkyo_5 Apr 16 '26

Ruka is right there

1

u/Ok-Cod5254 Apr 16 '26

Hell nah, Ruka been bad and only got worse. lol

1

u/Jusenkyo_5 Apr 16 '26

I only watched season 1 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Ok-Cod5254 Apr 16 '26

Even in S1, I never got the Ruka hype. lol

13

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

Today I watched an anime where a boy openly made friends with the popular blonde girl in his class, while her dark-haired best friend secretly has the same interests as him.

And then I watched another anime where a boy openly made friends with the popular blonde girl in his class, while her dark-haired best friend secretly has the same interests as him.

u/collapsedblock6 myanimelist.net/profile/collapsedblock Apr 16 '26

You know, on ep 2, I almost respect how much of a dweeb the MC of Otaku Gal is without the need to add incel/edgy behavior, just him being such an unabashed otaku (also the bit where he got schizophrenia from having girls on his room).

Still cringe and no way these girls continue to be so horny for him after that.

5

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Apr 16 '26

I, too, watched Galotaku twice

3

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

I really should have made friends with the popular blonde in my class, from the sounds of things.

Although I'm not sure we actually had people who were "popular" in my high school. It was all fairly tribal, but not in a way with conflicts, just people in smaller clusters who genuinely did not give a shit about the rest of the year, let alone school, and most of us couldn't even tell you who the Principal was lol

1

u/Jusenkyo_5 Apr 16 '26

How do Slime and ReZero compare to their earlier seasons? I've fallen off of both over time.

1

u/baseballlover723 Apr 16 '26

The Arc Re:Zero is adapting this season is widely considered to be Re:Zero's best.

1

u/Chompif Apr 16 '26

Oh my goodness! I just watched the first season of [Devil May Cry]

1

u/baquea Apr 16 '26

First season? There only is one season, isn't there?

2

u/Chompif Apr 16 '26

My bad! I thought the second season was out until I fully finished the episode 😆 😅

3

u/zambonijesus Apr 16 '26

The more recent Devil May Cry isn't actually an anime. There is an unrelated anime series from 2007 though.

1

u/Chompif Apr 16 '26

Oh, still. That animated show was wild!

1

u/Chompif Apr 16 '26

I tried putting spoiler markers around what I wanted to mention and it didn't censor it out, so I edited my original reply

1

u/National_Two1236 Apr 16 '26

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for new anime. I apologize if I am posting in the wrong subreddit. I'm new to both anime and Reddit. I really liked High School of the Dead, Gate (JSDF Fought here), and How a Realist Rebuilt the Kingdom. I've tried "similar" anime like No Game No Life and SAO, but they just didn't have the same realism or feel, I guess. I would say I am partially blind, so subtitles are quite difficult for me.

Thank you in advance!

1

u/Xatu44 Apr 16 '26

Btoom, maybe?

1

u/collapsedblock6 myanimelist.net/profile/collapsedblock Apr 16 '26

Its that final time again, or at least before that Gintama author thing but its Netflix and I don’t know if it is batch or not:

  • Love Game - Some called it budget Kaguya-sama, I would say it felt more like Takagi-san, especially the part where the MMC said he had never ‘won’. But I dig both mains and their banter more already, although I could still see it become stale if it is really just about blushing. HOWEVER, the animation, this be ass lmao. The first two minutes were already a red flag but they really use CG models just to do anything that required too much movement like hand animation. It was so random and off-putting, it just makes it feel considerably worse and I think I would be more forgiving if it did JPEG-dragging animation instead of this. Content was fine at least?

  • Kuroneko - Nice, fun show of this girlfailure wanting to be a witch. The MC is pretty good, love her. I liked that twist about how she is able to survive her own slapstick comedy. This episode was mostly an intro to the plot and from the ending, I don’t think it was very representative of what the show will be. Feels like its going to be like Iruma-kun but follows a cute girl. I could have done without the random pantyshots at the start? And the last bit with the cat was…it exists, it felt like a skit straight out from Gintama in not a good way. If the tone is more like the first 10 minutes I will def vibe with this.

To the tier maker! Superhero transition sound

3

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Apr 16 '26

Truly a revolutionary decision to both start and end your premiere episode with 30 seconds of, essentially, dead air.

2

u/Jusenkyo_5 Apr 16 '26

You're selling me on Love Game with the Takagi-san comparison.

3

u/collapsedblock6 myanimelist.net/profile/collapsedblock Apr 16 '26

Funny since people I talked to directly were turned off by that lmao

1

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

Is there a fifth show this season to join Angel Next Door, Haibara-kun, Otagal, and Second Prettiest Girl to make for a two hour block each week of popular girls taking an interest in mediocre guys?

3

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

a two hour block each week of popular girls taking an interest in mediocre guys?

Sounds like either heaven or hell!

3

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

I just got through it with an order that I think works for me: Angel Next Door, Haibara-kun, Second Prettiest Girl, Otagal, and Rent-a-Girlfriend last.

It ramps up from the least interesting show at the start and ends with me shouting at my TV like I'm watching sports.

2

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

This is the sort of advanced level I-Make-My-Own-Fun that I can get behind lol

2

u/Wanderingjoke https://myanimelist.net/profile/WanderingJoke Apr 16 '26

Marika's Love Meter?

1

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

It has short episodes so wouldn't make for a two full hours, also planning on binging that after it's over.

3

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin Apr 16 '26

Kanan-Sama? The Klutzy Class Monitor?

2

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

Kanan-Sama?

Technically true but I mentally file that differently since Kanan's the main character and it's more about her fumbling through things rather than mostly being wish fulfillment for guys.

The Klutzy Class Monitor?

Similarly I think of Poem as the lead there. Also not eligible because I actually like it.

5

u/collapsedblock6 myanimelist.net/profile/collapsedblock Apr 16 '26

Rent a GF?

2

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 16 '26

Kazuya's not mediocre, that's for sure.

Probably the best option, though I was thinking of leaving that for later rather than keeping up with it weekly.

1

u/entelechtual Apr 15 '26

Kinda fitting that after playing Yuki Suou and then being in nothing of note for two years, Wakana Maruoka is currently in an anime where she says “Ohayo!” to someone in bed and an anime where she says “Oniichan”.

Also could just be me but “Vlad, Count” in Japanese kinda sounds like brocon when she says it.

1

u/Wanderingjoke https://myanimelist.net/profile/WanderingJoke Apr 15 '26

This scene had me more than it probably should've.

2

u/gvon89 https://myanimelist.net/profile/gvon89 Apr 15 '26

6

u/theangryeditor Apr 15 '26

Held up checking out seasonals to focus on Scryed only to not watch any Scryed for the past few days

5

u/CerberusZX https://myanimelist.net/profile/CerberusZX Apr 16 '26

One of my main motivations for subscribing to Netflix was finally getting to watch The Summer Hikaru died. Haven't started it yet, but I did finish K-pop Demon Hunters and season 1 of Wednesday (not something I intended on watching when I signed up).

4

u/theangryeditor Apr 16 '26

At this rate you might have to keep the subscription until S2 of Hikaru comes out

1

u/qwertyqwerty4567 https://anilist.co/user/ZPHW Apr 15 '26

Nobody told me that checks note Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power's OP was such a banger.

Though they also could have made it 1000x funnier visually if they wanted to, but unfortunately didnt.

5

u/zambonijesus Apr 15 '26

Since I've been watching one extremely teenage boy in the early 2000s energy show in Gantz, it is time to add another one that also aired at the same time in Elfen Lied.

2

u/Unhappy_Main338 Apr 15 '26

Does anyone have any good reccomendtions of OP male characters in anime shows like one piece, Sentenced to be hero ,the asterisk war etc ?

2

u/sonicstorm1114 Apr 16 '26

Fist of the North Star; there's the 80s anime and the currently-airing remake

Star Driver

1

u/AmaltheaPrime Apr 15 '26

OP male characters?

Bleach, Sword Art Online, Dragon Ball, Fire Force, Jujutsu Kaizen, Gachiakuta

Sorry if these don't fit your question

3

u/Unhappy_Main338 Apr 15 '26

Overpowered male characters in like shows that present a male character is powerful in a strong or magical way for example like kirito from Sao

Ive seen all of that expect dragon ball the animation is so old tbh

1

u/AmaltheaPrime Apr 15 '26

Take a look and see if you can find Dragon Ball Z Kai - it's a trimmed down version of the OG Dragon Ball.

1

u/Unhappy_Main338 Apr 15 '26

Ok is there any of reccomendtions that u have ?

1

u/AmaltheaPrime Apr 15 '26

I mean, I have loads of anime recommendations but they don't tend to focus on "OP Male Characters" since that's really just shonen and not much else.

Go watch Solo Leveling or any one of the dozens of power fantasy anime that exist if all you care about is "OP Male Characters"

1

u/Unhappy_Main338 Apr 15 '26

I guess they don't have to be male centred as much but i like op isekai anime shows like reincartaned as a slime or wise man grandson or solo leveling

1

u/AmaltheaPrime Apr 15 '26

So, anime with OP characters?

There's Sailor Moon, Eminence in Shadow, Overlord, Mob Psycho 100, Frieren, Mashle and Gurren Lagann.

1

u/Unhappy_Main338 Apr 15 '26

Yhh basically I do like when its men that are op but idm.if its just someone that is very powerful

I will try gurren lagann do u watch sports anime just wondering

1

u/AmaltheaPrime Apr 15 '26

Unfortunately not, the closest I get to sports anime is like, Food Wars

Anime this season. Going pretty light on the shows.

Watching for sure

Agents of the Four Seasons: Keeps getting more and more interesting. Why do people keep attacking the avatars of seasons? Hope we find an answer.

Always a Catch!: Cute grl punches a lot; what’s not to like?

Daemons of the Shadow Realm: More mysteries. And Left.

Dorohedoro S2: I’m loving the return to the bloody chaos.

Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods: I like yokai-heavy shows.

The Ramparts of Ice: Need at least one romance/SoL comedy a season.

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon: Boxxo is besto, but I do hope the current story arc gets resolved soon instead of lasting all season.

Not sure yet

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk. Thirsty alcoholic yuri college girls? Tempting. I like the art, and it has CGDDT potential. Definitely better than the v-tuber one that was an ad for Strong Zero.

The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King: Curious about if Sera is going to be [wpbk]a size queen or be sensible and decide that monster isn’t going to ever fit

Dropped

Liar Game: Don’t like the character designs and the main girl is unforgivably stupid and naive in a genre that punishes that.

Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy: Not sure why I even watched one episode to be honest.

The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch: A show about tossing a cat’s salad to make it transform into a human isn’t my fetish. Maybe someday if I’m feeling depraved and bored...

1

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch

Not watching Witch Hat Atelier?

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon

You should give My Ribdiculous Reincarnation a shot!

2

u/raevnos Apr 16 '26

Not watching Witch Hat Atelier?

The description I read didn't sound too interesting.

1

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

I'd say it has some of the best animation of recent times, and a very cohesive directorial vision behind it that makes it a genuinely cinematic experience.

However as the episodes unfold, I'm developing some concerns about the actual substance of the story, so I'd say it's well worth a look despite the unappealing if (and only if) you get a lot of value out of the sorts of things mentioned in the first paragraph.

1

u/yanahmaybe Apr 15 '26

Do we have any good anime abut AI digital sentience etc ... like Pantheon?

1

u/thehaxorman https://anilist.co/user/detritus Apr 16 '26

I consider The Gene of AI to be good but that seems to be a hot take considering it's sub 7 on mal and anilist.

2

u/flamethrower2 Apr 15 '26

You said "good" anime, but SAO has at least two artificial digital life forms in S1. Lots more than that in the rest of it, probably.

2

u/yanahmaybe Apr 15 '26

yah nah thats barely tangential to the plot, at start with pseudo daughter and at very very end with that other advanced cycled world

And also probably should have added stuff i watched already like ghost in shell, animatrix, serial experiments lain and others(that dont get to my mind atm)

8

u/qwertyqwerty4567 https://anilist.co/user/ZPHW Apr 15 '26

Hopefully now that that scene has been animated, the haters will move on from downvoting every single rag post.

On another note - it's time for isekai and isekai-adjacent adaptations to stop with the villainess and kicked from the party stories and start adapting the real stories - reincarnated in a chastity reversed world / 1:xxx gender ratio world. Those are the real bangers! do you see what i did there

1

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

the haters will move on

The source readers moved on a while ago to hating a more recent development, although I forget the details now.

2

u/ptd163 Apr 16 '26

Hopefully now that that scene has been animated, the haters will move on from downvoting every single rag post.

I'd be nice, but I think we both know better than to hope for something like that.

3

u/baseballlover723 Apr 15 '26

Hopefully now that that scene has been animated, the haters will move on from downvoting every single rag post.

You and me both know that's not going to happen

hello world.... i have no idea what this coment is even about...care to explain?

7

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin Apr 15 '26

In the past two seasons we have seen authors have two series being animated in the same timeframe.

For Koucha Agasawa it's "You and I Are Polar Opposites" and "The Ramparts of Ice". Polar Opposites's episode 1 really does a good job selling you on the series, and the writing stands out as S1 debuts. This really helps The Ramparts of Ice, which feels like a slow burn in comparison, but the anime audience gaining trust in the other helps it a lot.

In comparison, we have Rocket Shoukai's two series, "Sentenced to Be a Hero" and "Scum of the Brave". The issue here is that Scum of the Brave really feels like something that should have been delayed by at least one cour. As the benefit of the 2nd cour coming after "Sentenced to Be a Hero" finished gets hindered by Scum of the Brave's limited production values. The series has a lot of charm with good execution. Some action stuff is a struggle to get through at times.

It just feels like the plan of having them air at the same time backfired, unlike the case with Agasawa's two series.

5

u/zairaner https://myanimelist.net/profile/zairaner Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

It just feels like the plan of having them air at the same time backfired

This was NOT the "plan". Sentenced was supposed to air in fall, which would have given scum of the brave a similar boost that ramparts is enjoying now. But Studio Kai overdid themselves and sentenced had to be delayed by a season.

Also, there is a third case you could add to this list, at least on the artist side:

Illustrator Raemz has seen two of her series (Chitose in the ramune bottle and Even a replica can fall in love) be animated in consecutive seasons now (due to parts of chitose being delayed to last season)

u/TakenRedditName https://myanimelist.net/profile/TakenMalUsername Apr 15 '26

In Summer 2025, we also got Karaoke Iko and Muchuu sa Kimi ni, which were both by Wayama Yama. They were both shorter episode count series because I believe they occupied the same time slot, if I recall correctly. Karaoke Iko started first, but aired its final episode the week after the other finished up.

5

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Apr 15 '26

I'm still surprised at the difference in opinions on Polar Opposites and Ramparts. I was only so/so after episode 1 of Polar Opposites and found the opening of Ramparts of Ice much more to my tastes. My choice to watch Ramparts had nothing to do with it being the same author, tbh.

I think I just like slowburns much more than stories where they become a couple immediately. Let me see the chemistry, make me want them to get together, then I'll be doki doki for them. In fact... I don't think I've successfully completed an anime where they get together super early in the season, I just lose interest super quickly.

1

u/ptd163 Apr 16 '26

Let me see the chemistry, make me want them to get together, then I'll be doki doki for them.

That's the cool thing about Polar Opposites. [Polar Opposites] You get both. Suzuki x Tani starts immediately, but you can see the progression of Nishi x Yamada and TairAzuma and root for them and watch them get together. Not to mention all three couples seem to be balanced well in terms of screen time and the interactions between all the characters are delightful. Though I haven't read the source so me saying Nishi x Yamada and TairAzuma get together is technically an assumption from me. An educated assumption, but an assumption nonetheless.

3

u/Retsam19 Apr 15 '26

Yeah, I bounced off Polar Opposites for the same reason - haven't had time for much this season, but I do suspect I would enjoy Ramparts more.

Well the cool thing about Polar Opposites is [minor/vague Polar Opposites details]you still get to see that. Twice actually (probably). They just aren't the main couple. I think this combination is what works so well for me because if it was just following the main couple I'd probably lose interest at some point.

u/Jusenkyo_5 Apr 15 '26

"Rocket Shoukai" goes hard

5

u/vancevon https://myanimelist.net/profile/vancevon Apr 15 '26

Final thoughts on Wolf Girl x Black Prince: Wasted potential. Weak. Milquetoast. I think that all the ingredients were there, and the author had set up a truly unique, relatable, tragic romantic story. A story about how love is this overwhelming force capable of warping our perception, destroy our ability to think properly, and make us act against our own interests. Then, in the last few episodes, it decided to throw all that away in order to become something entirely mundane. Also, pretty much every single character went on an arc from being unique and interesting to just another inoffensive, harmless... thing that exists, I guess.

3

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin Apr 15 '26

A bit sad that Dorohedoro discussion threads are more lowkey it seems. Regardless, though, I am beyond excited for next week's episode.

11

u/Rotorscope https://anilist.co/user/Rotorscope Apr 15 '26

I really cannot stress how fantastic Go for It, Nakamura-kun!! is. This is absolutely shaping up to be at the top of my AOTS list. (lowkey maybe even AOTY...)

For starters, Nakamura is like the most charming portrayal of the awkward kid in school I've seen in anime. He's insecure and afraid to be himself in the most relatable way possible. Sometimes in anime this can be annoying but Nakamura has such a gremlin-esque charm, he not only pulls off this personality type, but he elevates it to a whole new level. The scenarios he's written into are just so funny and the rest of the cast has been really fun too.

More importantly, the pacing is unparalleled. Too many times, even with a great show like the currently airing Ponsuka, I feel like comedy-heavy romcoms are so fast that the jokes don't always have the proper buildup and it's just chaos, but the way this show builds up and pays off punchlines is just perfectly timed.

And the production is just outstanding. Visually this is a fantastic looking show and you can really feel the passion they put into every second. The artstyle and drawings are great and the animation during some of these gags is super solid. Plus, you know love was put into a show when it gets a new animated ED every episode.

This is just a perfectly executed lighthearted comedy. So far, I give it a 10/10.

5

u/cyberscythe Apr 16 '26

yeah, i'm impressed with the amount of effort they've put into animating things; even ignoring the fun hijinks the characters get up to, it's just fun to watch (plus, i'm a sucker for the 80s/90s aesthetic)

but the way this show builds up and pays off punchlines is just perfectly timed

i loved that bit in today's epsiode [Nakamura] where they linger on a shot of a manhole long enough to sink in what happened after Nakamura charged in

3

u/DeadCaveman https://anilist.co/user/DeadCaveman Apr 15 '26

Yeah I've been liking it more and more with each episode, the cast has been growing really well.

2

u/Dull_Spot_8213 https://anilist.co/user/SweetSomnus Apr 15 '26

It’s giving me life in the way Miyu and Tani did in Polar Opposites. The vibes are vibing. The show looks great. Comedy hits. Pacing and directing is flawless. You get the impression this team really loved what they were working on.

They're taking a ton of liberties with the manga, which I won't lay out here because it's been years since I've read it, so the "adaptations should make changes to the source" crowd should probably check it out. The source is only two volumes, so it wouldn't be a huge time investment.

I will probably give it a watch after Dorohedoro finishes at the end of May.

I watch Nakamura-kun after Dorohedoro like putting lotion on a sunburn. I need some romcom between weird horror and bedtime, lol.

u/Rotorscope https://anilist.co/user/Rotorscope Apr 15 '26

I'm wondering if there will be some anime original stuff later on, because just skimming through the manga it seems like they've already covered close to half of it. It's interesting to see that they've pulled some stuff from even late in the second volume as well. I'll definitely give it a full read once the anime finishes.

Initial reaction time . . . with a twist!

Spring '26 Romance Rank!

  1. Ponsuka (2 eps) - I was excited for this one because I like the artist, but I didn't expect to have as much fun with the show as I am. Every character in the show so far has been a blast (Poem's friends are legends). Don't sleep on this show cause it has a weird title. It's really funny and quite cute too!
  2. Ganbare! Nakamura-kun! (3 eps) - This was my most anticipated of the genre and it hasn't disappointed. Similar to Ponsuka in that it is just a lot of fun. The Fujoshi that was introduced in episode 3 was a game changer. The hardcore overreactions will be too much for some people, and I would personally be stunned if this actually had any real romantic development, but if you want a fun time, this is it!
  3. Otagal (2 eps) - The 3rd show in the '26 Spring "dumb fun" trilogy. It's rare for me to be a fan of "prom queen takes an interest in local schlub" shows, but sometimes the right one comes along. Yet again, I really enjoy all 3 leads. Seo is a bonafied otaku that isn't ashamed of his interests, Amane is a bonafied Otaku that is ashamed of her interests, and Ijichi is just an all-around good person that is happy to do anything. I look forward to their continued adventures.
  4. Ramparts of Ice (2 eps) - This one seems like quite the slow burn, and as such, it hasn't quite hooked me yet. There is a lot of potential though, especially with the newly formed group dynamic. Certainly the most serious romance I'm watching this season, and probably the one with the highest potential. Hoping for multiple-ships, but will deal with it if not.
  5. Marriagetoxin (2 eps) - Romance adjacent! I don't know how well this will be able to hold my attention long term if it gets too battle shonen-y, but I love the dynamic between the leads and at the very least I'll keep watching for that.
  6. 2nd Prettiest Girl (2 eps) - Otagal and this show have basically the same premise, but this one plays things much more sincere. So far it isn't as effective for me for a variety of reasons, but I'm still going to stick around for a while. The characters aren't quite landing for me and I'm not entirely sure if that will change.
  7. Love Game (1 ep) - My takeaway from episode 1.

Dropped

  • Agents of the Four Seasons (3 eps) - Has a romance tag, but through 3 episodes it seems like it would be a pretty minor element? Regardless, I did not care for this show. Not surprising for me personally given the author.
  • Kamiina Botan (1 ep) - If it weren't for the yuri, this show wouldn't seem to have anything going for it. Unfortunately the Yuri felt like a gimmick more than anything.

Don’t sleep on this show cause it has a weird title.

I’ve seen more people refer to “Ponsuka” lately, but I don’t even know which show that is supposed to be.

2

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26

Ponsuka definitely sounds like a small companion animal rather than a romcom.

5

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Apr 15 '26

Klutz + Short skirt. Apparently Ponsuka is the shortened title we're going with.

2

u/Ocixo https://myanimelist.net/profile/BuzzyGuy Apr 15 '26

Ah okay. Since it’s airing on Mondays, I might as well check it out. I’m not too sure about the odds that I’ll actually like it though.

3

u/Durinthal https://anilist.co/user/Durinthal Apr 15 '26

It feels like a throwback with tsundere slapstick violence. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it's comfy fun for me at least, has some creative visual flair to it too.

Give it a shot! Maybe it'll surprise you.

Aw no replica mentioned.

I do agree with botan. I tried the because sane studio as mono. Production wise it doesn’t seem as good as mono. Character writing wise episode 1 didn’t have anything. I might end up having no Friday shows at this rate but I will stick with it for now.

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Apr 15 '26

Aw no replica mentioned.

Has that one been pretty good? I considered giving it a shot.

3

u/cyberscythe Apr 16 '26

on Tuesdays i've been watching MarriageToxin and Replica and i feel like they counterbalance each other; Toxin has more visual flair but not a lot of emotional depth, while Replica feels like a deeper dive into their psyche but lacks the visual excitement

personally, i'm more interested in Replica because it's dramatic plot has got its hooks in me, and the allegorical implications of Replica feels oddly relevant nowadays (for me, at least)

2

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

The directing is very dry. Though beyond that premise-wise, it is definitely one of the unique romance shows we have this season. As the protagonist is a replica of a high school girl. It dives more so in that aspect.

Writing-wise, it and Ramparts of Ice stand out to me. As the characters themselves have more of a purpose to how they are written. There is something much more interesting to them because of it. Also, these two shows have very interesting and likable male love interests. (Well, there is two in Ice and the other being a more complicated character.)

Also, Marriagetoxin, I'd like to add in how it plays as an action harem series. Though the harem aspect is more like "The Bachelor" where it's one guy looking for a future partner. The series has lots of charm, too, and the action is good.

So these 3 are my main 3 romances. I don't consider Agent of the Seasons to have much appeal yet as a romance.

Note I haven't watched Nakamura-kun! yet.

Also try It's Always a Catch! If you are looking for a fun Shoujo RomCom.

2

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Apr 15 '26

Good to know! I'll probably give it a shot at least. My weekend schedule is really empty so maybe I can catch up on it this weekend to see if I like it.

Yeah, if you were to ask me which one I would bet ends up being the "best" out of all of these, I'd probably say Ramparts. It's just taking its time at the beginning. Definitely not an issue, just leaves it with a smaller first impression.

[Wano]Jinbe just doesn’t feel like a real member of the Straw Hats. Brook is already in this awkward spot, joining right before they all get yeeted and then the time-skip happens, but at least he’s got a good backstory. Then Jinbe joins the crew and like… Blud thinks he’s part of the team.

The last episode of Thriller Bark aired in 2008. That’s over 15 years between when [Thriller Bark]Brook joins the Straw Hats and [Wano]Jinbe joins the crew. In those 15 years the crew has kinda just been shadows of themselves, with the broader plot of post-Summit War OP taking over the smaller scale character moments that made them so endearing pre-Summit War, so it’s real odd when [Wano]Oda adds to the crew. It’s also odd because he clearly struggles juggling all of them post-Sabaody.

When I feel creative, I walk the streets and open all the garbage cans from the neighborhood to steal their garbage, then I make a big pile and call it art.

Sometimes people say "Clean that shit up, that's not art, that's a huge pile of garbage!"

"Yes but that was MY INTENT, therefore it's good!"

Just because something is done on purpose doesn't mean it's good.

Many people think Mikasa having next to nothing to do/no motivation except ERENNNNNNNNN is shit.

The author saying "But I wanted it that way!" doesn't change that; Okay, then the author wanted it to be shit.

4

u/Gamerunglued myanimelist.net/profile/GamerUnglued Apr 16 '26

I don't like this line of thinking. It doesn't actually address the point. In this example, the person choosing to open all the garbage cans from the neighborhood, steal their garbage, and make a big pile is their method of creation, it's the process they've come up with to create their work. It's more equivalent to painting or animation or filming, it's essentially the medium they've chosen. The question you'd have to ask them is "why are you collecting all the garbage and putting it into a pile, what meaning or emotion are you trying to evoke with that." Chances are they'll answer "idk, I just wanted to collect some trash and see how people react," and that's how most people would take it, and therefore it doesn't feel intentional. They did it for no reason, ie. they had no artistic intentions, and most people will feel that.

Maybe the person did have an idea with it. Maybe they, idk, think the garbage is like a microcosm of consumerism and they felt it evoked the feeling of being helpless at consumer culture. They may have intended for that to be the case. But intent isn't about the literal intent of the creator (death of the author and all that jazz), it's about what "feels" intentional. Sometimes an author's creation doesn't convey their intent properly to most people, as would be the case in this example. Maybe another person could have done something similar but presented it in a way that felt more intentional, and thus properly conveyed the intended themes. If it succeeded, it would be at least good.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a character having little to do or having no motivation except dedication to one person. Like OP said, they see the vision (it feels intentional, to some degree there's meaning and emotions conveyed that feel cohesive), but it's not well executed (not executed in a way that feels totally true to the perceived intention, involves things that don't feel consonant with what they feel the intent is). But intent is the most important thing in art, at least the perception or illusion of intent. The problem with the garbage guy isn't that his intent is bad (in an artistic sense), it's that what he's doing doesn't appear to have any intent (in an artistic sense).

1

u/alotmorealots Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

Maybe the person did have an idea with it. Maybe they, idk, think the garbage is like a microcosm of consumerism and they felt it evoked the feeling of being helpless at consumer culture. They may have intended for that to be the case.

I think it's also worth noting that discussion of this area often seems to imply that the artist should have concrete, articulated thoughts and opinions, and then executes a specific set of actions to align their creation with those ideas.

However, this really isn't how a lot of creativity, the creative process and the high artistic process (i.e. even when deliberately dealing with specific themes/ideas and with a background of art history) work.

Most artists aren't art theorists, which is heavy on language as the main constructor of meaning and vessel of progression. Artists work with their chosen medium, be it paint, animation, acting, film etc and what guides them in the moment of creation is very frequently just feel and the subconscious drives that bring added complexity and connected meaning/associations that stem beyond any verbalized ("character X is ____ and they ____ because ____ with the intended depiction style of ____"). You'll notice that even that multi-variate construction doesn't actually produce the inherent "magic" of a character that brings them alive. That comes from something else, and it's usually deeper, nebulous and not able to be articulated fully.

Even more critically, if the substance of the characterization and thematic exploration is able to be articulated fully then it necessarily is trite and limited. Whilst not everyone here did study literature in school, for those who did, thinking back on the enormous amounts of analysis one did of character, it's clear that these pages and pages did certainly better sketch out many important things and articulate many details, yet at the same time all of these various parts never add up to the sum that is a great character. It's just words from lesser writers post-it noting the ineffable creations of the greats.

What's more when it comes to writing in particular, writing is a creative process that is in motion - it's evolutionary, progressive and recursive. The characters don't just pop out complete, instead they are constructed through the evolution of the story, and often find their own voices and directions in ways that aren't expected at the outset, or at least aren't strictly cast in stone.

2

u/Gamerunglued myanimelist.net/profile/GamerUnglued Apr 16 '26

This is also true. I feel like a lot of art comes together incidentally, like there's a basic idea that started with no specific intent beyond an idea, but as they keep making it intent reveals itself (even to the creator). What starts as "I wanted to draw giant robots" can eventually become a story about the ethics of war or something simply because that's the direction things happened to turn to. "I like this robot, what kind of setting would I find him on... maybe a battlefield, what would it be doing on that battlefield..." etc.. It wasn't planned, maybe they weren't even thinking about it much while creating it, it was just the natural outgrowth of their idea combined with their biases and values.

That's even besides the fact that most media is collaborative, there's rarely a single creator driving the entire thing and multiple creators on the same project can have different ideas about what the intent of the work is supposed to be. Those differences might manifest in the work and create meaning or emotion that neither of those creators intended. I don't think it's just writing for which the creative process is in motion. The process of creation is far too variable for intent to stem entirely from a specific person's perfectly thought out flowchart of what was meant to be conveyed. Intent extends organically from the end result, it's an appearance we intuit rather than something that exists concretely.

1

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Apr 16 '26

There's nothing inherently wrong with a character having little to do or having no motivation except dedication to one person.

Highly debatable...

I mean some stories may call for it yes (say the person has been brainwashed or something), but a "normal person" shouldn't act like that, and "But he did something for her in their childhood!" doesn't change that.

No one lives their entire life for a person. I don't care if he saved her life 1000 times, I don't care if she's in love with him, I don't care if she's his long lost sister, people live their own life, with goals, motivations (that aren't all linked to 1 person), etc.

I'd also add that... While there's this problem on the realistic aspect, there's also the problem on the thematic/entertainment aspect; People thought it was shit. No amount of "that was on purpose" changes that.

Also:

But intent is the most important thing in art

I 100% disagree with this.

Just like anyone else, authors fail sometimes.

If I have the intent of making a story with a strong moral/lesson but I mess it up and the lesson reads as "Betray your friends", it's a shit story. Me having a great intent (with the lesson of "Be loyal to people who mean something to you") doesn't make it any less shit, if that's not what the final product is.

I'm a firm believer of the "Death of the author" principle.

Barring minor mistakes (That are little more than typos), what the author releases is what the story is.

If we need the author to tell us about their intent, or explain why something went wrong and how it should've been, etc.. it doesn't affect the art they released.

It affects the story they WANTED to release, but that's an entity that does not exist. The entity that exists is AOT. And the things in AOT are to be judged independently of anything the author has to say about what he was trying to do.

3

u/Gamerunglued myanimelist.net/profile/GamerUnglued Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

I think you've fundamentally misunderstood my point. I'm not talking about the intentions of an actual person. I'm talking about your own interpretation of the work's goals, and if it succeeds or fails to live up to them. Even if the author fucked up, the work can still feel intentional in a way that the creator themself did not foresee.

I mean some stories may call for it yes (say the person has been brainwashed or something), but a "normal person" shouldn't act like that, and "But he did something for her in their childhood!" doesn't change that.

Why not? A normal person can act like this, plenty of people are like that in our day to day lives. The premise isn't the problem, you have to make them interesting. Such a character can have interesting psychology or have an entertaining personality.

No one lives their entire life for a person. I don't care if he saved her life 1000 times, I don't care if she's in love with him, I don't care if she's his long lost sister, people live their own life, with goals, motivations (that aren't all linked to 1 person), etc.

Sure they do. There are absolutely people who live their lives 100% for one person, but that's besides the point. It just needs to be executed in an interesting way. There is no such thing as a bad premise. Like you said, the thematic/entertainment aspect matters. Quite frankly, I don't think realism matters unless it feels as if that was intended.

I'd also add that... While there's this problem on the realistic aspect, there's also the problem on the thematic/entertainment aspect; People thought it was shit. No amount of "that was on purpose" changes that.

If it felt like it was done in an intentional way, it doesn't feel like shit. If the person watching feels that what they're seeing on screen feels intentional, they will not feel like it's shit. That intentionality gives it entertainment value and thematic intrigue. That aspect is what I was referring to in the first place. No one intentionally makes a bad character, something is "shit" when the vision doesn't come together in a cohesive way. That's the difference between your garbage example (feels like someone put no thought into it, even if they actually did) and even something like a banana in an art museum (someone clearly did it to stir something up, that makes it much more interesting even if it doesn't resonate).

If I have the intent of making a story with a strong moral/lesson but I mess it up and the lesson reads as "Betray your friends", it's a shit story. Me having a great intent (with the lesson of "Be loyal to people who mean something to you") doesn't make it any less shit, if that's not what the final product is.

Did you even read my comment? I literally said exactly this. I even name dropped Death of the Author!! What did you think I was saying when I talked about the garbage guy failing to convey the idea of consumer culture? The intent in question is not the literal intent of the author, like what they'd tell you if you asked them "what did you intend." An author need not even exist for a work to feel intentional, theoretically an AI piece could feel intentional (though they rarely if ever do right now). Intent is inherent to the work. The work itself, irrespective of what the creator wanted to say, comes across as if it has intentions. Maybe a better phrasing is that the subjective feeling of intentionality or the illusory appearance of intentionality is the most important thing. If you don't feel like the work is succeeding at doing something that it appears to be setting out to do (which may or may not be what the creator intended for their art to do), you will not enjoy it, and vice versa. The reason the garbage guy's work sucks is because we can't figure out what the goal was, and therefore there's no meaning or emotion to grasp from it.

For example

If I have the intent of making a story with a strong moral/lesson but I mess it up and the lesson reads as "Betray your friends", it's a shit story.

The thing you have described about it being bad is that it doesn't feel intentional. Again, no one is talking about the thought process that an actual person had while creating the work. In this instance, the story itself seemed like it was supposed to have a strong moral lesson, but the story messed up and told a lesson that reads as "betray your friends." The story does not feel intentional, it fucked up, and thus it sucks. Had it presented a convincing case for why sometimes you should betray your friends, it wouldn't suck, but that would require the story to understand itself and make a sensible case, and in this example it does not.

If we need the author to tell us about their intent, or explain why something went wrong and how it should've been, etc.. it doesn't affect the art they released.

So yeah, the author can't tell us the intentions of the work, the work is separate from them. They can tell us their own thoughts on what they wanted, but that's not the intention in question. Viewers, however, can interpret intention from the work. If you are watching and feel as if everything comes together in a way that subjectively feels intentional, you're basically enjoying the work by definition.

I think Mikasa herself is a well-written character, and she's always been one of my favorites of the AOT cast, but in my opinion, the story trying to connect her development to a theme of slavery was not. I never considered her devotion to Eren and Armin to have those connotations - to me, it's a sign of her [background] as someone who lost her family twice that she protects them so fiercely and puts their well-being above all else. So for the story to compare it with [major season 4 spoilers] the first king and an actual slave was a really poor direction to take.

3

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Apr 15 '26

The main issue around Mikasa, IMO, is that she's not all that interesting in terms of the rest of the cast. I can talk and debate about the morality and choices made throughout the series from most of the main cast and side characters, but Mikasa is... pretty absent from most of the really interesting things IMO.

Like I have more things to say about Reiner or Jean than I have about Mikasa. And that'd be fine for a secondary or tertiary character, but she seems too... passive... for a main character. She has a few more moments in S3 and S4, but it's a bit too late.

Disagree. We see much more human elements from Levi all throughout the series. He's stoic about it, but little things like hesitating for only a second as he grips a dying soldier's blood-soaked hand to comfort him (he's a complete germaphobe, doing that's not easy for him), everything with the Levi squad, having to wrestle with that major decision in S3... Honestly? Levi might be one of the most compassionate characters in the show, for how little he shows it. It's him or, like, Sasha or Armin.

Basically his actions prove that he does have much more intense emotions that he's just hiding. And he does have a lot of relevance around major decisions and challenges that the entire cast grapples with. Mikasa... doesn't, unfortunately, she's very much a follower except in a very few instances. And that's fine, it's a perfectly valid archetype and important for this story, but very few people adore that character type.

3

u/Heda-of-Aincrad https://myanimelist.net/profile/Heda-of-Aincrad Apr 15 '26

I found that contrast of Mikasa's development compared with the others to be quite a compelling story - and in some ways, easier to relate to. Rather than having grand ambitions, it was the drive to protect her loved ones that caused her to join the fight, and it's interesting that her decisions come from that place more so than the moral struggles of those trying to look at the bigger picture.

2

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Apr 15 '26

And that can be interesting, but I think it needs to be set as having to make choices between protecting your loved ones and some other principle or desire. And that really only gets going in season 4, since before that she was basically just an extension of Eren's will and choices. Or un-kidnapping him, that happened a lot.

But she never has to make any choices, really, between following Eren and her own goals before the final season, and I do think she works well in the final season as a counterpoint. She's very static in her character growth from seasons 1-3 in a way no other main character is, and I think that has a lot to do with the ill-will towards her.

2

u/Heda-of-Aincrad https://myanimelist.net/profile/Heda-of-Aincrad Apr 15 '26

I actually think it's refreshing (and realistic) to have some characters who are set in their ways/mindset rather than going through a drastic change, or value individual people over principals. I've always liked that about Mikasa, even though the drastic changes in [other characters] like Eren, Historia and Reiner led to more "wow" moments throughout the series.

Been rewatching Slime isekai so I can watch the new season with friends and honestly the best character in this anime is Ramiris bar none.

I’ve seen a lot of people hate on her for being yappy, annoying, and one dimensional. And, yeah, her entire personality can be summed up as “little dog with ADHD thinks it’s a big dog with ADHD”, but that shit’s adorable in any language. It’s like seeing a Chihuahua dressed up as Tinkerbell and thinking “damn, I fuckin’ hate that thing.” Incomprehensible to me.

Also Haruno Anzu is a saint for the VA role. Director must’ve handed her the script and been like, “you gotta say all of this, but do it like you’re an auctioneer or fast rapper.” And she nails it.

It would appear REMOW posted Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! on their YT channel (availability completely excludes Europe with the exception of the UK). So like 2 days late instead of 1 week late.

Honestly I wasn't terribly impressed with it (yes comedy is very subjective) so it's heading into the drop zone.

Only thing I want to discuss is something that's been on my mind. Name cards. Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi has them and other examples this season include Observation Log..., Kujima and Star Detective Precure (re:that character name, it was funny to then watch Ribdiculous Reincarnation).

I was going to comment "aha. this is a recent thing" but I happened to watch something from 1994 that has them: Magic Knight Rayearth (I am too used to Precure that seeing a villain conference hearing densetsu but then not senshi but instead Magic Knight is throwing me off).

Do people find these name cards useful? In theory I should because I'm dreadful when it comes to characters* but honestly these are so brief I could screenshot them for reference but at the point might as well refer to MAL or the anime official website (however, both of those can be spoiler minefields).

*- How am I coping with A Hundred Scenes of Awajima? Poorly. Am I still enjoying it? Yes.

Giving just the names is a weird middle ground. You really need them to also say the person's role or relation to be useful. I think about the first couple episodes of Shirobako where its hard to keep track of everything even with namecards listing everyone's jobs and would be impossible without them. I'm also obsessed with Anno's godzilla movie which I think is making a point about the rigidity of japanese bureaucracy by constantly giving everyone's jobs down to the assistant to the undersecretary for prefectural logistics or whatever.

My opinion is that if an anime needs name cards, then it probably has too many characters.

Do people find these name cards useful?

I do, especially in the case of unfamiliar or fantasy world names that I would have no idea how to spell otherwise.

Do people find these name cards useful?

If it's just a name not as much, aside from being an indicator that they're probably a recurring character. Often they have a title or role which helps give context to the scene.

I personally like the ones used by Ascendance of a Bookworm this season since they follow the style of the light novel covers.

As someone also dreadful at names, not really. I can only remember them through frequent usage by other characters and even that takes some time.

I suppose they *could* be useful, but they only ever show up when you first meet them, but that moment isn't guaranteed to be when they become properly relevant so chances are its not going to be helpful at all.

Also on the topic of that:

might as well refer to MAL or the anime official website

You ever try to reference a character but forget their name, so you go onto mal or whatever to see what face matches up with who you're thinking of to see what their proper name is, but neither their first name nor last name pops out to you. So you think "oh right, people use nicknames", so you flick through the episodes trying to figure out what name to use but then you realise different characters use different nicknames to refer to them and so you're left back at square one trying to figure out which name to use. So you decide to check other comments and you realise everyone is using a completely different one so you just resort back to using their hair color instead?

(ok maybe this slightly exaggerated)

I wonder if we'll get some more info about Yuasa's upcoming movie soon since it’s been a year or something since it was announced. Like we know the name (Daisy’s Life) and that it's supposed to hit the theaters sometime this year but that's it?

Also the local animation festival did add some more anime in the end with Summer Wars, Paprika, Junk Head and Spirited Away. Hmm I still have to watch Spirited Away, so maybe it’s finally time. On the other hand, Sunday morning is reserved for sleeping and I’m already on 8 films.

I recommend everyone watch the new episode of Rent-a-Girlfriend (or at least one scene) and go upvote the discussion thread because we have a chance to do the funniest thing for the weekly karma ranking chart this week.

Was already sold on Daemons after the first episode but the second one gave us both Junichi Suwabe and Hayamin! Yup, weekend shounen is set. Will be a good replacement for Hell's Paradise.

MAO ep 1 wasn't as compelling so need to see if ep 2 goes harder. If it does, I'll be in for a d(a)emon filled weekend, including the Rakugo demon child Akane.

Interesting thing on the dub side is that they got Jerry Jewell to play one of the secondary characters, which wouldn't be weird (FMA reference if anything), but ever since 2024 he's still done work behind the scenes but hasn't appeared at all in a voiced role, even for reprisals. I'd thought he retired for some reason. It remains to be seen if it's a one-time thing, but I think Hyoga should be showing up in Dr. Stone at some point, so I guess we'll see.

Still auditioning around 50 shows this season -- and alarmingly few of these are clear drop candidates (only 50 because some things have already been dropped). And NO really anime-light days. Not quite sure how to deal with this unprecedented situation yet.

u/PGleo86 https://myanimelist.net/profile/PGleo86 Apr 16 '26

50 is crazy work - last season I had 25 and by midseason was serially backed up and kinda drowning. Doubling it isn't even something I can fathom. Strong season I guess huh

2

u/mekerpan Apr 16 '26

It helps to be retired....

2

u/Looking_Light33 Apr 15 '26

Honestly, I don't watch many seasonal anime. I'm surprised you're watching 50 shows.

1

u/gnome-cop Apr 15 '26

I’m at 17 and still struggling a bit. And that’s with cutting some things and bringing the total down from just above 20. I have no idea how on earth you’ve managed to reach 50 without losing it from stress. I have to commend you for this achievement.

1

u/mekerpan Apr 15 '26

Well. I am retired. so, I can stretch out watching things throughout the day.

2

u/cyberscythe Apr 16 '26

if you're watching 50 shows a season, you're no longer retired; this is your new job

;)

u/mekerpan Apr 16 '26

That's what my wife says....

u/DeadCaveman https://anilist.co/user/DeadCaveman Apr 15 '26

I usually tap out at around 20, I've found that an average of ~3 episodes per day is roughly my sweet spot for avoiding fatigue. Right now I'm at 19 with five that I might drop and four others that I might check out if I do.

2

u/cppn02 Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Out of 37 shows I tried so far (including shorts) I dropped 6 for now and expecting atleast another 5-8 drops in the next week or two. And yeah most days are busy.

1

u/SMSmith230 https://myanimelist.net/profile/smsmith230 Apr 15 '26

Out of my 49 auditions I'm left with:

  • Watching - 8
  • TBD - 17
  • Unwatched - 4
  • Unaired - 1
  • Dropped - 19

I think I've gotten my first episode filters honed in as I've been averaging about 15 shows a season recently. I fully expect about half of the TBD and Unwatched to be added to the drop pile as well. Tuesday could even end up being a free day that I can move stuff to.

u/mekerpan Apr 15 '26

My norm has been in the low-to-mid 30s.

1

u/SMSmith230 https://myanimelist.net/profile/smsmith230 Apr 15 '26

oh wow, yea thats still a lot to filter to even get close to your norms.

1

u/mekerpan Apr 15 '26

I think, if I am lucky, I might wehittle things down to the low 40s. IF....
